If you have a foreign car please do not let them practice on your car. BEWARE! they are not mechanics. I originally took my car in for a coolant leak. They called themselves fixing the issue for 2 grand. Thennnnnn, one and a half weeks later, same issue. Then had a nerve to charge me another $400. and when I got my car back, it was making a sound that it wasn't before they laid their hands on it. They then said it was my brakes and rotors. I've never heard that sound for brakes and rotors in my life and I've been driving for a long time. Anyway, took it to a real MB auto mechanic shop and asked them to put on brakes and rotors. They told me that I do not need brakes and rotors but they will diagnose what the real issue is. Run , run and run. read more

I had been using Import Autohaus, Hull Street Rd for over 15 years. I have been very satisfied with their service, having spent nearly $10k. I decided to use them for some fluid changes on my 2014 Audi. Stopped at the shop to get an estimate for brake an transmission fluid change. Price for brake fluid flush was $150. Price for transmission fluid change $550. I checked other shops and got prices from Audi of $162 and $335. Seemed odd because of my 65 years of driving Corvettes, Porsches, Mercedes, Audi, and BMW I have rarely seen a dealers service price less than an independent. Took my car to Audi for services but they only had time for the transmission flush. Called Import Autohaus later in the week, mid August, as they are considerably closer, to make an appointment for brake fluid change. Got an appointment for today, September 1st. Arrived a shop at 8:15 and was told my appointment was yesterday, don't think so as I had added the date it to my device. I asked the manager if they could check a brake pin on one caliper. No! short one employee! It is on the CALIPER! where the bleed valves are located. I couldn't wait for car because 1, he didn't know when it would be completed, OK! 2, the waiting room was too small and the manager was afraid of contagion. Right, no one except me was wearing a mask. While leaving I stopped to ask a technician a question. The manager rushed in I was told I couldn't enter the shop area without his permission. Never have I EVER been so displeased with an experience before. I was referred by someone and was told they would take good care of me but they failed to do so. I walked in that place and was disappointed from the jump but decided to not judge based on the lack of customer service skills. The list goes on for miles. I will name a few things that really grinded my gears. 1.)the service "manager" asked me if a piece in my car was lifted around my gear shifter. It wasn't, the dude broke it. Luckily they fixed it and it's back to normal but I thought it was funny how he said "we will fix it, on the house, no charge. " of course you will, your mechanic broke it... 2.) they are closed ALL weekend. We took my car up to this shop THURSDAY AT 8 AM! We waited 3 hours to be told the price and that my car was going to be rejected if I didn't cough up ALL of money and do ALL of the repairs. ($800.00!!!!!) yes, that's a lot of money! that's not my issue as much as this: we left the car overnight and I was told my car would be ready on Friday. I received a call at 5:07 pm when this place of business CLOSES at 5:30 pm. In my opinion, that's incredibly I disrespectful. 3.) I ended up having to leave my car ALL weekend because I received such a LATE call on Friday right before the closing of the shop and I live a ways away, anyways. I called the shop up on Friday and explained I would have to leave the car until Monday morning(today) I needed stuff out of my car on Sunday (about 7pm on Sunday) so I went over with my spare to get the the things I needed. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Of my car doors was unlocked!! Are you kidding me? Today when I picked up my car I said "just so you know, I came to my car to get stuff out and my car doors were all unlocked" the service manager said "oh, well I'll let the technician know" WELL THANKS FOR RESOLVING THAT ONE! When I came up on Sunday and noticed that, well, At this point I was livid. How can one business lack such common sense with their customers. I work in the service industry and every customer I come in contact with, I make SURE they have a great experience. SURE, the cost sucked... (Ended up dropping 700$) But I sucked it up and accepted the fact that these repairs needed to happen. MY mechanic didn't have the decency to lock MY car doors ALL weekend. Idk if anything is missing and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if there was. My mechanic stomped over there to talk to me, rolled his eyes and wouldn't even look me IN THE EYE when he was talking about rejecting my car. No joke. I just wanted to talk to him and better understand. But he wanted NO part of that. You should keep those men in the back away from customers if they are going to be so disrespectful. I wouldn't recommend this shop to even the people I despise. I want people to TRUST the people that are working on their car. And for Christ sakes, I wouldn't want people to be in danger of loosing stuff out of their car over the weekend. I recommend Firestone on Midlothian turnpike. Never had a problem with them, ever. When I moved from the Reno NV area to Midlothian in 2013, one of the biggest challenges was finding competent, affordable service and repairs for my two, out of warranty BMWs, an X3 and a 3 series Compact. Fortunately, our new home is near the IMPORT AUTOHAUS on Hull St Rd. So far, IMPORT AUTOHAUS has handled all the scheduled major service, minor repairs, big jobs like replacing broken suspension parts and of course, our annual state inspections. All the work has been expertly done without a single problem and fairly priced. I especially like that mechanics at IMPORT AUTOHAUS discourage unnecessary service or repairs. I have a number of friends who have their German cars, including Porsche and Mercedes Benz serviced here and are universally happy with the results. read more

I am writing you about my experience to your Hull Street Import Autohaus location.  The employees were very nice and friendly but the quality of my service wasn't. I took my 2002 Mercedes c230 Kompressor to get an issue dealing with how the transmission was not shifting properly and that my gear shifter would random at point and times not shift past neutral after putting the vehicle in drive. My brother and I  have a code reader to check the Check Engine Light which popped up before bringing it to the hull street location. One of the codes it was throwing back was P0705 for the transmission range sensor circuit (PRNDL input) that we told David was what we wanted fixed on the vehicle. The other code that popped up was a P0128 stating that the coolant thermostat was acting up, but that wasn't an issue we were worried about right now. A day or two later, David called and told me that the issue causing my transmission acting up was the valve body. Trusting them that it would resolve the issue, I didn't question why they didn't fix the part I asked and proceeded to spend $1500 to proceed. They changed it, I picked it up, and not even a day later it began doing the same thing I took it there for to begin with. I called, and was told to bring it in and they would look at it again. David called back again and said they had to make a minor adjustment to the valve body, but he also informed me that they replaced my taillight without getting prior permission from me beforehand so I got charged an additional $66 for something I didn't ask them to do and I could have done myself. After paying the additional $66 for the taillight, they told me I should be good now but will need a battery soon. Two days later, the transmission goes back to doing the same thing as before, not going past neutral after going to drive, not shifting properly while in drive, and leaving me in the same position I was before spending $1566 dollars. Now, this is the third I've taken it back for this same issue. This time, David said they couldn't tell the issue until I get a new battery. Unfortunately, I had them replace it for another $300 even though I didn't want them working on my car except for the initial reason I took it there for, where I had already stated where to begin with the process due to the P0705 engine code. Again, I get a call saying I can pick it up and it was shifting fine. I picked it up Friday after work then began driving it to work the next day and the transmission still had the shifting problem! On top of that it cut off on me in the middle of me driving it. Luckily I was pulling over to do what the one of the mechanics told me to do if it happened again, but that was before the battery was replaced and I was told that I shouldn't be having these issue anymore anyway.  Now I'm out of $1866 and my car won't even run anymore since I've taken it there. I don't plan on taking it back for a fourth time because this is ridiculous for them not to even look at the error code I asked them to address. I'm sure if I did take it back they'd just find something else to charge me for that doesn't resolve my issue. Your motto should also be changed because it wasn't fixed the first time or ever in my case. read more

Brought my VW there with plenty of problems, I was wary because I brought it to the dealer who I won't mention by name but the name is a color, and they were lousy had to bring it in multiple times to get it repaired. Anyhow, I know VW's are a nuisance to work on, David assures me they had all the equipment to handle it. I picked my car up and the when I drove it I was so happy!!! It drove so good, just the pickup and the smoothness of the ride was so much better. I highly recommend Autohaus. David and the staff have incredible customer service backed by excellent work. I've had 2 different cars worked on here and had great service. Generally I take new cars back to the dealer, mostly because the dealer had extended and weekend hours and honestly a bigger nicer waiting area. Several years ago on a Honda with a bad CV joint, I took it to my Honda dealer at the time and they tried to fix it - twice - and when they failed the second time I took the car to Autohaus. I thought they might turn their nose up at my little economy Honda - they had some seriously nice cars there for work - but they were happy to service it. Most important, they got it done right and ended up cheaper than the dealer. I took their invoice back to the dealer and made them refund me for the cost to get Autohaus to do it right. So just recently I remembered them again when my current dealer made me uncomfortable, this time with up-sales every time I went in, and I started back with Autohaus. They were great, I needed the AC fan fixed and mentioned a stale smell from the AC, they used a cleaning spray to help that at no charge, and fixed the fan the same day. Then just recently when my 4 year old battery died, I used the night drop-off after they closed, and they were already started on it by the time I got them called in the morning. Very happy with their pricing, repair and maintenance. And I can live without the doughnuts at the dealer's waiting room. read more

I have never been treated so poorly on purpose. This is not the kind of auto repair mechanic you want to work with. I dropped my truck off at night for them to replace a simple driveshaft U-Joint. After not getting a call the next day I called them around 3:30pm for an update and they said they had not been able to look at it yet. They said it would be done the next day. On day two they had not called by 3pm so I called and they said they hadn't looked at it yet but it would be done that day. At 4:00pm they called and asked me what the problem was and the symptoms, I explained that the driveshaft u-joint needed to be replaced. At 4:30pm they called me back to say the U-Joint was bad and they could replace it but it wouldn't be done until the next day because they had to order the part and it would cost $250. I told them to forget it. When I went to pick my truck up nobody said sorry or anything. They just didn't care that they had wasted my time for two days. These people knew what they were doing and they just don't care. I took it home in utter frustration and amazement, bought a $30 tool that I didn't have, and replaced the $11 U-Joint in about 45 minutes. read more

Don't take your car here for service. They are incompetent fraudsters. Took my late model BMW 5 series in for a state inspection and oil change. I arrived for my 8 am appointment on-time to find the shop devoid of customers and the service bays of cars, yet they didn't bother to evaluate my car until the mid afternoon. When I was contacted, I was given a long list of repairs, despite the fact that the car was in pristine condition. Of course the most expensive ($1050) repair was the one necessary to pass inspection and not one that the average person verify was even completed. They called me at 4:51pm to tell me that my car was ready for pickup (I was told on the phone that they close at 5 pm, but a sign in the shop clearly states they close at 5:30 pm). I opted to pick up my car the next morning. The next morningI found that they didn't perform the most important service-the oil change! To summarize my experience, I wasted an entire day and was scammed for more than $1000 by the Innsbrook location of the Import Autohaus. Go somewhere else. read more

The worst , unethical crooks you ever see. I had an oil change on a VW, two weeks later the oil pressure light is on,I check the oil it's completely dry, no oil in sight. No leaks no burning fumes, nothing. So the oil evaporated or they did not put in any oil, you guess what happened. They drained the old oil and they forgot to replace it. Same people, different car at this time. State inspection, they say the found something what supports the engine block( a rubber gasket or something) and is broken, so the have to replace it, cost $ 190. Ok i said, but I need to see the new part and I need to have the old part back. 10 minutes later they tell me that they made a mistake and nothing wrong with the rubber gasket, they apologized, but what would have happened if I don't ask for the old broken part back? You know the answer. $190 for nothing, easy money. Do not go this place if you need service if you want to be safe on the road and if you don't want to be cheated on. read more

For the most part they do good work. My only complaint is some of their costs are out of line. Doing a code reading in no way should cost $90-&100. It takes about 5 min. Tops. But, I realize that other shops take advantage of this as well. The other complaint is they are VERY slow to get around to doing something as simple as an oil change. Many times I get a call late in the day that they either can't get to it or they come up with 10 other things that supposedly need done. But they get 3 stars because whenever they do the work that I've requested it's good work and good parts. read more

I brought My 2015 BMW in for a engine light on. it was for a jammed thermostat code. I told them I had already replaced the thermostat and cooling sensor. end of that day they called and said it was ready, I ask them what did they find, he said a jammed thermostat and they put a new one in. I said I told you I already replaced that. He said it was ready and that the thermostat was bad. wife drove it less than 5 miles home and engine light came back on for engine not reaching operation temp. Over $300 repair's. Took it back they replaced the Transmission cooler, Had nothing to do with the problem. Wife drove it home, engine light came back on and a drivetrain malfunction warning came on the screen with a caution light and a code for the original code P0128 plus 4 new codes. Found under the hood MAF wiring connector butchered, white wire to connector showing bare copper wire. Over a $700 charge, now I'm in for over $1000 and have more problems than started with. This shop Hull Street ,is totally clueless and incompetent on fixing anything other than a oil change. Took it to the Innsbrook store after talking to someone higher up the ladder. After they looked at it they came up with a bad ( shorted out) Front fuse box for the drivetrain malfunction with four codes which I never had till I got it back from the hull Street store. Called said it was ready, Was over $600 and I complained about how the Hull street store caused this problem, ( can not prove they did) so he came off $200 so I paid over $400. Picked it up drove it home 40 minutes, Temp never came up cold heat and engine light came back on for the original problem. Drive train malfunction caution light was gone. They fixed a problem they caused. In over $1400. Never take your car to any of these location!!!!! Should of taken it to a BMW dealer. read more

Money Trap. Took my car here for inspection and diagnose a leak. Was told the leak was due to a bad radiator, had the car repaired with a new radiator only to have it leak the next day I drove it. Due to holiday, my husband called them Monday to explain the leak was still happening. We took the car back that evening complaining to Dave that obviously the problem wasn't the radiator which cost $200.00 (just the part)." Let me take a look at it", says Dave it could be something else. Why didn't he tell us their could possibly be another problem other than the radiator? You guessed it, He comes back after maybe 15-20 minutes to tell us it is now our heater core that's leaking radiator fluid. He's going to charge $400.00 to fix it. If you can find some other place more reliable and better customer service please find it. This place charged me a total of $520.07 for a problem that was not fixed. I have to make a comment regarding Attila S. comment,,, I would assume if there was not any oil in the crankcase, it would not have driven for two weeks? I would say oil pressure warnings would come on as soon as you took the car off the lot and your engine would have made huge noise and seized. Odd, that one would take a second car after such accusatory statement. I have been coming to these folks for a decade or more. I have never had any issues, and will continue to.
