I've been to this location a few times. It's conveniently located alongside the 5 if you need a quick bite and a quick exit. The problem is the place is always so packed, it hardly meets the criteria for fast food. I probably wait on average 15 minutes for my order, but it's always worth the wait. I'm not sure the drive thru would be any faster. There are about 7-10 outdoor tables. This location is co-located with Chick-Fil-A so that probably adds to the chaos. read more

Took over an hour to get our food! Two burgers, three flying Dutchmen! When we asked where our food was, the girl went to look and manager in black says no, I need you on fries. So, no one is looking. We wait some more, ask again. It had been sitting by the drive through for over 40 minutes! When we asked for it to be remade, they put it at the back of the line of orders! They were calling the 90's when we ordered, we were 18, they were on 43! No apologies. I could have had a sit down dinner for an hour wait. Chick fil A in the parking lot would have been a better plan! I could have cooked a meal in the hour I thought I was saving time on a busy week night. I usually stop at this In-N-Out after a visit to Legoland before heading home. Even though this location is on the smaller side and there isn't much room for the long lines, they keep the lines moving rather quickly so it doesn't get too backed up. The food is always fantastic as it is with most In-N-Out locations. The food is made to order just the way you want it and the fries always hot. The employees are always very friendly and happily give my son the stickers or hat or activity books which makes him so happy. This is definitely a favorite In-N-Out location! read more

Such a busy quintessential California burger joint. They were fast, efficient, nice. Food took about 5 min to come after ordering on a Sunday evening after Legoland closed. We were order 37 and they were calling 87 by the time we were finished. We were there no more than 45min. Burgers were fantastic. Tasted fresh and the patty wasn't dense. It was 11pm on a Friday night and this place was almost as packed as a Chik Fil A. It's unfortunate the costumes they have to wear to work here but everyone was extremely nice. But respectfully, this food was so mid. The fries were so sad and hard and like, nothing happened to it, it's just naturally mid. There isn't anything special about the burger and fries. I can't say this enough as a born and raised Southern California girl, in n out is literally the best fast food burger . The menu is small , and some is a secret but either way you order it, it's going to beg be same each time . In n out is so consistent and rarely messes up. The only thing that changes is how well done the fries are . The people are always so nice and full of smiles . My only issue , is the line that never ends . Depending on which way you come in, you can be waiting multiple light cycles . It is so clean, including the bathrooms and the service is fast and always super friendly. They get you order right the first time always. We did the drive in this time. Cheeseburgers/hamburgers are just as good as other locations. When you order well done fries (which should come out crispy) from the secret menu, the Carlsbad Avenida Encinas location rings up the order correctly (the receipt shows well done fries), but the fries aren't crispy. This has happened for the last several visits. Apparently the fry station person is not reading the order, or maybe the staff is too focused on order throughput to get the fry order correct. The Encinitas Calle Magdalena location always gets the well done fry order correct. read more

Went here after work and there wasn't a terribly long line. Lots of parking spaces as well! I feel like they used to give a lot of lettuce in their burgers but the last couple of times I went it, it's like they (other locations) just put one leaf and it gets so soggy, so I started asking for extra lettuce! When I got my burger at this location, I was pleasantly surprised! I mean they really piled it on there! Everyone was very polite and the service was fast!
