I took my vehicle to this shop after another shop told me my issue would probably cost close to $2000 and only dealerships would work on my type of vehicle. I called and was told to bring it in and they would be happy to check it out. After not a very long time I believe it was Ralph gave me a call and let me know it was not as major nor as expensive as the other place assumed. My car needed to pass smog so he went above and beyond helping me make sure it passed. He could have easily hustled me for a lot as that was what I was expecting to spend instead he was genuinely honest and saved me a lot of money. He also referred me to an excellent smog shop. Car was not passing smog went in for a check up. Spoke to Ralph about my problem. Every other shop was giving me the run around trying to get me to spend money on unnecessary things. Ralph look at my car, got the codes that was showing up. With a quick inspection he noticed that my air intake hose was cracked. Told me I can save money by doing it myself. Dropped off my rig, told the guy I thought I needed new lower control arm bushings and rear springs. . . Showed him how much play there was in the back suspension. Told him it was rocking on the freeway side to side. The owner called me back and said "your front differential is shot! I don't even want to test drive this thing on the freeway, it's like a bomb waiting to explode!" He then told me "I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but it will be about 3 thousand for the job" I asked him if a new differential would solve my problem of rocking side to side on the freeway, and I assured him my car was not going to explode. He eventually gave up the attempted scam job and inspected the car. . . Called me back and said I needed new lower control arms ams away bar end links. . . I asked for New springs to be installed as well because the rear end was sagging. And against my better judgment I allowed him to do the job. . . Now the problem is my car sits higher on one side than the other. I brought it back and they said that everything was done properly, and now my car just leans to one side, and I should be ok with it . . . This place has some nice employees and the younger guys seem pretty nice. But the owner literally tried to scam me for a massive job that my truck didn't need. Had my alternator replaced after AAA towed it in. Very friendly, quick and after I choked at the cost of a top-of-the-line alternator (with no mark-up, I might add) they called around and found another top-of-the-line brand for almost half price! Got the part, replaced it and had it done within a few hours! I had just called in late that morning and had my car back in the afternoon. Wonderful service and a free ride home and then back to the shop. Always going to take my car here! And free WIFI. One last thing...they are open some Saturdays, too. I just went in this morning for three fixes. The owner spent about 20 minutes on it, including installing their provided wiper blades (I was lazy), and they charged me only $20.00! I was referred by my friend to come here for maintenance on my car, They told me the issue with my vehicle but didn't even offer to fix it, the customer service was unsatisfactory - I dropped my car off early for them to troubleshoot and expected to pick it up later in the day, they called me to let me know the problem with my car but were extremely rude and short with me over the phone and by voice message, they were also more expensive then other auto shops. They charged her $252 for the starter when SEVERAL auto parts stores in Vacaville sell the same part for around $100. Had my new clutch put into my 07 civic si 4dr and am very happy with the work done. All OEM parts and considerably cheaper than Honda. I bought my car brand new and always brought it to Honda, felt like mediocre work at very high cost. At Import Master I experienced great work at a reasonable cost. I have recently been taking my car here when I have issues. I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus R/T 3.0L. I am a woman, I never feel that I have been taken advantage of- I have at other places and never went back. My mother in law recommended this place to me. Import Master has been nothing but great to me. Earlier in the year I thought I needed new brakes, they just needed to be resurfaced. Then I had an oil leak (which Walmart in Vacaville failed to tell me until I had inquired about them taking so long), they put in a new oil pan- now leak free. Then I had my brake light, battery light, TCS light and Anti-Lock lights coming on while driving (it's been happening since Nov 2015). Diagnosed the problem immediately- got a new alternator and my car is fine now- no more lights. They had my car done in a couple if hours (not typical, but I had a couple of appts that day in the afternoon).The business is family owned and operated- they are a good family. They are also open on some Saturday's too (call ahead to be sure). If you need anything done- Import Master is the place! Thank you guys for everything! read more

When you need an oil change, they give you just that, an oil change. We have one car that the hood latch is sticks. The dealer couldn't open it even after keeping it for 4 days. I have used Import Masters multiple times for my 2005 Honda. They gave me the best price in Vacaville or Fairfield for replacing my timing belt, water pump, etc. They do not over charge for labor and they are very fair. They have a fast turnaround time. The second time I used them they replaced my alternator. My car was dropped off around 9:45am and was ready by 3pm, before I was off work. The people are friendly and you don't feel taken advantage of, like many other auto places. I would recommend them for all car engine repairs. They are fast, friendly, consistent and fair. read more

I give this place 1 star only because i can not give them 0 stars. This place is not capable of doing anything more than an oil change. My mistake was taking my car there for major work. After charging me for work that was not authorized, and they refused to honor the warranty, i won in small claims court. Unfortunately, they have not sent payment, and i doubt they ever will. I now take my cars (4) to Star Tech in vacaville. The work that they charged me for, but did not do, ended up costing me the engine in my car!. Good luck to anyone that goes here. read more

Prejudice! I went in 6 months back thinking I had a transmission problem. He didn't look at it, all he said was if I have transmission problems that he can't help me. I went to P&M in Suisun and got a transmission flush. I remembered that another car I had was starting to have this problem and if I had gotten a flush it would have saved me a lot of money. Never again will I go here. Horrible, horrible customer service skills. He missed out on what could have been a lot of money. My '03 Lexus is starting to need work with 179K miles on it, their loss. read more

Aww this place has horrible customer service. I went in there last week told the guy whats going on. My check engine light on. First off the guy calls me doesn't state who he is just says hi yea ur car I think it's ue transmission and I don't do trannies. I ask him so questions and he goes yea I drove it u can go to this place to look at my tranny. Later I realize he didn't even check my light and they offer free check engine. He didn't do anything and didn't act like he cared. Wats worse I told him I was referred with a story of a horror story with another mechanic. Had them service the van. Very Reasonable. They also do full size vehicles so I brought them my E-350 Ford. They are still well priced. A friend of mine brought her car here for an oil change and which should have only taken 20-30 minutes since the place was not that busy. After waiting half an hour she noticed that other people who arrived after her were being helped first and the only employee besides the owner was on his phone while the owner was sitting in the office on the computer. The owner kept stopping to talk on his personal phone for calls that clearly weren't work related. He also stopped to talk with people who didn't get their cars serviced and just came to hang out with him. Overall the service was slow and really unprofessional. read more

I took my car back for a warranty issue, was told to wait outside in my car, and they refused to come out and see what the problem was. DO NOT Recommend this place for brakes. Your car will leave an unsafe vehicle to drive. A couple of months ago... I returned my vehicle for them to fix the serious brake squeaks in my brand new back brake job they installed one week prior, which they said they fixed. 2 hours after I left, the squeaking started back up even worse this time. So, I had them fixed by someone else because I no longer trusted these guys. I found out that they never resurfaced the drums (a standard part of install) among several other things either not done, or done wrong. They also told me that my front brakes would last me another year. Today, a couple months after they had said this, I had to replace them. They took my money and In return, my car was unsafe, I got bad info, bad workmanship, and dealt with bad business men. Nice to your face, but poor quality workmanship behind your back. I took my truck in and dropped it off at 8am to have the check engine light checked, and the oil changed. I drove by at 10am and noticed it had been moved, but figured they still had work to do on it since they hadn't called me to tell me they were finished. At 3pm, I figured I would stop in since they were going to be closing at 5. I told them I was there to pick up my truck. At that point, the owner went out to my truck (I heard the chime for about a minute, as the driver door was open) and came back and said that his computer could not read the information from my truck (?!..weird), and I was charged for the oil change. So either the check engine light hadn't been looked at all day and I was blown off when I arrived, or it had not been touched since (no later than) 10am that morning, and I never received a phone call. The owner then told me if I can't get it figured out to bring it back, and they will check the check engine light again?! - which makes me wonder, why would their computer be able to read it if I bring it back, but wasn't able to read it today. Very shady customer service, and the thing that really bothers me is that I spent the whole day waiting for a call that I never received..and if it was checked prior to me arriving, then why wasn't I telephoned to let me know that my truck was done...??? All I know is that I will NEVER go back! My blood is boiling from the horrible customer service I received, and I am hoping that my oil truly was changed. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I have a 320 SLK Mercedes. I took it to the Mercedes dealership for its 60,000 mile checkup. They gave me a 13 page report from their diagnostic team. There was one whole page of 11 'as they put it' - "Criticle issues" that should be done immediately. Bad tires/breaks/suspension/leaking seals/ batter bad / ball joint in steering column has a crack and MUST be replaced/ on and on. I decided to decline the over $3000 costs and take my car to Import Masters. I gave them the report and asked them to go over this report and tell me what needs to be done for my car to be safe. He called me a few hours later and said I needed a new battery and fix the steering column. I asked him what about all the other things on the list? He said the oil probably blew out from underneath with the steering issue, and my car was fabulous, like new condition. I was in shock. What about the breaks/shocks/suspension/tires??? He said once he cleaned up the oil splatter there are NO oil leaks/suspension good, tires are like new/ breaks like new. At the cost of $539. I'm dumb-founded at the Mercedes for scaring me to death and that my car was falling apart and I would need all that work done. IMPORT MASTERS,,,,,,,thank you so much for your service and honosty. They could have said it all needed to be done and make the money themselves, but they didn't. They gave me a letter stating my car was in great running and immiculate condition and now I can sell it with confidence that the next buyer will be getting a beautiful & excellent running car.Thank you so much. read more
