The food was hot, presentation great and everything tasted good. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian, Dal fry, Chole masala and Butter roti with a Mango lassi. This is a great combination if you are looking to try something new, would like a bit of North and South and enjoy vegetarian. The complimentary chai was appreciated. The butter chicken was great to pair with rice and even better with garlic naan, which was so buttery and soft. My friend took me here to try Indian food for the first time and I was blown away. As soon as you walk in the place smells amazing. Friendly staff and the menu was easy to order from. Everything we ordered was seasoned perfectly and the spice level took it to the next level. You HAVE TO ORDER THE BUTTER CHICKEN. The garlic naan bread is so fresh they make it as you order and it goes so well with everything. I also didn't have to wait very long for the food to come out and the restaurant was pretty packed, that's how you know it's good and authentic! Considering this was my first time trying Indian food, it was amazing and I couldn't stop thinking about it all week. Everyone was really nice even though I literally call right before (1:41pm) they closed at 2:00pm (they reopen at 5pm). I asked if they were still open and said sure if you're taking it to go which I was!!!! I hadn't looked at the menu but I knew I would like goat if they had it which they did I got curry spice level 4 and it was spicy the I ordered Malai kofta also level 4 and to was deliciously spicy! Have been here many times since it has opened, and this place has never disappointed us. This is a great addition to the Happy Valley area and would highly recommend. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Everything that I have tried here has been good. Believe it or not garlic naan is the best of any Indian restaurant that I have tried (curries, appetizer, lassi, bread, biryani) etc. Curries are very delicious and close to authentic flavors. They do keep tea container in the restaurant that is complementary. Service: Good staff here and they do good in the overall experience. Not even a single time we saw a delay or any issues there. Ambiance: Small and squeezed seating but overall ambience is not you should be going here. It's just basic but that is not what this restaurant is trying to accomplish in my opinion. Everything is new including furnitures and restrooms. Hygiene: Overall cleaned but their restroom can be done better. Last visit had some restroom issues. Price: Very reasonably priced, not sure if this is soft launch prices or will stay like this forever but some of the dishes price will surprise you. The staff was friendly, the butter chicken was good, this all boils down to the deceptive advertisement of the cheese naan. It's described as "stuffed with cheese" and the picture on their website shows a nice amount of white cheese with a green garnish. The bread I got was so lack luster I thought someone had accidentally gave me the wrong bread. After going back I was informed that "they use a clear cheese making it hard to see". They also sprinkle it on, it is by no means "stuffed". I doubt they even add cheese to it in house, it seems to be just store bought cheese naan that's heated up with some oil added on. I'd be less upset if their website hadn't hyped it up so much, I've seen cheese naan that's actually loaded with cheese and this is definitely not it. read more

Overall my favorite dishes there are the Andhra chicken or butter chicken (get this mild as it's meant to be savory). The masala chai is on the house and their rasmalai dessert is divine. I've reviewed this restaurant before and rated it a 5. That was when they first opened. One of our typical orders is chicken tikka masala. Previously they gave you nice pieces of chicken but the last 3 times there were perhaps 4 or 5 pieces of chicken in the entire order and the rest of the chicken was in little tiny pieces like it was from a large batch of chicken tikka masala that was stirred too many times and broke off into tiny pieces. When they first opened we ordered this at least 3 times each week. But lately given the loss of quality, we've reduced the number of times we buy to maybe once bi-weekly. I know it's a business and they need to make money but doing this will lose customers. Give us what we pay for. That is how you build dedicated customers. Polite service. No complaints, no compliments there... I ordered to-go. I ordered what was basically a red spicy maybe tomato-y chicken curry. Not far from the consistency of tikka masala, but spicier. I ordered plain naan and it came with rice on the side. I'm confused why Phoenix Indian places are so expensive and yet manage to be so mediocre. $18 for a dish with a few chunks of chicken, the rest was like chicken crumbs you could dig for in the sauce. If you want good Indian they act like it's super hard to do or gourmet or something and charge an arm and a leg. All these almost-affordable places are disappointing. The rice was so dry and had no flavor. Even just plain rice at a good Indian place is always fragrant and delicious. The naan HAD to have been bought and not made. It was awful. Lacking in every way- it was not cooked fresh I can tell you that. Pale as raw dough, too. I do not recommend this place at all unless dishes like this were like $7. Not worth more than that. At least you kind of expect an average or mediocre dish for that price. Ambiance was pretty but quiet. Now I know why there were only line 4 people in there. read more

It was fine. We ordered takeout and were largely unimpressed. The paneer tikka masala was a light, almost yellow color - it looked more like a vegetable korma to me, so that was off putting.
