Rude, inconsiderate and shoddy work are all the words I first think of when I rate this company. I ordered a chocolate cake two days before my son's birthday and was quoted $50. Then the price changed to $75 after I asked for a few decorations including Happy Birthday but that was not on the cake when he picked it up. Instead were cheesy ugly and unappetizing things that were plopped on the cake. The worst thing of all were the way this place treated me. I asked for the time they opened in the morning and had to ask two times and they still just replied, "All Day" whatever that means. They also gave me the wrong address for pick up. My son tried to find the address they gave me and there was no such place so he had to go the next day. When I complained about the wrong address, they told me they were sorry but to do a better job of planning ahead and that the "world does not revolve around me". Simply disgusting and I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for a birthday cake. Stay away from this place. The pick up place is disgusting - a seedy convenience store and the people you deal with are rude and entitled. read more

Received a gorgeous cake for my daughter's baby shower today! It looked exactly like the picture I selected and was moist and delicious. Never ordered a cake online before so was nervous, but the personal attention I received via phone and emails was amazing! The cake exceeded our expectations in every way. My daughter had previously said that no one eats the cake anyway and she just wanted a pretty one for pictures (smdh). Yet they all ate this one! Even the fondant, which I usually hate, was moist and light and actually delicious. Somehow it was soft and creamy. Great job! read more

I ordered a custom birthday cake for my daughter's first birthday. It was very upsetting that the cake arrived very late- 45 min late !!! We had our birthday party at a place where we rented for 2 hours so basically almost for the first hour we did NOT have the cake! It arrived after all the guests and some of our guests had to leave early and they didn't even get to eat the cake. I spent more than 200$ for this and it was extremely frustrating. One of our guest also found a hair in between the layers of the cake!!! I will never order from this company and definetely not recommending anybody! First, they were very professional in responding to us quickly and they gave us all the freedom to select a photo online of the design we want for a birthday cake for our 2 year old daughter. I randomly searched for ideas on Google, sent them a photo and they were able to match the cake exactly. Not only that but the cake itself was absolutely delicious and it was beautifully made. I would give this business 0 stars if I could. Not only was the cake atrocious (it was lopsided, the wrong style, the wrong color, poorly crafted and botchy) but the delivery was close to 40 minutes late. I ended up throwing the cake away as it was so bad. The cake also smelled like crayon. The delivery driver delivered an uncovered cake that was tilting upon delivery. The delivery driver also handled my cake without wearing gloves- opened up the already open box with his bare hands started arguing with me about how it was not tilting. I haven't tasted the cake. I contacted them asking if they could do a cake for my husband's 40th birthday. I sent them pictures of three cakes and asked which could be the easiest to do in the short time frame. They said they could do all 3 and I went with a watch for $247. I chose them instead of a different vendor because they delivered the cakes and said they would deliver it by 6. The cake arrived at 7 and I still was not upset, however the quality of the design is not ANYTHING like the picture I sent and of course now it is too late to get a better cake elsewhere. I wanted a watch that looks exactly like what he wears. This cake doesn't look like any watch a 40 year old man would wear. I'm so happy I wasn't debuting this at a party. I would've been highly embarrassed and disappointed. It would be better if they gave cheaper prices and a more honest assessment of what kind of designs they could do. Imagine Cake Studio is simply the best in D.C. My mom and I decided (pretty last minute) about three days before I graduated that we wanted a custom cake to celebrate. I sent a design I made by editing a photo of a graduation cap to have my school logo and colors on it, and Chef Ron executed the design PERFECTLY and added his own magical touches to it. My mom requested a flavor that is not on the menu (Swedish Princess Cake-- a sponge cake with pastry cream, raspberry jam, and marzipan) and it was absolutely amazing. The cake not only looked beautiful, but it tasted heavenly as well. Additionally, the cake was shockingly affordable. I would absolutely recommend Imagine Cake Studio to anyone looking for a cake for an event (or a cake just for the sake of eating cake). I cannot speak more highly of the experience I had with Imagine Cake Studio. I was looking for a shop that could make a custom cake for my boyfriend's birthday party and I had what I assumed was a very complicated image that I wanted to use: a picture of an adorable grizzly bear sitting on a green pasture looking serene (don't ask). Anyway, my assumption was that at best, I would get the image put ON a cake. But what was possible and what I got from Imagine Cake Studio overshot all of my expectations. They turned the image into a 3-d cake with the actual bear fondant bear sitting on top of a coconut cake that was made green. I also got the flavors I wanted for the cake, but was able to validate my choices against the studio's judgement. Anyway, suffice it to say that it was a huge hit and I am incredibly picky about my bakeries and baked goods. I honestly am not sure how their pricing compares to other custom shops (I did some comparative analysis before settling on them but they seemed to be the most talented option in the area anyway) but given the ease of the service interactions (even to the point of home delivery!) and the precision of their work, it was worth every penny. Creative folks aren't always models of efficiency. Imagination cakes were amazing. They always responded to every inquiry immediately. They delivered it on time and took my worries away! Next, In selecting a design, they had the most creative designs for cakes I have ever seen and helped me present a bridal shower cake that had everyone oohing and aahing.
