I received a gift card here from my boyfriend's mom two years ago and this has become my favorite nail spot! I love the Watchung plaza area and I usually grab a iced latte from Bluestone before I go. I like that this place is clean. Also the decor makes it a relaxing environment (water fixtures on the wall) I leave this place always happy with my manicure and pedicure. I always had issues and hated how my pedicures turn out everyplace I would go to, because I really hate my feet, except for this place. I was really proud to show off my pedicure after getting them done. I highly recommend! It's a little pricey but manicures, gel and pedicures do last long from my experience. I've never had a manicure or pedicure that's ever compared to the level imperial gives them. I leave the salon each time relaxed and happy from receiving a meticulous manicure. It may be slightly more expensive than other nail salons but every other time I have tried a different salon it is never done to such a high level. Ok so I had to wait a day or two before I left my review because I was so upset leaving this place. I paid over $100 for the worst mani pedi I have ever had. I have bloody scabs on the cuticles of my toes, there are bubbles on almost every finger, some of my finger nails aren't even full covered with the nail polish, they aren't even at all, they cured some of it to my skin and there was so little too coat left when they went to do my toes some of them weren't even fully cured!!! the list goes on. I called ahead to make a appointment they told me to come in at 5 so I showed up at 445 in case they could take me a little early because I knew they closed soon. They completely rushed everything. I had my pedi and mani done at the same time which happens sometimes I get it but it was completely disorganized. The woman doing my mani rushed everything and my nails are on a angle because of it. The woman doing my pedi couldn't do what should be done because the other woman was in the way. When all was done before I even left the pedi chair they were dumping garbage in the liner of the pedi bath. My normal nail place was closed so I went here last minute and I honestly don't know how this place is still standing in Montclair. There are like at least 100 nail salons in Montclair, do not waste your time or money here. Completely unprofessional. read more

Rude service. Wish I had listened to the negative reviews and gone elsewhere. The technicians were rude and rolled their eyes after customers left the pedicure seats. If you've been here, chances are the staff has rolled their eyes at you, too. I, too, was pushed around from station to station and, to top it off, without my knowledge I was up-sold on a facial. When I went to the register, the staff were such bullies to me. I truly felt scammed. In the future, I will support another business that values customer service. read more

Eh. I didn't have an awful experience like others did with rude women, but they weren't exactly overly nice either. I just felt like I was shuffled through and wasn't anything special...which is not really what I want to feel like when I'm getting pampered. Went here for a callous pedicure which is supposed take one hour and include 10 minutes of massage. The pedicurist talked to the one next to her during the entire treatment which was not very relaxing. She gave me 2 minutes of massage on each foot and rushed through the rest of the treatment. I was out the door in a half hour. The owner didn't even notice I got shorted on my treatment because he was busy joking around with the other workers. Won't be back. read more

Why is every nail place in Montclair so incredibly average? Can someone please open a nice place? Had a fine gel manicure. No cutical treatment. No exfoliation. The usual I've crowded space but slightly better than average interior decor. And it was $40!!!!!!! I pay $30 at really nice places in the city! read more

Everyone has their idea of a nice place but I have been to many spas and find this one to be quite nice and CLEAN, very important, and go there at least once a week and have for at least four years. The massage therapist rivals any I have ever used and I frequent establishments such as Bliss NY, Canyon Ranch AZ, Auberge Napa Valley California and, Mandarine Oriental NY (where I spent the whole day this past Saturday which cost over a thousand dollars - and decided NOT to get a manicure or pedicure as I knew I could get just as good of one at Imperial Nails when came home.) I am sorry these other reviewers had a negative experience but chances are someone had a off day - I assure you it's not the norm or I would not go there. I have tried almost all of the spas in Montclair, there a at least 30 other places but I keep coming here - in fact I got online to see what time they open today - so that I could schedule the manicure I chose to pass on at the Mandarine Oriental New York and saw the negative reviews and had to let others know - this is a wonderful place with very personal service and comfortable environment. Tried this place out for a manicure and pedicure based on a friend's recommendation who told me that they gave great pedicures. I typically go to nail story across the street who are pretty reliable and do a good job- but figured why not try something new? Boy was I disappointed. I got their basic pedicure with manicure which before taxes is 43 dollars. They basically scrubbed a pumice stone three times on the bottom of my foot and when I asked if they were going to use the other foot file utensil, which is standard with most pedicures, they stated that was not part of regular pedicure. And there was an up charge of 10 dollars. Also the leg massage lasted all of 1 minute total on both legs. Not to mention that My technician must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed because she was rude and rushed through the entire process. Will not be a repeat customer. Seems to me that if you sit in a plaza where there are 3 OTHER NAIL SALONS, you should really strive to do a better job at customer service, and/or quality of work, and/or price. I returned to this nail salon with a friend for the social experience. My gel manincure fill in started chipping within 3 days. By one week two nails were broken. Completely unnacceptible and if you women think that you have to get fill-ins every week, they are scamming you. A fill in should last 2 weeks and reasonably hold up for up to three weeks. This place is a joke when it comes to QUALITY. Don't be fooled by their fancy decor. They use cheap products, their prices are too high and they aren't really that nice. I understand their language and I don't like what the women say about the customers while they are working on them. They think they are being sneaky. Shame on you for ripping off your customers. I am not fooled by your illusion. read more
