If you're thinking about getting a gift certificate from here I would ask what the policy is. I was…read moregiven a gift certificate from a friend for my birthday that expired a week after it was given to me and didn't know that when I went to use it in November. They didn't tell me it was expired while I was there, let me use half of it, then crossed out the expiration date and made it a date in expire 10/30/25. I was unaware they back-dated it because I was in a hurry to put it in my pocket since I was in rush. Fast forward to today, I went to use it and obviously it wasn't honored because of that new date. I understand that it expired and of course I'm fine not using it since it's completely my fault. It was just the most bizarre experience because 1. No one mentioned it was expired the first time I was there (which I would have been fine paying for my pedicure if someone explained that to me instead writing in a new date so couldn't use it again) Also I'm just not sure why they would give me back a gift certificate that I can't use anymore or never mention that it was expired. 2. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.) Also my nails were different lengths and the polish I used developed white spots on top (it was a light purple) With so many wonderful places in Montclair, I would definitely consider buying a gift certificate somewhere else with a longer expiration date, a more clear policy, or somewhere that will take the time to explain these dates and policies if you have an issue like I did if you are looking to purchase a gift.

This was the worst possible place to go get French tip nails... this was my first time coming here…read moreand these pictures are not even 24hrs apart from my appointment. I went in asking for mani and pedi and she started doing my nails, & not even 5 minutes in she asked me to go Pay for my service before she started which I had no problem doing, however as I was there I noticed everyone else paying after their service which I wondered why she singled me out. Nevertheless we continued with my appointment and she started my French tip. I can say it usually takes 40 minutes for me to get French when this time it took me 20 minutes and 10 of those minutes were her going back over my nail 3 times after she messed it up by adding top coat before the white tip part dried. I asked her to fix it she fixed it but kept making the same mistake which I just left alone already disappointed with the service. No complaints on the pedi part of the service because it was a different person however the mani was the worst and wouldn't recommend this business to anyone

This was my first time trying BB Nails, and I got a dip powder manicure. The girl who did my nails,…read moreJassmin, was rude from the beginning. I smiled at her when I walked in, and she gave no response. I do not like talking much during appointments, but I appreciate a little small talk so the experience does not feel so cold. She gave me nothing. The powder was extremely clumpy, and she even had to redo my thumb because of how bad it looked. Even after buffing, the nails are still clumpy and clearly were not smoothed enough. She also dipped some fingers into the powder 4-6 times. I have been getting powder gel manicures for over 3 years and have never had that happen before. There was also a lot of product left on my skin afterward, which she did not attempt to fix or acknowledge. The nails are messy, and one hand is longer than the other. At the end of the appointment, I had to ask for lotion because it was not offered. She also kept bringing my hands to the powder instead of bringing the powder to my nails, which made the process uncomfortable. Maybe my bad experience was just because of Jassmin, but because of her, I definitely will not be returning. I did not feel welcomed at all, and I honestly do not understand how this salon has a five-star rating.
