Before you go to this nail salon, please please read the reviews. Many of their employees have very little skill in basic manicures and nail art. When you read all the reviews, you'll see many times people commenting about cuticles being cut too far and they bleed or poor shaping. On top of that, they up charge you for OPI nail polish and don't have any sign indicating that! To me that's FRAUD! If that's not enough, many don't understand English AND they're one of the most expensive places around; I experienced all these problems so be careful, ask questions, remember an $7 up charge for OPI and request only experienced manicurists that speak English. read more

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this nail salon despite it having been my go-to for several years. The visit before my last I had an ingrown toenail from how the nail was cut and did not return for several months. I decided to give them another chance last month and we had a poor experience. There was one person working when my husband and I went for walk-in appointments and she had to call the other person to come do my husband's pedicure. We were told "she went shopping because it was slow". She arrived about 25 minutes later. We both received deluxe pedicures, but did not feel that they justified the extra money from a classic. And, I am very disappointed to report that I have another painful ingrown toenail from how she clipped my big toenail to a rounded cut. That visit was my last. read more

Be aware if you are getting a traditional pedi... they will have you pick a color from a wall of mostly OPI polish. Then when you check out they will charge you $5 for choosing an OPI polish. I felt unwelcome from the moment I arrived, and I was unhappy with the quality of the nails, especially considering the $75 cost. I am a new client, so I asked up front the cost of a manicure and pedicure with gel (shellac). Classic manicure 25.00, classic pedicure was 35.00. Gel for manicure as 15.00. A general comment is that shellac shouldn't cost extra. It is not a cumbersome process anymore - and shellac (DND & OPI) are not unreasonably more expensive than regular polish. It does not take more time. I did not expect a hot oil charge for my 4 minute massage either. As for the quality, I am sharing photos right after the experience. It's unfortunate I paid 80.00 (92.00 after tip) for this. It's quite disappointing and sadly this shellac polish might not make it to the weekend... The staff are VERY nice, but I was the only person not offered something to drink. This was my experienced but they seem to have a few regulars in so maybe this was a one off... I hate leaving a 1 star review because Bridgeport Nails doesn't deserve that! The worst nail salon in the city! I booked 3 pedicures and a manicure appointments for my family yesterday. We waited 1 hour 10 minutes for the first pedicure appointment. The owner continued to take in walk ins as we waited. We requested "Citrus pedicures", at $60 each. We did not receive any special treatments even after complaining about the service. Fast forward to the end of our 2 hour 20 minute pedicures. The owner charged me $72 dollars per pedicure! I really hesitated to write this review, hoping my experience was a one-off. I didn't follow up because of the difficult communication I had during my visit. I don't often get my nails done, so I was looking forward to treating myself, especially since it was my first time at this salon. The salon itself was clean and nice, but unfortunately, the quality of my manicure was disappointing. I had trouble communicating with the nail techs, who were also assisting my friend and me. My friend got a basic one-color gel manicure, while I asked for gel with colored French tips. However, my cuticles weren't cleaned properly, and I wasn't asked about my base color. I've had French tips before and understand they cost more, but I was surprised when my manicure was finished before my friend's, even though I paid more for it. To make matters worse, when I got home, I noticed one nail had a divot in it, and the rest started chipping shortly after. I expected at least two weeks of wear from a gel manicure, but they all started chipping by day 6. read more

You'll walk out with $175+ tip for acrylic tips and they'll say design was complex. They don't warn you in advance when we show the design about the cost. They can make your cuticles bleed and I'm not sure about sanitation standards. Depending on the person doing your nails your design could be great to just ok. read more

The woman who was helping me was on the phone most of the time she did my nails, which I wouldn't typically mind, but she ended up doing a sloppy job and left cuts on 2 of my fingers. To top it all off, she didn't let me know the color I chose was a $7 up charge because it was OPI. I would have liked to know this when I was choosing a color but she didn't tell me until I was going to pay. I REALLY wanted to like them. My friend gets her nails done by Vicky and is happy with her. Unfortunately, she was out of town when I booked, so I went with the next highest rated tech-Nilly. Immediate regret... She kept pushing my to get gel, but that's not what I wanted...I never get gel on my toes. She did a sub-par job on the actual pedicure, at best (I had to file away some dead skin she missed on my heel later while I was waiting for my toes to dry). She didn't take care of my cuticles (see photo), and she didn't paint color all the way down to the base of my nail. Then, when I asked for a flower design on my big toes, it was a royal disaster (see attached). I asked for a simple design and showed her a sample of what I'm looking for. Her first one (on my left foot) was decent...not the quality I'm used to, but I was gonna let it slide. But my RIGHT toe!?! Good GOD! First off, she had to redo that one like 3 times. Honestly, I think she got frustrated and just gave up instead of actually trying to make them match. The rhinestone isn't centered (looks like she tried to after applying it, but then it smudged the polish), and the "feathering" coming off of the flower is just dots (not like the left toe). By now, I've spent an hour and a half here, for a simple classic pedicure, and Nilly's lack of attention to detail and seemingly uncaring attitude make me just want to leave...I don't have the time to ask her to fix it. So I go to leave after being told my toes are dry enough to go, and not only was the front desk lady that checked me out rude, but she forced me to pay the excessive $10 fee for the nail art that was atrocious. Hopefully a manager or owner reads this and tries to make it right, because this is NOT the proper way to run a service-industry business. Soooooo disappointed. I've been here before and had an amazing experience- but not today. I came in with beautiful long nails. I had a recent break and was looking to get a basic gel manicure with a acrylic on the one I broke so the lengths matched. I left with nails that were CROOKED. They all lean to different sides and are varying lengths. One hand is a completely different length than the other. I asked her to keep them LONG and she ended up cutting all of them as short as my broken nail and STILL put the acrylic on it (completely defeating the whole purpose). The acrylic is thick, lumpy, and almost bulbous in shape. I came here excited to get my nails done but left too upset and embarrassed to even look at my own hands. ABSOLUTELY RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS FAR AS YOU CAN!!!!!! We got 2 pedis 1 fill and one full set and were charged $300 at the end for add-ons we NEVER requested!! Also they write down an itemized list of what they charge and then for the total at the bottom they actually added it up incorrectly expecting you to be stupid enough not to double-check...it worked !!! My pedi and her full set ended around 1:15... meanwhile my other daughter is on her FILL for 2 hours with her nail tech who is just learning and although her fill was $35 they added $50 for a 'reshape' wtf is that???!!!! She tried explain but just said what my daughter wants makes her high maintenance!!!! If I could give a zero, I would. My nail tech just dipped her hands into someone else's pedicure bath. She didn't bother to change her ripped gloves and the service itself was poor. The gal was nice but that was it. It was not worth $45. My toes did not have a nice clean look to it. There was polish outside my nail beds and onto my skin. Also, do not try the white wine. Normally I don't like to write reviews but you genuinely need your avoid this place. I came in with Gel-X on my nails and they just ripped the previous nails off. No acetone, no filing. I wish I had left after this but I thought I would give them some more time. Then they nicked my thumb, I thought that it happens but then instead of just letting it bleed/asking me to go wash my hand, they put nail glue over the open wound. I had them do a Gel-X set which I can often make last for over 3 weeks, but this set last me 1 weeks before cracking off or ripping off (revealing my severely damaged nails underneath). I have never had this happen with a Gel-X manicure, which I have been receiving for over two years now. Please avoid this place, I am very lucky I didn't get an infection but this nail salon is a risk to your health! read more
