Press Pizza & Pasta was such a great find! The food was amazing. We ordered the Tagliatelle,…read morePappardelle, Bucatini, and the Toasted Raviolo pizza. Everything was delicious! I'd say it's definitely a "sharing" spot, which I love, perfect for a group of friends, but also great for solo entrées since the portions work either way. During my visit, there was a bit of a delay: our pizza dish took longer than our pastas, but our server handled it really well and stayed super sweet throughout. So, it didn't take away too much from the experience. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. I was surprised it wasn't busier, considering how great the food and service were. Just a heads-up: parking can be really tricky since it's neighborhood street parking, so if you get lucky, you get lucky. Definitely worth a visit!

Theirs is top tier, and quite inventive. First, some pillows gnocchis are latching onto the savory, salty carbonara sauce. A bit of grate ricotta(i think) and egg yolk garnish this bad boy. Tons of textures colliding so every bite is an adventure of flavor and love. They tout handmade pastas, and some stuffed pizzas. I want to try their pies, but I fear the ricotta gnocchi will have me in a chokehold for months to come! No reservations, no pretense, just good food in a cozy spot!

We decided to get some Pizza Head on 314 Day to get $3.14 slices and to sit in the dining room. Perfect service, pizza and location. Highly recommend!

Pizza Head has earned its reputation on South Grand, and the reputation is correct: this is the…read morevegan pizza to buy in St. Louis. I say that as someone who isn't vegan, who has had this pizza at parties, and who has watched the non-vegans eat all the vegan slices before the actual vegans got to them. That's not nothing. We had a slice of the dairy-cheese pie and a slice with the faux pepperoni with a couple friends. Both were satisfying: New York-style, structurally sound, full-flavored. The chocolate chip cookie at the counter is also worth tacking on. Worth flagging: you can get full pies or by the slice. That's a real asset if you don't want to be locked into committing to a whole pizza, or if you want to try two styles without ordering two pies. The vibe is the most interesting thing about the place. Pizza Head presents as punk: murals, checkered tile, a VHS-TV combo in the corner, 70s, 80s, and 90s punk rock blasting. But it's pop-punk pizza. The Blink-182 of vegan pizzerias. The aesthetic is Warped Tour; the operation is a welcoming neighborhood shop with compost signage. The most counter-cultural thing about Pizza Head is that the menu is entirely vegetarian/vegan, which is also the thing they're best at. That's not a knock. Running a vegan pizza place long enough to become an institution is its own kind of stubborn. And the pizza is likable enough that you can bring a group of mixed eaters and expect everyone to leave happy, which anyone who's fed a group with dietary restrictions knows is hard to pull off. The truth is this pizza would succeed under any theme. Strip the murals, swap the punk rock for smooth jazz, rename it Pizza Foot, and the slices still land. The Warped Tour dressing is fun, but it's incidental. Go out of your way for the pizza. It's not my favorite pizza in town, and my rubric for a 5 is whether I'd go back the same day, which I wouldn't here. But four stars is still a real recommendation: a reliable, friendly, group-proof slice that earns its reputation. What would move it up: one slice I'd cross town for. The current menu is reliable across the board, but nothing on it makes me think about it the next day. A weekly special, a sleeper combination, something that rewards the regulars and gives the rest of us a reason to come back the same day. Commit a little harder to the punk bit too; right now it's a costume the pizza doesn't need.

If you're in downtown St. Louis and craving something quick, creative, and seriously satisfying,…read moreSauce on the Side is a must-visit. Worth the wait! It has been packed with VEX Worlds. I ended up going two nights in a row, which should tell you everything you need to know. Night 1: The Fatty B This one lives up to its name--in the best way possible. Packed with flavor and perfectly balanced between savory and indulgent, every bite felt like comfort food done right. The crust was golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held everything together without falling apart. It's rich, so come hungry. Night 2: Meat Me in St. Louis Had to come back and try one of their signature options, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with meats but not overwhelming, and the flavors all complemented each other really well. It's hearty, bold, and exactly what you'd expect from something with a name like that. What really stood out both nights was the consistency--fresh ingredients, quick service, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it an easy go-to spot whether you're grabbing dinner solo or with a group of hungry robotics kids. Pro tip: Don't skip the dipping sauces--they take everything up another level. Two nights, two wins. I'd absolutely go back again.

Our wasn't busy which was a plus as we were seated immediately. The place has a really nice pizza bar setup. The seating area is comfortable with U shaped booth. I would say it's great for a nice group of people. They have a lunch and late night special for food. You can pick 3 items for $12. Pretty good deal. We all ordered a few different things so we could all try them. I will say everything we tried taste good. My pizza was a bit too crunchy on the bottom, though. Maybe they could've taken it out 1 minute sooner. The service was good. I can see why they place is popular. I will say that I left the place feeling very bloated. So much bread and cheese. Next time, I'll try the gluten free options.
