This is our family's go to for Indian food! I would say the food is comparable to Bombay house. However, we choose to go here because of the atmosphere. Typically, it is not too busy (unlike Bombay House) and the waiters are very friendly. We have a lot of friends from India because of my husbands work and they say the same thing, "Bombay House has slightly better food; however, you can't beat the atmosphere and friendliness of India Palace." I always get the Chicken Saag (medium/hot) and a naan and have never been disappointed! I love the other food too, but you just can't beat the Chicken Saag. Lastly, you MUST try the Kulfi! It is by far the best that I have ever had. My husband and I have tried it at Bombay House, Korihor (in orem), and various other Indian restaurants , but none compare to India Palace's Kulfi. It is a pistachio ice cream! I love it to death, and I don't even like normal pistachio ice cream. read more

I can't speak to many menu items but I loved the chicken makhani. My husband got the chicken tikka masala, which is the favorite, and he loved it but I really preferred mine (the chicken is way tougher in the tikka masala). And the rice is sooo good! I should say that I really know nothing about indian cuisine so there's that...but I really liked it and will go again. We also got the garlic naan to share and that was very yummy. When we go again I think I will get a salad or something as well just to add some variety. read more

The food, decor, cleanliness, and apparel of the staff was 5 stars! The lady who owns it and served us acted upset that we requested to sit in a more secluded area since there was only one other guest there and we didn't want him to hear our conversations and wanted a little privacy. She was quite rude ever since that. Her husband, the other owner and possible cook, and his daughter came out and were very friendly with us and checked to see if we liked our food or wanted it less hot. We were told that mild to med-mild was recommended (probably since we are Americans and unused to how hot Indian food is), but we got one dish medium and wish we had followed her recommendation. I have met several people from India who have been rude to me in various situations and I wonder if it is a cultural thing where they don't like Americans telling them what to do and want Americans to be subservient to them. Obviously not all Indians are like this but 80% of those who I have met have seemed to match this description. I felt uncomfortable there because she didn't respond to some of our comments and acted sullen most of the time, even though we made extra efforts to try to set an example of friendliness and courtesy. read more

India Palace serves the BEST Indian food I have ever had. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. There is something special about the way the spices are perfectly balanced. I have lived in DC and several other states over the last few years and have yet to find a restaurant that even comes close to how great this place is (and I've been looking!). Food here was very good, We had the Mulligatawny and South Indian Coconut Soups, Vegetable Coconut Korma, Butter Chicken, Raita, Tandoori Naan, Kulfi, an Indian tea and Sweet lassi. All of it was great and came to about $55 before tip but including tax. We enjoyed everything we had but I think the Butter Chicken and soups (particularly the coconut soup) were the best items. We went Friday for dinner but I think it's awesome that this restaurant has a buffet for lunch and I would definitely come back during lunch to give that a try. The service was also great. Our waiter was absolutely perfects and the experience overall was very pleasant. I do think I prefer the food at Bombay house just slightly more, which is why I gave this restaurant a 4-star instead of 5-star but I would definitely still frequent this restaurant. read more

I'm no expert in Indian cuisine but I am fond of curry, and I think this place did a great job. It was good food, great service, good environment, and a lot of food for the low price (I went for the $10 lunch buffet). Not everything was great and I was hoping for some stronger curry flavors, but almost everything I tried was good... Pretty good but I've had better. Went for the lunch buffet. The wait staff were slow with the water. Items were slow to be refilled. The food was pretty good but on the bland side. The tikka masala was fine. The saag did not have cheese in it. It was nice that the naan bread was available. I prefer Bombay house but they do not have a lunch buffet. read more

This is an old favorite we keep coming back to because it is so good. This time we tried the paneer (cheese) naan- it was excellent. We love the chicken tikka- it comes out sizzling with fresh lime and cilantro that really make it pop. The service is attentive but not obtrusive. Mango lassi is another favorite. Great North Indian (Korma etc.), but the Vindaloo isn't up to the rest of the menu. All in all my favorite in the valley, and I lived for a year in Bombay and four years in Delhi. My (Indian) wife considers it equal to many 5-star hotels in Delhi. read more

As far as Indian food goes I am not an expert, just a fan. Having been to many an Indian place in several states I have to say this was among the cleanest. The staff was really friendly and they all were smiling each time they came to my table which was great. I had the lunch buffet and the items were pretty standard for an Indian buffet, the nice surprise though was the number of vegetarian options, many buffets have only a couple. The food was warm and well seasoned and always being filled so you didn't have to wait for the empties to be replaced. My only complaint was the drink selection, I love having a large selection of teas and that option does not exist here. If they up their tea game I would easily give them a five. read more

India Palace is my favorite restaurant ever! I go there enough that the owner recognizes me. He's always very polite, and although he has a bit of an accent, it's not usually a problem understanding him. The prices are pretty reasonable, and you can usually get 3 dishes to share with 4 people and still go home feeling like you've eaten too much. They also have a lunch buffet, which is excellent for someone who wants to try a lot of different things, but was incredibly crowded the one time I went. Their paneer masala is my favorite vegetarian dish, but their meat dishes are always tender and delicious too. And don't forget to order a mango lassi to drink! read more

I ordered a curry for dinner. First of all the portion was small and it cost $14. But the most important part was the chicken was FREEZER BURNT! I couldn't believe they would serve that! After reading rave reviews about India Palace we stopped in for lunch on July 7th. Upon entering it smelled promising, but our experience went downhill from here. We stood and waited and waited with no one in sight. I peeked around a corner to look further into the restaurant, still no one in sight. There were other customers seated, we could hear them. About 10 minutes later more customers entered the restaurant. Another several minutes passed and a little man showed up. He seated us in a cramped corner where two other tables were already occupied and simply said "buffet or menu." I asked to see a menu, my husband walked back to look at the buffet. Then we again waited. When he finally returned to take our order (we had both opted for the buffet as it looked promising) he asked about drinks, I requested water and looked at my husband to wait for him to order, but the man simply walked away. A younger man filled our water glasses a short time later. A young lady seated near us asked about the location of the restrooms and was told they were blocked?? As we walked toward the buffet, we passed the restrooms and they were indeed out of service. How can you serve food in an establishment without restrooms?? At the buffet we each took a small sample of various items. Nothing was particularly flavorful nor was it hot enough to be held for buffet service. The naan was crispy and dry, there were several variations of chicken dishes that while they looked quite different as far as color, they tasted similar. To top off the experience, we sat and waited and waited for our a check so we could pay. After about 10 we walked to the front counter and waited again. When the man whom had seated us finally arrived, he asked "two?" (he was going to seat us again). It was not busy in there at all, he should have remembered that we had already eaten. I am a huge fan of Indian food, the bold spices, the heat. You will not find any of that here. Very disappointed. Overall: Food is flavorless, lukewarm at best Service is non-existent read more

Easily the worst Indian food I've ever had. I'd say it's the equivalent of eating in a low-level American chain restaurant. Very low quality ingredients and effort. If you love this food, then authentic, well-prepared Indian will be an amazing revelation. My husband and I are visiting the area and wanted to go to Bombay House on a recommendation, but it wasn't open. I'll agree that the service was very good, hence the two stars. I was grateful to find this place so close to home. I have also gone to Bombay House and in Comparison India Palace BLOWS Bombay House out of the water. No comparison. Just returned from NYC and was bemoaning the lack of good restaurants in Utah Valley. Decided we'd try the Indian Palace and are glad we did! Saved what we thought would be a lackluster night out - in comparison to eating out in New York. The food was really good - particularly liked the Tikka Masala, Raita, the garlic naan, and the naan with the lamb meat inside. Best of these I've had anywhere. The service was also very speedy, courteous and friendly. The inside is also decorated in a very inviting style. Would definitely recommend! read more

The food is really good, however, the service is horrible. The owner is not friendly, nor does he honor obligations. I have several coupons I purchased from the local newspaper to use at this restaurant. I have used these coupons over the past few years. Our family ate there on Saturday night and wanted to use one of the five coupons I have. When I tried to use it, the owner claimed it could only be used Monday through Thursday. Nowhere in the fine print is this stated. When I called him out, he changed his lie and claimed it was "old" and could not be used. This too was false. The coupon clearly states it never expires. The food is good but so is the food at Bombay House and Kohinoor. It is no surprise the food is good at IP since the owner worked for Bombay House and stole all of their recipes. I prefer to eat where I know the owners are not cheats and treat their loyal customers well. I will never step foot in the place again. Anyone with a coupon from the Daily Herald beware! read more

The India Palace is amazing! I was apart of a party of 20+ people there and they were very accommodating to our group. The atmosphere was awesome, the food was excellent and the service was even better! The waiters were on top of their game and were very kind. We love this place and are here 2-3 times a month. Food is amazing, service is friendly but is a little slower than I would like.

Worst restaurant experience ever! If I could rate this negative I would. My husband and I came here because we love Indian food. Tonight we were seated in a little corner and left there for 30 minutes before anyone came and took our order. Then we waited another hour for our food to come. While we were waiting, not one person spoke to us. The only positive thing about the whole night was that there were three people walking around filling water cups. We weren't the only ones waiting. There were three tables around us that also did not get their food the whole time we were there. When our food finally did come, the top of our saag had dried out because it had been sitting somewhere for a long time. It was also full of large pieces of anise, so it tasted like black licorice. Across from us, a couple at another table got tired of waiting and they left. On their way out, the house brought out half of the meal that they had ready for the couple. Needless to say, after waiting an hour and a half, they were not willing to stay for half of a meal. As we were leaving, we overheard the owner actually telling this couple that it was their fault that they had not gotten their food yet, because they hadn't been there when the house tried to bring out their food several times. Since we were sitting right there, with nothing else to do but watch the other people without food, I can say that was not true. That couple was there they whole time, until they decided to leave. Unacceptable! Not one single person apologized to us or tried to explain the delay or even make eye contact, and now they are blaming customers for the wait. We will never go back. read more
