I've never seen an Indian place with such good reviews. I'm very particular with Indian restaurants, being Indian. In Southern California I've only found 2 places I like. One in Chicago. None everywhere else. This place is in my top 3. We called last minute and asked for a table for 14 for a Saturday buffet. They had a table set up in 10 min. The staff was very attentive and nice. Food came out often and was hot. There was hardly anything empty for long. Chicken curry, lamb, dal, chicken tikka masala were all very good. What puts this place over the top is the tandoori chicken. Its the best my wife and I ever had. Moist, big and amazing. I wonder what other dishes might be great? I would come here every week if they were in San Diego. I will come here anytime I'm in Phenix. Why is it so hard to have more great Indian restaurants like Indian Palace? read more

I'm clearly in the minority on this review but I feel like I gave this place a very fair chance by ordering several traditional Indian dishes including samosas, tikka masala, butter chicken, kofta, and naan and the curries were just very mediocre in my opinion with not much flavor. We ordered medium spice on all of the curries and the spice was almost non-existent. Maybe my taste buds were trippin, but I swear the tikka masala tasted almost like buffalo sauce was in it. Not sure if they added a certain type of vinegar based chili hot sauce or something but it gave it a very strange flavor. The naan was good but was lacking salt. My husband and I have been going to India Palace for date night for almost 14 years. We always are welcomed with a big smile and greeting form the owner. The exotic spice and fragrances coming from the kitchen reminds us we're about to have something special. It's perfect for a date night or for family. The heat level is individualized for your preference. Our favorite dishes are lamb madras, hot, whereas our kids like chicken coconut korma, mild. The red spiced chicken tikka from the tandoor with grilled veggies is incredible! The chicken saag has so many amazing flavors. The mango and strawberry lassis are a sweet treat the helps cool down the spice. Lady named Jatinder was the absolute rudest most self centered person I've ever met. I sat there being treated like an inconvenience instead of a paying customer. I don't know what's worse the complete lack of professionalism or the fact that the staff clearly couldn't care less. It's like everyone working here got hired for their ability to ignore customers. We were advised to order medium spiciness, but discovered it could be very spicy for the lamb dish. All were excellent and we had leftovers to take home. Our subsequent visits were for their Lunch Buffet. The buffet is a great way to taste many of their dishes and eat all you want. The buffet is very popular and a great bargain for the variety of dishes each day, and you get free naan with the buffet. The service is very good and helpful. If you love Indian food or have been wanting to give it a try, now's your chance. We have been to this location many times and it never disappoints. The restaurant itself is tucked in the corner of a slightly run down strip mall off of the I-17. The dining room is spacious and clean. It is a seat yourself situation but there is plenty of staff to assist you. It is a buffet style restaurant but they also have menu items as well as a full bar. The foods at the buffet change slightly on any given day so you can always try something new. Make sure to try the lamb curry, Tandori Chicken Thighs, Creamed Spinach and Aloo Mattar (curried potatoes & peas). There is a small salad bar where you will want to add some yogurt sauce to your plate of curries to cut the spice. They recently raised their prices a tiny bit to adjust for inflation but it only costs $15 for All You Can Eat Buffet!! You just can't beat that price! Tried a franchise Indian food restaurant recently and it was very good. When I found this family run place, I was very excited to try it and see what authentic Indian cuisine was like. Went for the lunch buffet and was very disappointed. Like most buffets, the quality is largely dependent on how recently it was made. Everything lacked flavor with the sauces and meats being bland. I am from Kansas City and am blessed to have some VERY GOOD Indian! This place was middle of the road at best. We went for the lunch buffet and found several of the dishes to be watered down sauces. Not thick or really creamy (Tikka Masala and Veggie). The chai was not sweet. The naan was free and tasted ok, but not very thick. If you just want an Indian buffet with decent food, this is for you. I am describing the dishes as I do not know the proper names. The onion type fritters were delicious for appetizers. There was also a cheese that was coated and you could dip. The chicken dish that was stewed and it was a very large portion. Along with the veggie rice that was light and fluffy with a yogurt side.
