4.5 Stars This review is for the lunch buffet (We paid about $51 for 3 people before tax). What's better than being able to just stroll into a place and grab food right away when you're starving? It was marvelous and indulgent because everything was so good that it is hard not to gorge yourself. The buffet offers many options: meat, vegetables, starches, appetizers, sides, and even delicious dessert. I tried the tandoori chicken, goat curry, vegetable aloo, dal, butter chicken, and saag paneer, and more -- all flavorful and delicious. The creamy mango dessert was the cherry on top. I guess the only downside of a buffet is having to wait in line if it is crowded.

It's been 2-3 weeks since we went to India Bistro on Roosevelt so today was our lucky day!! Had the amazing buffet with so many great dishes - chicken pakora, butter chicken, naan, rices, multiple types of vegetable dishes, salads and their delicious rice pudding. If you want great Indian food, do yourself a favor and give their buffet a try! Best meal in town!!

Spectacular taste and value. We visited during dinner hour which was fairly quiet. The owner was short-handed and worked front service alone, but he is a warm and friendly guy. Great butter chicken and sizzling entrance on the tandoori! Can't say enough of the freshness and wonderful blend of aromas. Will definitely visit again

Really delicious flavors - we got seated right away on v-day - take that Italian restaurants nearby! Butter chicken and Chicken tikka masala were good, the cauliflower aloo gobi was fantastic and so memorable I ate an entire platter in one sitting. Good on fiber for the rest of the meal and night. The sweet lassi was also good. I'm glad I finally came here after nearly a decade of zooming by on Roosevelt on my way to Whole Foods.

5/5 for the buffet, no brainer. The lunch buffet is the best meal you'll find around Seattle. We always go to lunch buffet and am never disappointed. For takeout tonight, like 3.5/5. Tonight we switched it up and came during dinner, there is no dinner buffet so we ordered a bunch of unique items to go knowing they will never be on the buffet line. I would pass on the appetizer combination, it wasn't memorable. None of the items were crispy after a 15 min drive home. I would pass on the delhi Indian street food column of the menu...it's sort of like Indian nachos but topped with soggy bread which we found to be weird even though the flavor is good. Garlic basil naan was surprisingly bland, not sure if we got an off one but other people rave about it. It was fluffy and fresh though, but barely any garlic or basil. Tasted like their regular naan. Also don't get the papadum to go, it gets crushed into nothing but crumbs. I love their papadum at the buffet though, it's fresh and perfect and not crushed. The highlight of takeout to go order was mousse and tandoori. The paneer lababdar (or Korma) curry was delicious too. Anyways, I was impressed by the tandoori combination with different types of meats for $21. There's shrimp, a little ground beef, ground lamb for variety, but most of it was delicious tandoori and lemon tandoori chicken cooked just right. Juicy and delicious. A fair value too for the meat you get. The mango mousse is a good takeout item too, $4 for 8 oz of mousse. Overall we'll always come back for buffet and if we're in a pinch, we would get tandoori and mousse and a little order of curry to go. Pass on the appetizers and Indian street food.

Date with price

First the main door is dirty and some other spots are too old and imagine how it looks like in the kitchen. Today they charged me 20.99 but on their web it is 18.99 not only that yesterday I was here with different price unfairly while other paid different. The server literally took him more than one minute while operating the cash register machine and I had a doubt then asked him what he was doing and he was kinda stuttering next told him how much the price was but he insisted on shamelessly. It's not about the money it's about moral, consistency, social responsibility and so on .

Lunch buffet

We went for the lunch buffet, which is now offered daily from 11:00-2:30. Really good tasting food. Good ingredients and warming spices throughout. The only caution I have for everyone is this: be ready for a mid afternoon nap because you will need it with a full tummy! We're regular customers and this place never disappoints.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and I am so glad I finally did! We ordered a few things to share and every single dish was delicious! Shrimp toast: this was a great appetizer to share! Very crispy and the sauces on the side gave it a more complex flavor! It came with a sweet mayo and chili sauce. The chili sauce is definitely spicy if you can't handle spice so beware on how much you're using if that's the case. I also really enjoyed the slaw that came with it, it was very refreshing and it had a bit of sweet mayo flavor to it, I think it's the same as the dipping sauce but I could be wrong! Fried oysters: these were delicious! I think fried oysters can be a hit or miss for me, sometimes the interior can feel too dry and feel kinda of mushy-like, like I'm eating bread rather than seafood. But this had great texture on the inside while being crispy on the outside! The sauce on the side tasted like a pepper aioli which gave the oyster a nice tang *the fried dishes were great but after having a few, it definitely felt heavy, so this would be something I share with someone else vs eating it on my own Smoked salmon belly dip: I really enjoyed this! It was creamy and had chunks of salmon in it. It wasn't too dense or thick so it was perfect for scooping onto the kettle chips. The kettle chips were lightly salted so it was the perfect combo with the dip. Clam chowder: wow I absolutely loved this! This is different than any other chowder I've had. While I love a white creamy chowder from your typical seafood places, the base being a fish stock definitely brought out the seafood flavor vs a white chowder feeling like a cream base. This chowder still felt creamy and rich without the seafood flavor being overpowered. Rockfish bowl: the crab rolls were sold out by the time we made it to the register so we opted for this instead and I am so glad that we did. I didn't really expect this to blow me away but this was such a refreshing dish that balanced out the fried dishes we got. It used viet flavors that you may typically find in a banh mi which made it refreshing and had great texture from all the different fresh ingredients and fried garlic. I also loved how the fish came in patty form mixed with pork, it was flavorful and moist. I love any type of fish tofu/patty, I think it really makes fish flavorful when it sometimes can have a really mild flavor. I'll definitely be back to try the crab rolls!

So when I woke up still craving shellfish, RockCreek was the call. It was the right one. A dozen oysters to start: Kumamoto and Shigoku. Clean -- no grit, no sand. Whatever they're doing back there, it's working. The brine was full and present in every shell, and the mignonette hit that rare sweet spot of light but actually seasoned. The Winter Old Fashioned? Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. Not yet, apparently. Best brunch I've had in Seattle in two years. Highly recommend.

We ordered some of our go-tos -- hamachi crudo, tuna tartare, and calamari -- and everything was spot on. The vinegar dill fries are exceptional: thin, super crispy, and loaded with seasoning (honestly hard to stop eating). We also tried the loaded fish sandwich and the cornmeal-battered lingcod -- both solid choices. Spicy margarita lived up to its name with a nice kick. It was pretty dead when we arrived around 5pm, with only one other larger table seated, which made for a relaxed, easygoing happy hour. Always a dependable spot when you're craving seafood done right.

Service throughout the meal was slow, which made what happened next all the more frustrating: despite the delays on their end, we were asked to leave at the two-hour mark. This would be understandable under normal circumstances, but we still had full drinks in front of us and several guests at the table were still actively finishing their meals. When slow service is the reason a table runs long, enforcing a hard cutoff feels tone-deaf at best. White Swan is a solid choice if you're stopping by for a casual patio beer -- the atmosphere earns its keep. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. When we first arrived we were given the option of either the chef's counter or a table. I thought the chef's counter was a unique experience but for the night we opted for a table near the window. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

Similarly, we paid $23 for a seared tombo and were given four thin slices of meat. I feel slightly robbed paying about $80 and leaving quite hungry. The food was good, but by no means would I argue this is worth going out of your way for.

starting off, i was pleasantly surprised by the portion of sourdough bread given prior to the meal…read more- as I wasn't expecting that the bread wasn't anything special - but i did like the outside; found it to be pretty crispy. also, i liked the fact that they gave you butter as a dip, although it wasn't easy to spread it on the sourdough as it was just one big block i thought the main part of this dish, the salmon sliders, were quite good, however this came in three separate 'sliders', each with a base of rosemary bread, a sliced tomato, and a portion of salmon, topped with pesto the actual salmon itself was ok - personally i thought it was a bit stringy and chewy, but otherwise not bad. being brushed with oil certainly helped with the taste however, the other aspects of the slider were fantastic normally, i don't like tomatoes, but it fit really well with this dish. the flavor was there but not overpowering i also quite liked the pesto as a condiment - there was a solid amount on there - and it added a nutty texture that was good the best part of these sliders, however, was the rosemary bread. this was exquisitely good - it was crispy, herby, buttery, and served as an incredible base for the sandwich as a whole. i absolutely loved every bite of this the other thing that was a great touch was placing the sliders on the bottom of the bread rather than the 'more fluffy' side. this ensured that the bread wouldn't get soggy from the tomato/salmon and had it retain its crunchiness to the maximum three sliders was also a pretty good portion size another thing i enjoyed was the salad. a lot of places think that lots of dressing, often oil, is necessary to make a good salad, but this place managed to deliver something that tasted really good and had nice flavor with the use of little to no dressing. i'm impressed at the end of my meal, i got a carrot cake from the dessert menu this was decently sized, and the cream cheese frosting on this had a wonderful flavor i didn't taste the carrot as much in the inside of the cake, but i could tell it was still baked well, and the frosting added a great touch i would say its more of a cupcake than a cake, however i came during happy hour, so for the price of about $14, the sourdough bread + the salmon sliders were a pretty good value i can't say the same for the carrot cake - as while it was good - about 9 dollars is a little too expensive for that

Their complimentary sourdough bread basket is always a hit, too. The staff here is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the service is great every time. We've always been seated pretty quickly, and their outdoor patio facing Greenlake is perfect in the warmer months. Always a reliable spot for good seafood and a relaxed atmosphere.
