Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting - Jack

Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting

Mark, Dan, Donna and the team at Creature Comforts are just the BEST dog sitters in Charlotte…read more When we first moved I used another sitter who eventually charged me extra for having an aggressive breed and for having to drive further than he's like to. I realize I am CRAZY for my dogs and since we don't have kids, my two dogs are truly my babies. After finding Mark and his team, we have used them consistently since moving to Charlotte for the last 3 years and they have sat for us typically a week at a time, once a month. I have two large dogs and have them do three visits each day (typically 3 - 30 minute walks). One dog is aggressive and wears a face muzzle on all walks, so first of all I need dog walkers who KNOW what they are doing. They need to pay attention and NOT be on their cell phones while with my dogs. My two dogs are STRONG - so much that even if my elderly parents are staying at my house while I am gone, I STILL have Mark and his team come and walk the dogs because I would worry that the dogs could pull one of my parents down and they might fall or trip. My older dog gets allergy injections and they are trained to do this; they administer daily meds to both dogs and are just so loving. One time we had an emergency situation and had to leave the dog at the vet's office overnight while we went on a trip. Mark went above and beyond and picked up my dog from the vet's office and kept us updated with his aftercare. There is no way we could travel as much as we do without the love and attention the team at Creature Comforts gives our dogs. It is very important for me to trust the people who are in my house while I am away and I completely trust Mark and his team 100% and recommend them to all my friends and family. My dogs just adore them! He sends daily texts and pictures (I'm sure he would send more frequently if you'd like). Sometimes we are in another country and can not receive texts and then he sends me emails! When there have been unfortunate issues like loose stool he always lets me know and cleans up the mess! Between the allergy shots, daily allergy meds, special food that my 12 year old golden-chow mix gets and the special thyroid meds that my overweight shepherd mix gets, they are SO GREAT with administering different medications. I write out detailed instructions and they always get it right. Lastly the prices they charge are very fair. They don't charge me extra for having two dogs. I only have the same three people at my house. If there is anyone new added onto his team, Mark lets me know and I meet them beforehand (and that person gets their own alarm code). I would NEVER use another dog sitting service in Charlotte. Just LOVE THEM!!!!

I cannot, in good faith, recommend Camp Bow Wow in Fort Mill…read more We dropped off our very social 1-year-old rescue, Moose, for boarding on Friday, July 17 while we were on vacation. On Tuesday, July 21, I received a call around 1:30 p.m. informing me that Moose was favoring his leg and would be taken to the vet. I asked for pictures and provided the contact information for our veterinarian, but received a text stating that our vet was experiencing technical issues, so they took him to their veterinarian instead. We then received a call from their veterinarian, who suspected Moose had been bitten by a snake. Pictures and X-rays were sent to us, and the veterinarian recommended transferring him to an animal hospital for 24-hour observation because he was running a fever. Later that evening, after Moose had been transferred, the veterinarian called again to inform us that it was not a snake bite but an infected dog bite. The veterinarian indicated that the bite most likely occurred on Monday, July 20. Adding to our concern, while Moose was at the animal hospital on the evening of July 21, I received a text from Camp Bow Wow containing photos of him and the message: "Hi Mom, just wanted to let you know I am doing good and I love you and cannot wait to see you." Although I assume this was an automated message, given that they knew Moose was no longer at the facility and was receiving treatment at an animal hospital it was inappropriate and insensitive. I drove five hours home that night and picked Moose up from the animal hospital on Wednesday, July 22. Due to his condition, I informed Camp Bow Wow that he would not be returning for the remainder of his boarding stay and paid for his boarding from Friday through Monday. That same Wednesday, the owner told me they would review the video footage to determine what had happened. The owner called on Friday, July 24 and stated that, after reviewing the videos, nothing was observed other than normal play. When we returned from vacation, I returned her call on Sunday, July 25. I then left additional messages on July 27, July 29, and August 3, but have yet to receive a response. I also contacted Camp Bow Wow corporate on August 1 and again on August 3, with no response. In all of my messages, I have politely requested a return call to discuss the situation and have not asked for anything. I am disappointed by both the lack of response and the lack of care provided while Moose was under their supervision. I understand that dog bites can happen, but in this case the injury occurred while he was in their care, became infected, and resulted in $1,500 in veterinary expenses. I believed I had found a place where Moose would be safe and well cared for, but I now find myself looking elsewhere for daycare and boarding services.
