Flavor is pretty good - like a sweet and sour sauce. Achari Chicken - unfortunately, lots of issues with this dish. It presents nicely as chicken and veggies on a sizzling plate. However, they first start with fully cooked chicken breast which goes onto the hot plate. Maybe if it was parcooked or they used dark meat, it might have survived, but the chicken was bone dry. Other issue was the veggies at the bottom were completely burned and inedible. Overall, the restaurant is still a pretty interesting place to visit due to their abundance in decor. The food didn't hit the spot this time, but we'd be willing to try it again.

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Indian Cafe in Manteca on January 1st, 2025, and it was a perfect way to kick off the new year! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We started our meal with the samosa chaat, which was a delightful explosion of flavors. The perfectly crisp samosas, topped with tangy tamarind chutney was seasoned just right! The butter chicken was hands down the star of the show. The chicken was tender, and the sauce was rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Paired with the fluffy, aromatic garlic naan, it was pure comfort food at its best. We also ordered the chana masala, which was equally fantastic. The chickpeas were cooked to perfection, and the flavorful blend of spices gave the dish a hearty, satisfying taste. It was clear that every ingredient was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Our son, Eli, loved the garlic naan so much he was very enthusiastic about the whole meal. The portions were generous, and every bite was a testament to the care and expertise of the chefs. I had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced--definitely one of the best I've had. The vegetable samosas were crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling inside. You can tell they're made with care. The paneer pakora was another standout--perfectly fried with a light, crispy coating and soft, flavorful paneer inside. And the naan... SO good. We ordered both garlic and plain, and both were fresh, warm, and perfectly soft with just the right amount of chew. The garlic naan especially was packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the butter chicken. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the portions were generous. I recently visited Indian Cafe, but my experience left me frustrated and disappointed. I was told my order of naan would be ready in 30 minutes, but I ended up waiting over an hour and a half! While I understand that delays can happen, the lack of communication was unacceptable. I kept checking in with the staff, and they assured me it was "almost ready" several times, only to make me wait longer each time. The naan, when it finally arrived, was decent, but nothing could make up for the long wait. I hope the management improves on time estimates and keeps customers better informed. This restaurant claims to serve halal/kosher meat, but I did not see any halal certification or kosher approved identification from a rabbi. It's disappointing to see what their server will do just to gain its customers. Pros: pakoras are spicy and addictive Location is nice and the store is super clean Con: their food is not halal/ kosher since they cannot provide anything to show that it is. Indian Cafe's catering was a big hit! The food was awesome - everyone loved it. We had plenty to eat, and everything tasted great, from the appetizers to the main dishes and desserts. They had the food ready right on time for pickup, which was super convenient. Planning was easy too - we sorted out all the details beforehand without any fuss.
