I don't know how she did it, but she blended my brown highlight into my natural dark black hair to compliment my skin tone perfectly. It wasn't brassy, not reddish, it is this perfect shade that looks natural and still beautiful when it grows out. I also enjoyed talking to her throughout our session! Then I text her to confirm the appointment and checked to make sure she felt comfortable with short blended styles. (not a lot of stylists do these days) and then she said that because she's never cut my hair that she couldn't get it "perfect", and immediately cancelled my appointment without another word. She did not skip a beat and went right to it with a color I "agreed" on. She was methodical on getting the color in everywhere. Then set me aside to wait. My place in San Diego has me sit for 10-15 minutes. After 30, I told her I need to see my mom at 12 and have to get rolling. She told me "3 more minutes". I was patient. Well, this is one of the best colors I've had. Great compliments from my mom and sister (who are quick to heckle me). My stylist obviously had excellent training. I was hesitant throughout but my attitude is always, it will grow back out. Ha. Now I don't want it to grow out.

My husband surprised me with a last-minute haircut and color before our wedding and told me it was his gift to me. I called around to several salons with no luck until I reached Kristen. I explained the situation to her, and even though she was fully booked, she took the time to call me back just 15 minutes later to let me know she had rearranged her schedule so she could fit me in. That alone spoke volumes about the kind of person she is. From the moment I arrived, Kristen was so kind, warm, and genuine. She even texted me directions and a map beforehand so I wouldn't have any trouble finding her studio, which is absolutely beautiful, right off Tualatin Lake with a stunning view. Over the next couple of hours, we talked, laughed, and shared stories like old friends. It didn't just feel like getting my hair done, it felt like spending time with someone who truly cared. Not only did my hair turn out perfect (the color and trim were exactly what I wanted!), but I left feeling lighter, happier, and so grateful for the experience. We live in the Clackamas area so it's a good 40 mins to get to her studio but so worth it! Place is easy to find, it's a nice building with a bunch of other little studios on it. So that's cool too.
