Black lentils over khicheri

I do love India and was excited to have lunch there today. I used to get take out from here weekly but after losing my job, I had to cut out takeout from budget. I had a gift card and a friend to join me for lunch. I got the lunch special and iced tea. We had three lunch specials, appetizers, and three nonalcoholic beverages. The lunch special is a great deal! I had the Chana masala lunch special which was tasty and the naan and tomato soup are always good. When the check I didn't look at it and gave them the gift card. They came back over and said they forgot to add the drinks to the bill so just processed it for the new amount. Lowkey that is fine, obviously we should pay for what we ordered. But I also feel like if it's your mistake that you forgot? Weird to just charge.

The best food lies here in Pawtucket at India. The servers are all super kind. I love the cocktail menu and how many options there are! All of the fresh baked breads are delicious! I wish they had a potato dosa here but alaaaaas I still really enjoy everything on the menu thoroughly!

Whilst looking in the area for possible spots to check out throughout visiting RI, I immediately bookmarked the "India Restaurant". Mainly basing on looks, favorites dishes, and menu prices. Parking isn't the best so expect to circle around the "triangle" til you find a spot. Super narrow hallway to enter and also used as an exit. We were given the options of bar seating or outdoor seating since we didn't have any reservations. We chose the bar. Bartender was very nice and friendly. She multitasked with drinks, served out meals, and checked on us. My sister and I ordered familiar dishes. We skipped on naan bread and samosas. That's hard for me because I got to have naan at least with my curries. So we wanted to give it a try plus our dishes were $20.49 each. About $3-$5 more than our norm. Thankfully it included rice and generous portion. We both found our meals to be sort of bland. She got mild and mine was mild/medium spiced. I found myself reaching for salt but only garam masala and spicy chili shakers were available at reach. It was nice to see a switch up from the normal salt and pepper. Salt would have helped our meals. We decided to finish our meals halfway and pack it up. Beautiful restaurant and very clean inside. Restroom was impressive with the all in one sink, cleanliness and thoughtfulness of mouth wash. We wouldn't mind returning as it looked very nice inside but hoping to get better taste out of the menu selection.

Mango curry. The lamb was very fatty this visit. Hoping that was a fluke.

India is part of our 'regular' restaurant rotation. We always get lamb curry of one type or another. Our most recent visit was very disappointing and we hope it's a fluke. As the weather is nice the front wall is open to the front patio letting in the warm weather. We sat inside and they had the aircon blowing. The front patio is seperated from the sidewalk by a wall. The host pointed us to a table to sit at and then brought menu's over. A waitress came by, said something we didn't catch and asked what we wanted. We hadn't decided and she took a drink order. The drinks never arrived. A waiter showed up and asked if we'd like to order a drink. We explained the above, he didn't seem surprised and took care of it. We also ordered food. The lamb in both our dishes was very fatty. We both got tired of fighting for our food, trying to cut around the fat and removing the fatty bits we couldn't chew. I gave up and just left mine behind. My companion took theirs home. Disappointing. Parking is on street. Restrooms are partially automated. Ambiance is casual. Plenty of vegetarian options. Wheelchair accessible.

Amazing!! Went to dinner with my mom at 6:00/6:30 on a Monday night and it had a decent amount of people there, but this place had plenty of space (indoor and outdoor seating) to accommodate and the service does NOT lack because of it :) We ordered the Naan with onion and cilantro topping which was so good and honestly was my favorite part of the meal. I dipped it in the lemon-cilantro chutney, that came with my entree, and it got even better somehow. I got the chicken sheesh kabob (3 kabobs) with came with kale salad, chutney, and basmati rice. The chicken was great and perfectly seasoned. It came with some roasted onions and peppers and grilled pineapple on the kabob as well. Wasn't a fan of the kale salad, but I don't like kale so don't take my word for it. My mom, however, loved the salad! The other entree was tandoori chicken which comes with kale salad, chutney, and she chose zesty potatoes. I thought the potatoes were okay, cooked perfectly though. My mom loved the potatoes, so it's all preference. The tandoori chicken was great as well. It has 1 chili pepper next to it on the menu but it really isn't hot at all. Really great atmosphere and really nice staff. The service was super quick. Would absolutely come here again and definitely recommend!

Chicken kabob Lunch special

We went to have lunch around 3pm . We were greeted and seated promptly by the window . We able to enjoy the comfort of being inside while still having an outside breeze and feel the sun through the opening from the patio. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chicken kabobs from the lunch menu . I had the ginger chai and my partner had the mint honey ice tea . Their chai is my favorite drink to order. It's warm and soothing. The ice tea is refreshing and lightens the palette . The lunch specials have a great variety at a good price. Even providing a sweet treat through the almond rice pudding . The kabobs were well seasoned but a little on the dry side . We waited a while for the check but we weren't in any real rush and were comfortable with the inside/outside ambiance.

Chai tea is a must! Cozy atmosphere with several dining rooms and a great bar. Our server was on point and gave recommendations. . Tried the naan, a couple of tikka dishes and apps. Can't wait to go back.

A local institution. This place attracted my attention because of their Diwali specials. Those were apparently mostly for dinner and I stopped in for lunch, but nonetheless was treated to a robust thali. A single platter included not only an entrée but soup, dessert, salad, rice and bread. A ginger chai delivered a fresh sheet of ginger on the first sip that faded by the end. My chickpeas were ample in flavor and combined well with the other ingredients for a nutritionally and texturally diverse lunch. The place had ample indoor and outdoor seating and quick service, so it was no surprise that it was busy even in the middle of the week.

Sirloin sheesh kabob, Saag paneer, and chicken korma
Giselle R.

Genuinely loved my experience here. Food was AMAZING, I got the Saag paneer, my sister order Chicken korma, and my boyfriend order a sirloin sheesh kabob. 10/10 The saag truly felt like it was just melting my mouth and hugging every taste bud. The sheesh kabob genuinely blew my mind, I never knew something could taste that amazing. The chicken korma was so homey, the chicken was buttery smooth. The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming, I loved our waitress she was truly amazing, she checked in on us regularly, made us feel welcomed, and was super sweet. Even the plating of the food felt like a master piece. You get an abundance of food. I wish I had a big enough stomach to eat everything. Definitely will come back again!!

Odd photo, did not have a recent picture to place here.

My husband & I are regulars here. We had dinner last night (3/1/26). Our waist staff was Aiden who was friendly, attentive, & suggested menu items. The food is always great, and the cocktail menu impressive!

What a great find. I am glad I stumbled on India. Great vibes, good food and drinks, and great service. They have a very good indoor and outdoor setup. The best part of India is that they are pet friendly and have a dedicated menu for dogs.

Top is Vindaloo with chicken curry - spicy. Bottom is seafood coconut curry!

First time here and won't be our last. Our server was Great. Very helpful and attentive. The food was outstanding. We started with a 1/2 basket of Naan assorted and was it delicious and Huge! The savory flavor of the onion naan was divine. The Vindaloo was spicy but not just heat full of flavor! The Aloo Tikki - potato pancake was Delicious!!! On to Dinner - our daughter ordered the Karahi Ghost - goat curry was amazing, full of flavor and yummy! The wife got the Vindaloo with chicken, very flavorful and tasty and a little spicy. I ordered the seafood coconut and it was Great, the shrimp were Huge and the swordfish was tender and the mussels were savory. The atmosphere was great nice lighting and neat decorations all over, very relaxing. My wife and daughter actually got henna in the restaurant as there was a lady doing it for free. They tipped her nicely. Thank you for a great dining experience and my first at an Indian restaurant! We shall be back!

I really enjoy their food and service You need a reservation because this place is busy!!!! Free henna and fun music. For someone not used to Indian spices the smell when you first walk in can be strong but you get used to it quickly Love their food !!! Immaculate pick up experience. I love how you can just order online and pull up to the curb. Their food is the best Indian I've had in RI.
