Very cool area that is walkable from cruise port. Tons of stores and restaurants. I loved the water fountain show which probably only shows at certain times of day which was weird to me like at 2pm then 7pm. Very breezy I the heat made it so refreshing there. CITY TOUR STOP #4. It's almost like a farmer's market on a different level. The entire area is a delight to all senses. There are plenty of shops to choose from should you have house or souvenir needs. The beautiful ENSANADA sign is situated at the very end. And then there's that majestic flag that weighs over 300lbs - 2nd biggest in the world, according to our tour guide, Alfredo. It was a quick run (given we were a part of a tour group) but interesting, nonetheless. It's one of those places you keep in mind to visit again and walk through at your own pace. This place is da bomb! We visited a couple of weekends ago. They have anything and everything you could need for a fun weekend out with the family. Parking is a nightmare though so be aware. There is a couple of parks with playgrounds for the kiddos. There are plenty of vendors during weekends where one can buy anything from food to souvenirs for great prices. There is a stage, where people was playing music. It totally set a chilled mood and it was very enjoyable. I am not sure if they have a program scheduled or if it was open-mic. There are two sets of sprinklers to enoy. They have different movements and at night they light them up so the water fills up with color. Is super fun and the kids love it, but it also gives a perfect photo opportunity. Along the waterfront area you can rent boats to take you out to look at the sea lions or you can see the sea lions who come close to the humans hoping to get fed. At the end of the malecon area you will find the black market which has a great variety of fresh fish to buy but also restaurants that would serve the fresh fish to you. There is plenty of music everywhere so be ready for a not so quiet time. You can also find a movie theater in the back area of the malecon. Most movies are in spanish though, fyi. read more

For a nice afternoon walk after eating dinner by the sea. The malecon stretches along the coast for about a mile or more. There are multiple vendors and store fronts to order a drink and food/snacks. I love the sound of the waves, the salty, fresh smell, and the seagulls. The Mexican flag waves proudly above you. The children love to play with the water spouts that shoot up from the ground. When the sun starts to set, the spouts are illuminated with colors. It's unfortunate that this page doesn't allow you to upload videos. I took a snapshot from the videos I have so I could give you an idea. When the malecon gets really busy, they tend to gate the water spouts for safety reasons. Warning: You may get wet!! read more

Review 62 The Malecón de Ensenada is a little port with dozens of street vendors, you can get anything from a traditional fresh coconut to roasted corn on the cob. Ensenada is the home of the famous baja fish taco and this is where you get it! Ensenada's newly renovated malecon (boardwalk) hosts an outdoor event venue, a water fountain that lights up at night and the giant Mexican flag that welcomes everyone to its port. As you walk from the cruise ship port towards town, there are stands selling churros, snacks & drinks. You can also pick up a taxi or a horse drawn carraige near the flag, though you can walk to the main drag a few blocks up. There are boats that offer a cruise around the port for $2/person when they get a full boat, and at the very end there are the fish taco stands! There's also the fish market which is worth a walk through to sample the smoked marlin & tuna. All the fish taco stands look the same, they are all fresh and delicious! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! read more

This place is absolutely awesome. There are many places to eat at. Inside each little restaurant there's a band playing and enough room to dance. It's a great place for the family, couples, and/or just friends! The light show and the boat ride were our favorite. It feels safe and we will most likely be going back. read more

They have little outdoor snack stands. I likd to get a fresh coconut, and esquite (corn in a cup). The walk is pretty short, would have liked it longer. Lots of seating areas and little shops. read more
