Honestly would never come to this shop again. I came in to get my camera looked at, there was an issue with the focus. When I came in, the man working didn't so much as acknowledge my presence until I spoke up. Then he VERY CURTLY decided they couldn't look at my camera because my camera battery was dead(thank you but you don't have to be rude, especially to a potential customer) I should have just left then, but another much nicer man with red hair (the only personal who seemed to actually have customer service training) came and asked me what the issue was and (wow what a surprise) had a spare battery. I would not have gotten the camera repaired there if not Mr.NiceRedHead. When I got my camera back from being "fixed" they had replaced the grip rubber as well (I didn't realize that was part of fixing the sensor and I'm sure it added to the labor fees). And not only that, my camera was handed back in a PLASTIC BAG and WITHOUT the lens cap that was originally on the lens. When the missing lens cap was pointed out, they fished out the wrong lens cap and put it on the lens. That's just disrespectful to the camera and so unprofessional. The customer service was ridiculously horrible, the service was slow and the whole situation was a nightmare. I'm so completely dissatisfied I would give this place a zero star if possible. I'm tempted to build a time machine just so I can go back in time and never step foot in that place. Be forewarned: Go into this place with the same kind of suspicion you'd go into a random car repair shop. Your equipment deserves better. read more

John was a God-send to me. I went looking far and wide for a tripod that will work with my Matterport Videocamera but with no luck. And I really needed it same day. I found Image One on Yelp but hours of operation states that it was still closed, to open in another hour and a half. I called anyways and to my surprise, John answered the phone and took the time to find out what I need. They have the tripod that I was looking for!!! I went to the store an hour before opening as I saw John locking the store to go to his photo shoot. He was very accommodating, let me in the store, looked at my camera and sold me a $3 adapter instead of $300 tripod. I couldn't be any more grateful for the help and honesty John bestowed in me. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was told it would be 1-2 weeks for my photos to come back and never got a call or email regarding them being finished after weeks. I had to call them first, and a man answered. He seemed annoyed that I had even called, saying they probably aren't there if I hadn't got a call. I asked if he could double check for me. Sure enough they had them, they just neglected to contact me. That was the first red flag. They messed up my film development and I didn't get 22/27 of my photos, not to mention I wasn't even refunded or given an real explanation. I paid for my film to get developed and all I received was mostly blank negatives and a CD with ONE photo on it. I've gotten film developed over 15 times and this has never happened anywhere else. As a first time customer here, I'm truly so disappointed. You're literally better off going to Walgreens or CVS. read more

Quin (Quinn??) and Kyle are BY FAR the most helpful, friendly and welcoming employees at the shop. I've purchased, traded and sold items at the shop and I'm never let down. What I respect the most is the honesty. I've gone in to see the price they might give me for a camera body, and they told me flat out, I may get a better offer online (Offer Up, Facebook marketplace etc.). This a review in regards to a repair that was done on my film camera. A Minolta X-700. My previous Minolta X-700 was stolen from my car so I purchased another in great condition and was very eager to start shooting again. I put my new camera briefly in my backpack and fine sand particles from a trip to the beach somehow completely clogged my viewfinder. I was devastated but so happy to be able to have such a place nearby that could help me clean and repair it. I took my camera in on a Monday and was called that Friday with details and a price estimate. It was all ready the following Monday. It looks and works great, I am so happy! I'd like to thank everyone that has helped me on various occasions at this shop, Shadi, Oscar, the older gentleman with the earring all have been so helpful and informative. This place has a ridiculous mark up on everything! I live in the same city as this store, and buy from B&H in NYC, that has giving me free shipping on only 4 boxes of film! The only reason I went to image one, I needed film for the next day, which is marked up to a ridiculous price. And they always try to upsell you on something. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE The salesman tried to tell me there is a shortage on film, and prices went way up! And again... tried to upsell me on more then I need. If you shop around (And not on amazon, but other camera stores) you will find film, lenses, and camera's all for cheaper too. And dont bother looking at the Image One website. The prices are the same as other stores. BUT once go to the actual image one store, prices shoot up! It's there "online price?" Soo what.. they want to rip off all the locals that go into the store? AND Don't send your negatives here! It took three weeks to get mine back. While the sales man quoted a one week turn around. When I called, they blamed covid. All the while I sent other negatives to THE Dark Room and got them back in little over a week WITH POSTAGE PAID. And lets not forget the other sales man when I had to buy a battery. He tried to sell me a new camera. He was trying to convince me to sell or trade my Sony Alpha and all my lenses, for a entirely different system. I came in to have two disposables developed after having them for about a year or so. Was told that it would, at max, take two weeks which was not the case. I called a week in to see and they were not done which was understandable. Called the next week and still nothing until three days later they called me. I wasn't told until later that the film isn't developed within, but is shipped to an offsite photo lab. I opted to get the CD for $5 more but it took me a while to get them into Dropbox in my pc, do be warned. Regardless, probably won't be coming back to develop film since it took way longer than expected read more

I rated this store a 2/5 stars mainly due to the incredibly long wait time and poor customer service/communication. I waited almost 2 months for my camera to be repaired! I would call every week to ask when it will be repaired, but no one was able to give me any type of answer. They stated that it was "still sitting on the desk" but the employee that does repairs has not been in. They continued to tell me to call back in a week. I was very unhappy with their lack of communication and follow up by the establishment. I felt that if I hadn't been calling, they might have forgotten about it. Though this may not be true, I was given very little information regarding the progress of the repair throughout the 2 months to let me believe that they were even working on it. I was so incredibly frustrated. I have yet to test out the camera for myself to see if it is, in fact, fixed. But I trust that they did a quality job. I will be testing it as soon as I can. I have another camera that may need repairs but am thinking twice about coming back. read more

Frustrated on how my camera repair is being handled. I turned in my camera back on 10/19/2021 and since then no one has given me a positive update. I've called three times now and spoke with several people who said they would check with the technician and give me a call back. But no call back no email no nothing. I called again today, and was told by Eligia that the reason why I haven't gotten an updated is because it's a free repair and because it's on image one. I asked for a better update and he said he would just all me back again!!!! This is unacceptable and i'm not happy at all. I would least like an update on ETA or reason why it's taking so long. I'm losing business without my camera and this is just horrible service. I also got a call back from a lady who said she would check on it. Great right? I just recently got into videographer and photography within the last few months. When I came into image one to rent a lens for the first time it was a great experience. The store is nice & clean, everyone is friendly & greets you and is willing to help even if it's not their department. Being that I've only done rentals, Mark has been great and friendly. After my first experience renting here I kee going back and don't plan on renting from anywhere else. Prices & deals are great & very affordable. When I peak around the stuff they have for sale the staff is always willing to let me test something out even just for fun. Only come here if you really absolutely must. They need to change their policy on updating clients on repairs. The "we'll let you know once it's done" doesn't cut it AT ALL. Sent my film camera in for a repair and already paid in full the quote they gave me to get repairs started. One month goes by, no word from them. I call them and they said delayed parts shipping due to covid. Not their fault, I understand, another month goes by and no word from them I had to call again. They said it should be ready soon, I asked if the repair parts finally came in and they said "yes, we'll let you know after we ask the lab what's going on." And now weeks go by, nearing the three month mark. I had to go in person at the store to find out what's going on. Told them it's almost three months, gave them my receipt, they were taking a while to find my record of having paid for the full repair to proceed. After 20 minutes of typing around and pacing back and forth from the back of the store, computer, and their "lab guy" they just gave me a "it should be done soon, don't worry we didn't lose your camera" with a joking tone. Got my camera back, checked it, repairs were made as per request. Only small problem I had was that my viewfinder has something that moves around sometimes which wasn't there when I turned it in, otherwise it would've been noted to be looked at. On a final note, I asked how much they were selling a 3 roll pack of Kodak 400 gold film rolls for 35mm and they priced it at around $30ish dollars. SO, I will repeat what I said earlier. ONLY COME HERE FOR YOUR NEEDS IF YOU REALLY ABSOLUTELY MUST. Otherwise, I recommend spending a little on gas to venture out to other camera shops in surrounding areas. read more

The only reason I give this place a 2* is because they know their stuff..... however I go in with a cannon rebelET7 with a kit lens....the camera had a cracked screen...easily fixable...they told me that it was a big deal breaker because they had to send it to their repair guy...I asked where that was...n he said in the back...really how much could it cost to walk to the back an replace a screen that cost $25...?so in the end they bamboozled me into (writing me a check)... really...for $10 for an above average lense...that check didn't even cover the cost of gas to get there...thanks to a local woman who I came into contact with...while waiting for AAA for gas...bought the camera and was very happy about it. read more

It's great having this camera store in Riverside! It's gotten me out of little jams a few times in the past but recently got me out of a huge one! I had a wedding to shoot and needed a Canon 24-70 fast when my regular rental place forgot my reservation and wasn't able to supply me with one. I only had a couple of hours to find one and that's when I contacted Image One. Robert and John, the manager, were super friendly, professional, and really accommodating to me. John had me swing by for that 24-70 and saved my butt big time. Couldn't have successfully shot this wedding without Image One taking care of me. Thanks, Image One!! You're the best! Update 3/7/17 Even happier and more satisfied with Image One nowadays. Always friendly, very helpful, and convenient.
