We were looking forward to visiting this restaurant since we had a really good experience over two years ago. Service is much friendlier, but the food was a little hit or miss. Definitely a different chef from the last time. I would still recommend the butter chicken and saag paneer - solid dishes. Dishes I would be ok with- Pani Puri Mango Lassi - the version they have here is a bit on the thinner side than we're used to Lamb Biryani - The biryani is a little different than we're used to - some tomato in here? Assorted Naan - flavor was ok but they were on the soft side - might have needed some more time in the oven Basil Cream - garlic, basil, cream - this was tasty, but seemed like it was a bit out of place with the other food. Also, I wouldn't recommend the shrimp as they didn't hold up well in the sauce (tiny and a little overcooked) Dishes that weren't my favorite- Bollywood Wings - for a deep fried wing, these have no texture (like a microwaved wing). Flavor is pretty good - like a sweet and sour sauce. Achari Chicken - unfortunately, lots of issues with this dish. It presents nicely as chicken and veggies on a sizzling plate. However, they first start with fully cooked chicken breast which goes onto the hot plate. Maybe if it was parcooked or they used dark meat, it might have survived, but the chicken was bone dry. Other issue was the veggies at the bottom were completely burned and inedible. Overall, the restaurant is still a pretty interesting place to visit due to their abundance in decor. The most mediocre/tasteless Indian food you could eat. I have been with my partner for over 11 years who is Indian so I know what good Indian food is. Aside that in general if you have good taste to you won't come here. If it's hot they don't have AC. The lady is really nice I'll give her that. But the food. 0/10 The "butter chicken" had ZERO flavor if you could even call it that. The "chicken" biriyani is had no chicken and tasteless. Go to a different Indian restaurant because this place is NOT IT. Absolutely not worth coming here $80 for this was beyond a waste of money. read more

I ordered the 2 piece tandoori chicken. It arrived dry and no flavor. I called the restaurant to inform them that I would've been happy to ask for the chutney and the onions and the lemon. Otherwise I eat this he was mocking me asking me if I was Indian. For your information no I'm not and I don't expect free food, but I would've like to have the option to pay extra for the sauces. We ordered samosas, aloo tikki, butter chicken, lamb tikka masala, goat punjabi curry, 3 orders of rice (because rice is not included with the curry orders), garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Everything here is made to order, make sure you specify the spice level. Samosas and aloo tikki were delicious and tasted as expected. The butter chicken here was so good. The chicken was extremely tender and the sauce was rich. For the tikka masala and punjabi curry, we were unsure which was which. Both had a lighter sauce consistency, the goat however was extremely chewy. Garlic naan was good but I wish it was softer, it tasted similar to a flat bread because although it was very thin it was also dense. Mango lassi was delicious. Updating from my previous review. We decided to dine here again, and my experience is just about the same. First off, let me say the food is good. The aloo gajar matar veggie dish might be my favorite vegetarian dish I've had when it comes to Indian cuisine. The flavors are outstanding. The aloo tikki with channa was solid, the paneer dish was pretty good too. The issue came down to price. For four entrees, an appetizer, two side orders of rice, and one order of naan it came out to $90. We were a little taken aback when we heard the total as we were thinking it was going to be closer to the $60-70 range. When I got home I looked up the prices compared to Doordash and found some discrepancies. Some dishes we were charged more for, one less. Overall, it was about a $4 price difference compared to the Doordash prices (in the restaurant's favor). Not enough to make it a huge deal, but a little concerning that they didn't match. Many other restaurants will include rice if you're ordering an entree, but this place does not. That was another $8 tacked on to our meal. I may return in the future for the aloo gajar matar dish, but I feel like there are better values elsewhere in town for the other stuff. Like I said before, the food is good but I can get food that's just as good at other places in town for a lot less, plus I'll save by not having to buy the rice extra. read more

I give it a 3.9 - 4 stars. We had a table of 7 for dinner tonight. Upon entry we were seated pretty quick, restaurant was empty. Seemed like the AC wasn't on or working cause we had a fan facing our table to provide some coolness. Our server was trying the best she could with being quick and efficient, but unfortunately she seemed to be the only one working. The food came out kinda slow from time to time, but tasted pretty good although the medium heat was NOT medium. Beverages got warm and ice melted way too quick. It's hard to be comfortable when you're wiping sweat off yourself when eating, especially Indian food. Also shoo-ing off flies cause the front door was open. Oh and, someone was messing with the music or was connected to Bluetooth, so every 2 seconds, you hear the text notification go off. THEN apparently the owners brother was "testing" out the sound system for someone that was gonna rent the place out, so the music would blare so loud. Like hello, you have customers dining! We ordered take-out, first their menu wasn't up-to-date on Yelp-you had to go through door dash-which I did not want to do. They no longer make chili chicken or korma. We had butter chicken which was a strange color of apricot-had no taste or spice, chicken tikka masala which tasted like tomato and spinach paneer which tasted burnt. For the cost this was easily some of the least flavorful and just unenjoyable Indian food I've ever had. So disappointing-I'd been there for lunch about 6 months ago and it was fine. Food and service was great! Family owned restaurant with plenty of room, fun music, and eclectic decor. The saag paneer was creamy and tasty! Butter chicken sooo good. I ordered Basmati Rice and Naan Bread to pair with it. *Lamb Kabobs: The kabobs with the vegetables were seasoned and cooked perfectly. *Strawberry Lassi: It was my first trying a Lassi. I have mad appreciation for India 4 U. They are open much later than other restaurants in the area. So when I was driving to my home in Oakdale from SFO, I was supremely grateful that I had a stop where I could get a late meal to go and enjoy a drink in the full bar while my delicious meal was prepared. The atmosphere is totally unlike anything in the Central Valley or East Bay. It would be at home in a major city with its unique art and stylish vibe. I have been here for takeout several times and ordered their: Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, rice, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. I tend to order items medium spicy. For some reason, I crave Indian food whenever I'm in Manteca. I finally had some yesterday and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely and the bathroom is gorgeous. The server (older gentleman) was friendly and great so most of the stars go to him. Tandoori Chicken was super dry and tasted as if it was cooked the day before and just reheated for us. Garlic Naan was burnt and the garlic flavor was almost non-existent. Butter Chicken had the weirdest flavor but was also bland at the same time. The samosas were the only decent food item. I didn't try the coffee but was told that it tasted like it was made using instant/powdered coffee. I hate to leave a less than stellar review but I can't recommend this place nor will I ever try this place again. However, thank you to the server for the great service! read more

I was also not informed the drinks did not have refills when asking for them resulting in a 12 dollar bills just for my tea. I even asked if there was refills, and she told me yes. And not even remotely close to what anyone could call a salad... Not even what one would imagine a cucumber salad to look like. No chile, no spice, no masala... Legit a stack of raw onions. I have not even gotten to the curry yet... Forgot to order rice so I am currently working on that... I will update my review. But the salad, come on now. The basil curry is decent. The kids loves the naan and butter chicken so much they licked the plates clean. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the place. Multiple tables had sauces and residue on them. They did wipe our table clean after we sat down. But there were sauce stains all over the tablecloth, which bothered me because they might as well not use tablecloths if you're not going to replace them! When someone first told me about this place, he mentioned the Indian Mona Lisa. Say less. That's what got me to come out here from Sacramento for dinner. I had the pleasure of coming back tonight to enjoy the beautiful decor once again, more spruced up than ever from the added festive Christmas decors. The details of this place is incredible, and we haven't even gotten to the food part! You know a place is legit when going towards the back of the restaurant, it starts looking like someone's home or busy work space. That alone should tell you everything you need to know. The food is DELICIOUS. Their mango curry is so good, I ate half of it before even remembering to take a picture. That's like totally frowned upon as a young Asian woman to forget to do such a thing, but I couldn't help it. The lamb Tikka Masala is equally amazing. Their sizzling plate of Tandoori Chicken is aesthetically appealing and taste just as good. In our American culture, we know to give thanks to the creator of garlic bread, but no one's talking much about garlic naan. Well, they should because this place have got some of the best ones. Bhatura bread came out hot, fluffy, and goes so well accompanying the curries. There was a sweet and savory tamarind sauce with a refreshing cilantro mint sauce as well. First off...I apologize for no pictures. Phone was dead. The service is impeccable. The food is super fresh. We normally eat Indian food from the Bay Area when we are down there. India 4 U is good but, if you have a sensitive stomach, not for you. They tell you that they can make it spicy or no spice at all. We had a mixture of items. My dad, husband, mother, daughter, our son, didn't have problems. Mom, dad, and daughter had stomach issues a bit later. For me, it was instant. A lot of butter and oil was used and the Curry tasted a bit off to me. Granted, I know Indian food is made with oil and butter but, I couldn't even get the rice onto my spoon because of how oily it was. (I didn't give a full 5 star because I have had better Indian food in town, also I thought the vegetable combo should have a little larger portion of food) Most of the portions sizes were good. I have heard though if you dine in obviously the portion sizes would be even larger. As for pricing, the cost was pretty much standard to Indian food pricing. I woke up at 1pm today so there really was no other rational choice than to order spicy Indian food as my first meal. Happy to find that India 4 u is on all of the food delivery apps such as grubhub and uber eats. Of course you can always order take out too but like I said, I woke up veryyyy late today lol I ended up ordering more than I usually do but I was starving and haven't been able to do an Indian buffet due to the pandemic. A couple of dishes stood out to me the most. First the paneer tikka masala was sensational, although they did not ask for the spice degree it had the perfect amount of spice! Almost as if I added a note on my order to make it spicy! I also enjoyed the garlic naan, roti and plain basmati rice as my sides as well. I'm very picky with plain rice! To me if a restaurant makes good plain rice that's a staple and means everything else is good! The portions were too small for my liking.
