Fantastic! I'm new to Indian but appreciated all the detailed explanations on the menu. Food was delicious and so were the beverages. Frozen Mango Colada was 10/10. We got the House Special Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Korma which were both great. What really blew me away is the gorgeous indoor and outdoor atmosphere, it's stunning! Service was great and multiple people came and checked on us. I took advantage of the free henna which they have from 6-10 Fri, Sat, and Sun. This place is a must try! I came to India with some coworkers to enjoy their famous lunch special. We got there around noon, it was pretty empty so we got seated in a comfy booth quickly. I tried the lamb vindaloo lunch special - the lamb was spicy but delicious! I enjoyed everything on my plate but the garlic naan, tamatar ka shorba (tomato soup like dish), and shaki kheer (rice pudding) really stood out. I loved my mango lassi drink. I got so much food for less than $20 - I was so full that I didn't even end up having dinner later. I will definitely be returning to try the different options on the lunch special! read more

I love the ambience at this restaurant. It's one of the very few indian restaurants in US where the ambience is very nice. They have a very nice outdoor as well as indoor seating. The tandoori chicken and lamb chops appetizer were served with kale salad and Indian style mashed potatoes. They are very filling and the salad and mashed potatoes taste amazing. The appetizers are great too. The naan platter was very flavorful and we loved it. We were a group of four and ordered 3 curries. Considering the quantity of all the other dishes, the curries was less. However, it tasted great. The two things underwhelming were the biryani. We tried both the chicken and goat biryani. They were both underwhelming. The chicken in n the biryani was very dry. The mango lasso based cocktail was not that great. It hardly had any alcohol in it and the mango flavoring tasted very artificial. It comes with one appetizer (I recommend getting the Vegetarian Appetizer Sampler so you can try multiple things!), two entrees, a dessert, and a bottle of wine. Both of our entrees were delicious (Chicken Kabobs and Jalfrezi Curry with Paneer) and and not overly spicy; you can ask for chili sauce like I did if you're looking for some added heat. I have been coming to India for years and it is my go to for a healthy meal in the city. I don't have a photo, but the KALE SALAD is the best best best! I always order double kale salad with all of my meals (you get choice of potatoes or rice I think). They have a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. I tend to eat pretty pescatarian based so I always go for the shrimp kabobs. The lentil soup is also pretty incredible. You can't miss with this place. read more

First of all ... this is a more Americanized Indian restaurant. The food isn't AT ALL spicy. It's made for the American pallet. I haven't asked them to 'spice up' the dishes here because I am usually dining with folks who like it bland. Don't expect authentic Indian food here ... they rely heavily on salt vs. spice. But, the food is good and satisfying if you know what you are getting into. The decor is the standout. It feels like a Los Angeles restaurant which would fit in around Santa Monica or Venice Beach. It has bright yellow paint, relaxing brass moroccan style lantern chandeliers and a wonderful open air patio with colourful flowers and bushes in the warmer months. Each time we used to go here I was transported back to my LA roots. They have an Indian food buffet for lunch and dinner, which is a fantastic value. I will say that the food choices are the same all the time ... they never seem to change the buffet options, which would be nice. The portions are a good size on the non-buffet entrees. They also serve these giant $5 special margaritas, which you'd be best to avoid. They have almost no alcohol and taste like straight up sugar water. I watched the bartender make one and a splash of well booze goes in. Probably not even a full shot. They do have other beers and mixed drinks available. The staff is a little frosty at times. Not rude ... but just not really friendly. This doesn't bother me much though. Overall, if you want some good portions, decent tasting Americanized Indian cuisine and a fantastic West-Coast style atmosphere, this is a great spot. It has the best decor put of any Indian restaurant in Providence. The prices are a bit high for what you get but the menu states everything is fresh and I have no reason to believe it is not. read more

There were four of us and also a four-year-old child so we decided to sit outside on a nice day. The menu was quite extensive and well laid out. We had very quick service. The restaurant was not very full at 5:30. I had my standby lamb vindaloo, and a few of the other dishes like the kebabs were also ordered by our group. The drinks and appetizers came quickly, and we were quite satisfied with the size of the appetizers, including mussels and pappadum. Chicken korma was very tasty.Lamb saag was delicious. I got the Chicken Sheesh Kabob and it usually comes with a chutney sauce on the side . Unfortunately it did not come with it this time and I was upset because it compliments the dish . I called and asked if I could have a sauce ready since I was willing to go and grab it . Artison was very kind to offer to drive to me and drop it off . I was not expecting that response! First time back post covid. The weekend brunch buffet has been replaced by a brunch thali, which is a large round platter with lots of small excellent things to eat plus you choose three mains. Our preferred restaurant for a casual date night or when entertaining friends from out of town. The atmosphere is excellent with beautiful colored walls and vibrant, decorative lamps. Service is usually very good and we often have the same server when we come here- and we've been coming here for years. My favorite thing here is the kale salad but I also enjoy their paneer curries. Drinks used to be amazing but on our last visit they seemed a bit watered down, although still nicely presented. Overall, though, it's a really solid place. Take out is always a good option too. If you can't get a table, you can dine at the bar. Reservations definitely recommended for prime dine out nights like Friday and Saturday. read more

This past week, my partner and I went to dine in for our anniversary and I had such a great time. The building is beautiful and the decor is so lovely! There is gorgeous outdoor seating (though we sat inside lol) so if that's something you're into, I would really recommend sitting on the outdoor balcony(?) area. I have always ordered a lamb biryani when we got takeout and my partner would usually order the chicken saag. BUT I tried the chicken tikka masala and it was sooo good! I usually never order chicken tikka masala because I feel like that is the orange chicken of Indian food (if you get what I mean) but man, I was seriously missing out. I was a bit confused with the service though; When we had dined in, we were served by three separate waiters? We had one waiter ask if we were ready but we needed a bit more time, and another waiter came by to take our order a few minutes later, then another waiter came to our table with the wrong food, and then the first waiter came back to drop off our food. Anyway, it didn't bother me too much; Everyone was really nice. The place is quite popular (and loud) and it was a bit difficult to have a conversation but the food makes up for it lol read more

I initially tried this place via takeout, but waited till I dined in person to write this review. In person, this place is beautifully decorated. The service was excellent and the dishes were nicely presented. However I don't think this place serves authentic Indian food. Personally, in terms of taste and texture, this place would be below average. Initially I ordered a variety of curries via takeout. The issue is it's served over rice, which may work in person but via takeout the rice absorbs all of the curry leaving you with dry meat and rice. It's probably the worst way of serving Indian food and I don't know why they decided on this. The korma and Masala curries were equally tasteless and dry. The saag curry however was pretty good, probably the best thing I tasted on the menu. The naan bread bowl has a number of confusing flavors (ginger naan??) and none of them were very appetizing. Anyway, I don't think a review based on takeout is fair to the restaurant so I dined in person. While the presentation and atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, I don't think the food lives up to expectations. read more

I'll be totally honest and tell you that Indian food isn't my favorite cuisine mostly because I don't enjoy curry, but I really love everything about this restaurant. The decor is beautiful, the staff is top notch, the flowers, planters, and gardens are stunning, and the food absolutely delicious. We may only come here about 4 times a year but are reminded how much we enjoy everything each time we visit. They have a delicious mixed grill kabob that is among my absolute favorite thing to order. Everything is served up fresh, seasoned perfectly, and presented so beautifully. Came here on a very busy Valentines day weekend, and when we got there even with reservations about half a dozen people including us had to wait for 10 mins or so just to get into the building since the place was so packed and I'm sure due to covid protocols. At first it seemed like it could be an issue as you could see the wait staff were behind with cleaning tables and literally running around, so I thought the service was going to be very slow, but I was very wrong. The minute we were seated they were always there and with positive upbeat attitude. Once we ordered our food it all came out at a decent time.
