What an amazing experience we had tonight at Indian Express. After exploring the Cotswolds we were hungry for some tasty Indian food. The restaurant itself is small and intimate but the ambience was wonderful. We were fortunate to time our visit when it wasn't too busy and we were able to visit with the family that owns this place. Service was top notch. Very attentive and great suggestions for different dishes to try. Food was flavorful and beautifully presented. You can tell this place is very popular with locals as they do quite a bit of takeaway orders. I wish we didn't live so far away. It was wonderful to be back in London, and to be able to share the experience of real Indian cuisine with my wife. With only one night and literally thousands of food options, it was very important to me that the meal was excellent. Rocky and his team did not disappoint at all. The saag paneer, one of my favorites, was absolutely the best I've had. The vindaloo with chicken was incredible. And the tandoori was full of flavor, perfectly charred, yet deliciously moist. Add some garlic nan, and a couple of rice options , and you've got yourself the perfect date-night dinner. Reservations are recommended, but it was easy to get one, especially if you can go earlier. The place was crowed by the time we left, with what were obviously regular customers and a steady stream of takeout orders, all combined to convince me we found a real gem, right in the heart of Kensington! A cute little spot, maybe a dozen two-top tables. Full spread on the menu, from mild to crazy spicy and everything in between. Friendly staff, very helpful talking through the menu. Portion sizes are perfect, enough to fill you up, but not overwhelming. The vindaloo was just on the hot side without going over. And the garlic naan was terrific (truth be told, that is how I judge Indian places). The mango lassi was just what I needed to mellow out the spices. It is a byob place, but hey have soft drinks and lassi, so no need to worry. read more

Definately get extra naan and rice as you'll need it. Owner was great and even gave us a reduced rate due to six of us ordering. It was the opposite of what normally happens. Came here while visiting London in the late evening an hour before closing time. Started with the cheese appetizer paneer tikka which was great and non-oily. Ordered the butter chicken with rice and naan. The butter chicken was the thick and creamy variant with white nuts, spiced to perfection. At first taste, you sense a loss, but the savory spices catch up at the top of your tongue as this Indian delight in Kensington, London. Now, we all know London has great Indian restuarants so every time I visit my favorite city, I have to hit a few. This place is small, cozy and and has a family-like atmosphere. We were lucky to get a spot! The rain and bad weather worked out in our favor, which is a good thing, as there was a cancellation. The hosts were amazing, friendly, and kind. They graciously turned away people due to being full, and either suggested take away, or other local restaurants in the area. They seemed to know their local patrons all by name. The food, superb!! The atmosphere!! Superb!! Everything was excellent. The food was probably the best I've ever had, including spending a month in India. Definitely will recommend to everyone I know, and will go back next time I'm in London. read more

Hands down one of the great Indian Restaurants, Rocky and the crew are attentive and the food is just amazing! We were here pre-covid and it made an impression and 2.5 years later glad to say it is still brilliant! We are just visiting, but will probably be regulars by the time we leave! Great little place in West Kensington. Only a handful of tables, but does a good amount of take-away and delivery service. The owner and servers are all fantastic. The owner was very informative and gave us a lot of recommendations from the menu, and tailored items to our liking. I ordered from their House specialty items and greatly enjoyed my coconut and almond lamb curry. My fiance loved his lamb vindaloo, said it was much spicier than what we are used to in the States. They also allow you to bring in your own beer and wine, which is fantastic. read more

This tiny restaurant is only open for dinner. They have only 8 tables, but they do take reservations (bookings), and if that doesn't work you can order take-away or delivery. Our waiter, who may have also been the owner, was fabulous. He was very helpful in pointing us in the best direction when ordering, and our entire table was highly satisfied with the flavor and quality of the food. I don't remember everything we had, but I did think the lamb was more tender than the chicken. Prices are very reasonable and you can bring your own beer and/or wine, without a corkage fee. This may not be the BEST Indian food in the city, but it's damn good and I highly recommend it. read more

I'm still basking in the afterglow of our meal at Indian Express. The name is simple. The dining room is unassuming. But this food is excellent. We ordered based on what our server recommended: the special lamb bhuna and the garlic green chicken chili, and a side of pilau rice. Our food came quickly, and was served hot. The flavors were complex and the amount of spice was satisfying and not overpowering. The rice was lightly fragranced, and delicious on its own. An order of garlic naan helped us eat every last bite of sauce. I felt the amount of protein in the dishes were good for the price (which is a bargain!). Furthermore, Indian Express gets extra points for being BYOB. The owner came to chat with us for a few minutes after we finished eating, and kindly brought us a sweet bite of dessert. The best Indian food I've had by far. It is a decent price, the meat was tender, and the curry was rich and flavorful. The garlic naan and rice was also flavorful and delicious. Our server was very attentive and polite and even gave us a complementary mango ice cream dessert (my favorite part of the meal). We however, didn't really care for the "chips and dip" appetizer in the beginning which we charged for. Overall, this is a great place and I would highly recommend it. read more

Just got back from our last meal in London. I've only had Indian buffet style so it's my 1st sit down experience therefore not a good judge for authenticity sake. A family of 4, We ordered: tandoori mix grill (average) that came with one naan, lamb chop appetizer (very good), chicken curry (don't know the name since the owner ordered it) (very good), 1 rice (don't know name again but it was very good), 1 crispy cracker appetizer with various dipping sauces (don't know name) and 1 samosa and extra garlic naan. 1st off, we were not that hungry and our family does not eat much so we were going to stop at 2 dishes but the owner felt that it may not be enough for 4 of us so we added a few more. I honestly felt a bit pressured to order more but it was ok....We didn't finish it but wasn't too much left over either. Overall bill was $36 pounds incl 2 sodas. I tried to book via email 1 day ahead so no response and I called in the later afternoon with 2 hr notice and got a table. Taking the tube there, it's a easy commute but we were 15 mins late and our table was still saved. They have about 7-8 tables total. The location is at the start of a residential area so u r on the right road. I stopped and asked a few stores for N.end parade and no one knew where it was; no worries north end street turns to north end parade. Overall, very good food and nice ambiance. The restaurant name does not do it justice. It's not fast food. I'd recommend this to friends. read more

This place is AMAZING. Every person that I take here tell me that this is their favorite place to eat in London. I discovered this place using another website. Rocky, the owner, was so friendly. I have tried a different dish each time I come here. Each time I am extremely satisfied. It is BYOB so if you imbibe go across the street and grab a bottle of wine or beer.. No Corking fee. I do recommend making a reservation. I am hesitant recommending this place because I might not be able to find a seat from here on out. Restaurant is tiny so we were forced to do take out (I prefer my husband sweats in private than in the restaurant anyways, which is his self defense mechanism for spicy food). Everything was great. The chicken curry was very flavorful and my naga chilli masala was so spicy and awesome (I asked for extra spicy). They didn't have mango lassi in the menu but I still managed to get one. First of all I would like to bring it to the reader's attention that although Indian Express have closed their previous location in Charleville Road, much to the relief of many loyal customers, including myself, they have now re-opened as a takeaway just a little further down North End Road at 3 North End Parade. For anyone who hasn't eaten from Indian Express I cannot recommend it highly enough. The customer service is top class (a big thanks to the owner Rokib at front of house), the food the best of its kind in the area and the prices competitive. My advice? Try it! The one person set meal was ok, nothing special. But the portion is very generous: you get a papadom, an appetiser, chicken tikka masala, potato, rice AND naan. I honestly don't know what my husband and I would do without this place!!! It's absolutely lovely, the staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly not to mention the quality of the food! We literally go at least twice a week - I like to change my orders up a bit (everything is good) but Luke is content with the chicken madras with mushroom rice and without fail it is always delicious. The food is incredible but the cozy atmosphere and welcoming nature of everyone who works there really keeps us hooked! You really can't go wrong with Indian express! read more
