We went to Capo's for my brothers birthday at the start of April, 3 out of 4 of us ordered a starter (I decided a main meal would be enough) and when they came we were unable to tell what soup of the day was as other than tasting like cream there wasn't much taste but the other 2 starters were fine so we thought lets just get onto the main meal! When the main meals came we were all a little disappointment but myself more than anyone as when I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta I didn't expect it to come swimming in a creamy cheese sauce covered in Cajun powder (much like everyone else's plates) so I advised our server that I couldn't eat it and she sent out a senior member of staff (the manager was on break) the senior member of staff came out 5 minutes later and was immediately defensive accusing me of wanting a free meal she said she had the chef try it and she said it was fine but even though I tried to explain there was no mention of a sauce on the menu, the pasta and chicken which was over cooked was swimming in a creamy cheesy sauce and the only sight of Cajun was the powder over the plates she argued (loudly may I add) that the powder on the plates was paprika garnish so we explained that we didn't want to argue but I couldn't eat this pasta to which she replied that was my choice but I was paying for it either way and if I wanted something else I'd have to pay for it as "if you order a drink at a bar and don't like it you don't just get a free replacement" (this entire conversation was had while the senior member of staff stood with crossed arms, disinterested manor and quite frankly cheekily cut us off each time we tried to speak) I tried to explain that if something was not as advertised or expected due to poor description they would remake, replace it or at least show some sort of interest in resolving the situation but she again shut us down so I asked her to take away my main meal and we decided to cancel our deserts so I sat for another 15 minutes while my family finished their meals. Unfortunately to add to the disappointment the stew in the boys steak pies had completely disintegrated, my mums chicken was over cooked and the specifically asked for dry fried mushrooms were greasy so no one was truly satisfied with their meals, hunger can make you eat a lot of things this pasta was not one of them.
The meals aside the senior member of staff was hostile, rude and quite frankly out of order they way she handled the situation. We will not be returning to Capos! read more
