When you read all the reviews, you'll see many times people commenting about cuticles being cut too far and they bleed or poor shaping. On top of that, they up charge you for OPI nail polish and don't have any sign indicating that! To me that's FRAUD! If that's not enough, many don't understand English AND they're one of the most expensive places around; I experienced all these problems so be careful, ask questions, remember an $7 up charge for OPI and request only experienced manicurists that speak English.

The visit before my last I had an ingrown toenail from how the nail was cut and did not return for several months. I decided to give them another chance last month and we had a poor experience. There was one person working when my husband and I went for walk-in appointments and she had to call the other person to come do my husband's pedicure. We were told "she went shopping because it was slow". She arrived about 25 minutes later. We both received deluxe pedicures, but did not feel that they justified the extra money from a classic. And, I am very disappointed to report that I have another painful ingrown toenail from how she clipped my big toenail to a rounded cut. That visit was my last.

If they feel you like small talk, then they'll chat you up. Another plus is they support local schools in the area with fundraising. Well, the gals (and guy) who work at this Salon have a very wide variety of hours--including all day Saturday and many late evenings during the weekday. Despite the convienient scheduling, I found the general vibe and atmosphere of this place to be friendly and upbeat. Everyone is full of energy and smiling. The location is not ideal for the downtown portlander since you'd probably have to drive, but the prices are worth it. I paid way less than I was paying downtown and but the service was quicker and just as good. I love my new cut & color and will be back for more. I saw Danielle and would recommend her in a heartbeat! Be aware: all stylists/colorists must be paid in check or cash only, so come prepared.

I got a mani pedi with cat's eye gel polish treatment that turned out absolutely flawless! I have small nail beds and short nails with very arthritic hands and feet and they some how made everything look uniform and beautiful which not only requires skill but also experience! One of my toe nails was cracked pretty badly and they were still able to help shape the nail and never complained or made me feel bad for my the condition of my nails or my inflammatory situation. These people were so kind, intuitive and professional so for all of the above reasons I will not hesitate to bring my mother here in the future as well as myself for repeat business. Yes, it's a little pricey and having several technicians is unique but this shop is top notch, and was absolutely worth it in my opinion. Wouldn't you rather pay more to get quality, long lasting results? I may be easy to please but I'm hard to impress but I was definitely impressed and I'll be back!

Stay far away from this awful places inexperienced and unsanitary!…read more I came here to try it out for the first time as I moved nearby. What a big mistake it turned out to be. First time in my life it was so bad that I didn't even tip and I have no guilt over it. Person #1 came to remove polish from my dip nails. She was nice. No name badge so you don't know their names. Next this feisty madame running the place comes and says we do your toes. Okay!!! But it's someone else. I can tell she's new and has no clue what to do. I sit and put my foot in the bowl. NOOOO you can't do that? What?? They have to put a shower cap in the bowl. What an experience, having your foot in a plastic garbage bag. I'm nervously watching her as they keep coming and telling her what to do. She asks if I want my nails shorter, she clips them and has no clue how to file. At this point I just wanted to leave. As he's painting my toes with her hand shaking she has no idea how to put the light over my toes. As she shoves it against my toes I can feel all the colors scraping off. She had no clue. She only realized it when she went to switch it to the other foot, quickly filed and tried to fill that section with blobs of color. End product is uneven toes with top coat and color spillage. My toes will have to be redone. While toes are being woke d l the salon madame comes and says we do your nails now! Wtf don't I get to enjoy my pedicure! She starts doing my dip manicure, and she dipped maybe in color 2x. The color looks nothing like the rich color I picked. Start to finish less than 30 minutes. All different shapes and lengths and a color that looks like sh!t. No resemblance to the color I picked out. So I threw away 110 dollars and will have to have them redone elsewhere. To put it in perspective at my normal place this is a 2.5 hour job. Lastly, I didn't see any of the tools be sanitized they take out one file from one machine and put it back in this container. Again stay far away from this place it deserves zero stars.

It is not like your typical salon where you are immediately hit with the smell of chemicals, since they don't use any of the toxic products. Christine was my nail tech and she was very kind and professional. She helped to remove the residual acrylic I had on previously and helped me decide between Gel X vs. Builder Gel as options for my next set. She was also patient while helping me decide what color and decide I wanted. My nails turned out beautifully and exactly as I had wanted. They also feel healthy and strong which is always a good thing for someone who frequently gets their nails done. I would definitely recommend this salon for its cleanliness and professionalism, as well as the beautiful nails that you get to walk out with!
