They overcharged my insurance and used aftermarket parts that did not fit correctly, and parts are falling off the bumper, they kept my car 3 and half weeks and had me pick it up unfinished because the grill did not fit . If you look at my other reviews, you'll see I do my best to be fair. Imperial Beach Auto deserves 5 stars and here's why: I scraped the front bumper on my BMW and it wasn't pretty. So I took it in to IBA and had Roger look at it. He gave me a fair assessment and a fair price, so we set up a tentative day to bring it in the following week. I called a day ahead, as he had asked, and confirmed everything. I got the car back a day later, as promised, and the price was as agreed. In fact, everything was handled in a friendly, professional manner. I can't say enough about Roger's dependability and quality of work at IBA. One more thing. Not only did they take care of the scrape, but they went ahead and fixed a couple of other bumper dings while they were at it, no extra charge. Taking your car in for anything can be stressful. I took my Mustang here after being involved in an accident that left the entire left side of my car wrecked. I had received quotes from various other body shops in the area and these guys quoted me at half of what anyone else wanted. Other places quoted me at $2500 dollars, but here I was quoted at $900. The whole time, I never felt pressured and felt that I was leaving my car in good hands. Why not a 5 star rating? They had to basically replace the entire left panels on my car and the paint doesn't quite match. You can't really tell from a distance but up close you can see that it's not quite the same. SCAMMERS ! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I came to get a fallen window replaced & it was a nightmare. Tried to charge me $300 for a used part... when I ended up getting a brand new one for $75 LOLLL was not paying attention, ended up ordering the wrong part... dragging it into a whole week project when originally, they said 2 days tops. Mistakes happen I understand.... but the owner guy was beyond rude when I asked for a refund... even tho I did agree to pay for labor... just decided to not get the full job done there because of what a hassle it ended up being. I did end up getting half what I paid for refunded ... but omg the whole experience was AWFUL!! On top of the owner being a complete **** & super pushy.... he admitted he just "got over having coronavirus" ... had bumpers repaired also they were suppose to replace stering rack and pinion, got car back and still made same virbration, took it back said i needed new rim paid 250 .00 for new rim. when got car back still had same problem. took it to 2 different shops and they said rack and pinion was not replaced, still leaking like crazy. also they did not change rim. Worst experience ever!!! Please do not go to this shop, my car was in an accident and I made the wrong choice by bringing it here. My insurance issued a 10 thousand dollar check to them to fix my car. Before they started their "manager" Robert told me it will take them 3 weeks to fix my car and even told me the damages where only going to cost them around 3 to 4 thousand I didn't mind them taking the 10 thousand I just wanted my car fixed. My car was sitting in there shop for more that 3 months because Scott "the owner" and his employees were too busy making trips with the money they take from their customers and did not care about fixing my car. After insisting they finally "fixed" my car the first day they gave it back I was driving my kids to school in the freeway and parts just started falling apart it was very scary they have no concideration for the safety of their customer's. I should of known better not to trust in his "business" specially since the day I went to pick my car up I witnessed some employees doing lines of cocaine on their desk. My car also makes a lot of weird knocking noises every time I drive it and my electrical windows do not work because they broke something I tried contacting Scott the owner so they can do the job they got payed to do, but he just ignored my calls and messages. Its very unfair to take advantage of a person just because she is a woman that does not know much about cars but I am currently working with my lawyer and my insurance company so we can get a law sue going against this business because what they did to me is wrong and against the law and I also know there is plenty of other people suing them. This company has no regard for its neighbors or its customers. All hours of the day cars are moved and shoved in between other business's customers and employees cars. Imperial Beach auto leaves their very own customers cars on the street throughout the entire night. These vehicles are typically in various states of repair. Having had to park in this vicinity to get to work, my own vehicle has been hit and a co workers received damage due to paint overspray. The core integrity of a company is defined by how they treat others and not just a focus on profit. This type of business practices reflects a lack of ethics and community care. I know I do not stand alone and hopefully the city will begin an enforcement on making changes regarding this poor business practice. read more

So happy with Robert! I first found him when Mason's referred me to a body shop to try to fix my daughters Wrangler top that wasn't latching despite not being able to see anything bent on the top frame. I decided to get a new Quadratop which changes the top process from a two person 30 min ordeal to a one person, one hand useable convertible. Trick was getting it initially installed - Robert jumped on the opportunity and I felt was excited by the challenge. He quoted me a fair price and it was done as promised, even accommodating our tricky schedule. We then made arrangements for the hood and frame around the windshield to be repainted as the clear coat was messed up with several big splotches. I've noticed this on other jeeps. He gave me a super great price - like what I would have expected in TJ without any of the hassle and risks and OUTSTANDING quality.
