They should be competitive enough to offer a lower price than the brand's service to be personable to those local camera owners. I bumped in to this camera store while having to spend 4 hours every day in riverside for my son's ABA therapy. ( I live an hour away and cannot afford to drive back home and then back to Riverside.) So, due to my age, lol, I needed some assistance with holding a camera with a heavy lens, so when I found Image One, the only camera store in Riverside county with GREAT reviews, I thought I'd gve them a try for a tripod. I purchased one for about $100, but after testing it out and noticing that I needed something more sturdier and stronger, so I went back thhe next day and traded it in for a higher priced "Manfroto 290xtra" in the $200 range made in Italy (wooooooooooo!!!) Yes, a huge difference in quality and value. It is more for video but it worked out for what I need it to do. Then I was able to afford a ballhead for it and turned into a photographer's tripod for an additional $100+. I cannot complain at all. Like my professor says, "money fixes everything", I say, find a store with affordable prices and yes, a few dollars saved is good money spent. Came to drop off film recently. Instead of driving to my usual spot in HB. And I was shocked at the turnaround rate for film development. Homie said 2 weeks? They said my Hasselblad 500cm, Leica M3, Leica R4s, Nikon D5600, some Olympus point and shoots, annnnddd my Nikon FM2 would all be bought for 800 dollars. I was tired of delayed shipments from B&H in NY and thought I had to drive all the way to Orange County or Pasadena to Samy's, which made me cringe thinking about the hours I would spend in traffic, but not anymore. My initial experience with Image One was disappointing. I sought a repair for my mirrorless camera, but they quoted an exorbitant price. Eventually, I got it fixed elsewhere at a much more reasonable cost. This negatively affected my perception of Image One. Even when I returned to sell camera gear, they attempted to undervalue my equipment, claiming my camera was worth only $200. However, I ended up selling it elsewhere for $900, highlighting their unreliable pricing practices. Interestingly, a friend brought in high-end cameras leica M3, Hasselblad 500 C/M full kits and was offered a mere $800 for both, further showing their unrealistic pricing. If you're knowledgeable about the market, it's clear that their pricing approach is unreasonable. Because of this I have no trust in a place like this and don't trust any of the positive reviews if you're like me and you don't want to waste your time don't go here If you need your film developed go to one hour photos they'll treat you right for 120 film go to pro photo factory they have a wide selection of film and they'll treat you right! I placed a $1500 deposit for an A7SIII on 9/21 because I was told over the phone they'd be getting them in the following week, pending a delivery from a warehouse. Never received a call about the status, purchased another camera from another retailer. 10/1 replied to the email with the deposit receipt asking for a refund. No reply. 11/2 called and spoke with Shadi, asked for a refund, he said sure. No refund occurred. 12/24 emailed again, asked for a refund. No reply. 12/30 initiated dispute with CC company. Been here twice, don't recommend for a newcomer in film I ended up overcharged each time. First time I came to buy some film and asked what they had. I was told to buy porta film and it wasn't till the register that I saw the price. I came here trying to get fujifilm susperia but was up sold. I didn't know how expensive porta film was but I just paid to get out. Second time I came to develop some film. Was told it was 15 per roll with cd. Ended up paying 86 for four rolls, it should've been around 63. The bag I received my negatives in even had 63 written as the total. I got nothing extra I don't even know where the 20 extra charge came from? I wouldn't recommend this place, if you come here keep an eye on the totals. read more

Customer service was alright but I am very unhappy with my repair. Came in and had my camera fixed up that took almost two months to repair just for it to have the same issue 4 months later. Came in and because I'm out of warranty (despite the issue claiming to be within warranty on the website) there is nothing they can do. Just really frustrating when you think something is fixed and turns out they didn't fix it and now I'm out 600 dollars and have to buy a new lens. Would usually recommend getting your camera gear fixed but save your money. read more

(Riverside did me dirty, I was in on Saturday about to buy a lens but unfortunately it wasn't in thier "system" yet. I was told to come back on Monday and that it would be on reserve for me. But I was told the owner of the shop bought it for his rental program.) UPDATE: I have changed my rating because the owner, Shadi, contacted me and has agreed to sell me the lens. It was simply miscommunication. I really like the way he handled the situation, he was very personal and stressed that customer service was more important than a lens. This review is for the sales staff and repair. I'll start by saying, they are way overcharging for lens repairs. Make the extra drive and Go to Fullerton Camera instead. I felt like the people there were much more honest and didn't try to rip me off. Took two lenses into Image One to be diagnosed by their repair guy. They said he had been repairing by lenses since the 80's. Both of our lenses are more expensive to buy, one being a G-master and the other being a macro. So when we went in to drop the lenses off, we made a comment that we hoped it wouldn't cost us $1000 (jokingly) to fix. We paid $15 each to have them diagnosed. We received a call back that one of our lenses was diagnosed as a circuit board issue that needed it to be replaced. It would cost $549 for our macro. I've never repaired a lens before, so I didn't know standard repair pricing. I asked if the other lens was diagnosed and she told me not yet. Why would you call with just one and not both? Made me feel like she wanted to get me to commit to one before giving me the price of the other. It felt off. I asked her to call me when the other one was looked at. She called me 3 minutes later. I feel like my assumption was right. (Red flag number 1) The G master was going to be $749 for the same problem. This was going to be over $1300 together. I felt like they took our $1000 comment and put us just over that thinking we would be ok because in our minds we had already thought it would be $1000.... I was just about to head into a session so I told them I needed a few days to think about it. My husband and I discussed it and he said he wanted to talk to the repair guy and just get an idea of why the same issue would be happening with both lenses which are used for different things. When we asked the sales team they informed us that he doesn't talk to customers, ever. Like how weird is that?? My husband immediately felt another red flag fly up. I was like, well I guess let's just do one for now, the G master...the guy said ok and gave me a total of $799. I said umm, I was told $749. He argues with me that he is right, so I say ok, what about the $15 that should be applied to the repair from our deposit. He suddenly remembered and said oh ya, so $789 (yep, $789...not 99...) minus $15. At this point I didn't even bother to correct him. I paid it and got off the phone. My husband was so upset. Said something didn't feel right. He said he wanted us to look deeper. Majority of the reviews on here are only negative for the repair part of the shop. I came here because a friend went here for rentals. I didn't look at reviews before. Someone else suggested looking into Fullerton camera because the repairs were extremely overpriced at image one. So I called Fullerton and asked about repairs for the issues I was told they had. They said that the price was a shock to them when I told them what I was being charged. They said they haven't had a repair over $300, almost ever. I immediately went back to image one and got a refund for the repair, picked up my lenses and took them to Fullerton. I was quoted $225 for EACH lens at Fullerton. Literally $900 less than image one.... I will never go back to image one. read more

They also provide expert advice on all topics to make your job easier. Both of cameras have been here for much needed TLC. Freeway access is also a benefit and there is plenty of parking space. Terrible communication and takes forever for film to get developed. Would not recommend this place to anyone. After more than a month of waiting for 1 ROLL OF FILM, emailing them frequently asking for any updates, never responding. They called me once after 2 weeks saying its gonna take another 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed and I asked for another update and no response so I at this point I just feel like this is a scam. Then after saying I want a refund they actually pay attention to me and call me saying my roll has been ready for 5 days. I asked why I wasn't updated and they said they contacted me through email, text, and phone call. I check them all on the specific date they told me and they never contacted me at all, so the girl I was taking to just completely lied to me. So I call right after and say I never got anything, and they said it was "pending" and they got the wrong email. They've contacted me before through email and phone so I know they have my information already. This place is sketchy af and do not recommend it at all.
