Incompetent place of business my mail carrier took it upon himself to put in system that I had…read moremoved with no forwarding address bcuz I was returning mail (which is what you're supposed to do legally)that I was receiving from previous persons that lived here n apparently according to my mail carrier George I was returning too much mail (well that's his job right?) so he decided on his own without looking at the names on mail to put in system that I had moved which I never did if he would've done his job correctly n actually looked and read the names on thmail I was sending back he would've seen it was NOT my name it was the previous persons that lived here so for 2 whole months March n April we have not received any of our mail it's all been sent back to sender stating we moved n left no forwarding address bcuz we've gotten calls n emails from our creditors, utilities ,financial institutions, retirement ,life insurances , etc... asking for us to update our mailing address ? This post office is on Main Street in El Centro. It is a fairly large and modern building for the…read moresize of the town. I was surprised when we saw it. There is also a good sized parking lot plus some parking on the street. We came in at 11:00-the start of lunch rush on a Friday to weigh and get postage for our tax envelope. There was a short line but it moved pretty fast despite all the different requests. Including our complicated one since we wanted a return request but we were not mailing it today. But the woman was very nice and very helpful. And she figured out how to get it done for us. It's a post office. They are usually short handed for the number of people who come in during the rush at noon or after work. No one likes to wait in line and, luckily, we usually don't have to go here. I will even pay more to go to a UPS store to send things rather than a post office. However, we will come back to this one because it's quite nice.

Extremely Disappointing USPS Experience…read more I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service and handling of packages at this USPS location. I had a package that contained only craft charms and beads absolutely nothing perishable. USPS disposed of the package and claimed that it contained perishable items. I filed a claim to have the situation investigated, but my claim was denied. I later received a phone call stating that my package may have been damaged by another package containing "hazmat" materials. Despite being given that explanation, my claim was still denied. What makes this even more frustrating is the denial letter I received. It stated that USPS records indicated the package "was delivered as addressed." How is that possible when the tracking information clearly showed that the package was "disposed"? These two records completely contradict each other. I have also had repeated problems with packages that I drop off in the USPS drop-off box. The packages are often not scanned, and I receive no tracking updates afterward. In one particular situation, I dropped off a package and waited two weeks without receiving a single tracking update. I eventually went to the post office and asked a clerk about it. I was simply told to wait a couple more days for the tracking information to update. I did exactly that, but even after another two days, there was still no update. This is extremely frustrating, especially for someone who regularly ships packages. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what is unacceptable is the lack of accountability, conflicting information, and difficulty getting a clear and accurate explanation when something goes wrong. I should not have to constantly worry about whether my packages are being scanned, properly handled, or even accounted for after I drop them off. And when a package is disposed of, the explanation should at least be consistent with the tracking records. Very disappointing experience. USPS needs to seriously improve package handling, scanning, tracking, and customer service at this location.

I had mailed an important letter earlier that day, before they closed, and later realized that I had accidentally forgotten to include something in the envelope. I called the store after closing, not expecting anyone to answer, but Emmanuel picked up. When I explained what had happened, he was incredibly understanding and told me he would wait for me to come back so I could fix the situation. He absolutely did not have to do that. He stayed behind after closing and went out of his way to make sure I was able to get everything taken care of and my important letter mailed correctly. Throughout the entire process, he was so kind, patient, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Customer service like this is rare. Emmanuel truly went above and beyond when he could have simply told me to come back the next day. His willingness to stay late and help me meant so much, especially because the letter was important.
