Spicy Pork Tonkotsu Ramen. Spiciness was about a 70 on a scale from 1-100. Bring your hankies! :-). Sofaking goood.

I stay in Madison Heights for business sporadically. I am so pumped there's a ramen cafe here. It's not pretentious or exclusive. Prices are quite fair for what they offer. Three sake selections, too! Not too loud, perfect for date night or dinner with your posse. I dare say it is kid friendly :-). I could not resist getting the spicy pork ramen (Tonkatsu). I also tried the shiitake mushroom bao buns. WOW so yummy. Servers are so friendly. I'll be back for sure.

Now this place is fantastic went in to get sushi but they don't serve sushi at all only ramen. The guy at the host desk which I got the feeling was the owner or manager was so nice . He explained they don't serve sushi just ramen and recommended a sushi place for me. Which I thought was so nice and genuine. He then told me when you're ready for ramen come back to me. So I did and when I say this is the place to stop for ramen. It was so fresh and delicious. Located in a pretty big shopping center by target off John r. My favorite ramen spot now. Not a very big place but just the right size! It's a must stop and try. The only Con is I wish they also served sushi lol.

I have had the corktown location multiple times and love it! Decided to come here after work with some co workers for happy hour and the food did not disappoint. The waiter was friendly and very helpful with answering all of our questions. The restaurant is a bit small but not bad for a weekday.

Food- we loved the ramen here. We got the tori paitan with ginger chicken and the hot chicken karaage ramen. The spicy chicken ramen was extra extra spicy, so spicy lovers beware. It was much spicier than comparable spicy chicken ramens in metro Detroit. The tori paitan broth was very rich and flavorful. Ambiance- the restaurant is clean, and decor is simple. They have ample outdoor patio seating. Service- there really is not service from a server like at a regular restaurant. Someone comes to take your order, someone else to deliver the food. We were waiting to pay for a long time, it was confusing and we almost got up and walked around looking for a staff member. It was Saturday and seemed a bit busy, so maybe it is that. Location- next to 168 Asian market, tiger sugar boba, and Yugo asian lifestyle, they have the perfect location. Overall, we liked our experience here and are likely to be back soon!

Amazing ramen here and great sides like karaage and buns. The spicy chicken karaage was excellent. They also have a rad dessert called berries and cream that is cream, corn flakes and berries plus honey - it's pretty bomb. Relatively roomy interior and excellent, very attentive service. Also located in Madison Heights, near the 168 Asian Mart. Also related to the other Ima chains near Wayne State and in Corktown. Highly recommended!

Waiter was engaging and informative. They have their own siracha. Delicious. Comes in a steel bowl to keep it hot. We also had the fried chicken wonton dumplings. SO good. Would definitely go again !

We love going to ima for a late date night! We usually go to the one in midtown, the environment is great down there and while the food was still great here i feel like the locations downtown are more inviting! Our server was so sweet and kind but the atmosphere felt off!

Seafood spicy kimchi udon

I have been here twice. Once a couple years ago and once again yesterday. Both times I left feeling the same about the restaurant. Good food. Way overpriced. For two bowls of noodles (no sides, no drinks), our bill landed over $50 (we did tip). And for $50 we weren't even seated at a table, we had to sit at a counter which generally is fine but no wait staff checked in on us and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Had to hunt people down for water multiple times. The hostess was nice but other than that service was lacking. We ordered from a QR code at our counter. The food itself was yummy. I had a spicy seafood kimchi udon and the husband had a spicy pork tonkatsu ramen (but actually subbed udon). Honestly the food presentation and taste was fine i just felt like with the amount of food they give its not worth the over $20 per bowl. I would expect that for airport prices but not at a noodle shop. Sometimes places will have a higher price point for food if the atmosphere is elevated or the vibes are meant to be appreciated. This didn't really honestly didn't seem like the case here at this restaurant. I think there are just as fine noodle restaurants in the area with more better seating, better service, and at a way cheaper price point. I would come back if other people wanted to go bc the food is good but it wouldn't be my first choice in the area.

I had heard good things about Ima and wanted to give it a try! We ordered the Spicy Pork Udon and the Pork Tonkatsu Ramen. I would say between the two DEFINITELY go for the Pork Tonkatsu Ramen. The smoked pork belly was tender and absolutely delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not overdone. The udon dish was just okay for me. It tasted good but I probably wouldn't order again and opt to try something new!

It's been a minute since I've been to Ima and back in the day (pre pandemic and not at this location), I only tried their udon and thought it was pretty good for the D! I was in the area and was craving noods so decided to stop in at Ima. It's in the 168 plaza. Appreciate that Ima is super solo dining friendly - bar tops as well as some "half picnic" tables where 2 can sit by side outside. Also, you can just order with Toast with the QR code which makes for a pretty seamless experience. While there was happy hour (daily M-F from 3-6pm, yep even on Labor Day!), I decided to show restraint and not over order for myself. So I ended up getting: * Pickle Plate - love me a good pickle plate. All was pretty good from the shiitake to the curried pickled cauli. * Spicy Tonkatsu: I added extra egg without realizing it came with a jammy egg already! Wasn't mad about it though. The broth is pretty thick and flavorful. I was worried that the ramen would be super soggy but it wasn't. It was a touch more cooked than I prefer (I like springy al denteness) but there wasn't an option to customize that. All in all, I still smashed the whole bowl and the entire pickle plate. There's soo many options in Troy but happy to see ima thriving with good quality!

I ordered take out for the spicy tori ramen not that long ago and I love ramen so I was definitely excited to try. The broth and the other ingredients were fine but the noodles tasted like pure dough, uncooked noodles. Maybe I just got bad service today but this definitely ruined my expectations for this restaurant and I will be unfortunately avoiding. Edit: I had to add my own seasoning for the broth and used my own noodles

A quieter location than downtown Ima so you don't have to wait. Taste the same as original locations. Love their broth and goes well with their noodles. They have so many varieties on their menu and all of them are good. Some are rich and some are lighter, especially the vegetables broth. They don't lack in flavor though. Get the extra soft eggs with your noodles, I think it make your meal more fulfilling My complain is their rice dish. it looks nice but there are not enough toppings like in their pictures. There are only 3 slices of fish when their pictures show a whole fillet. It is call Ima Noodles so just focus on their noodles

Tofu miso ramen.
Hank L.

Came in for dinner and ordered the Tofu miso ramen and the karaage chicken bites. The karaage was great. Crunchy exterior, juicy interior. If you like spicy, the chili oil they have packs a bit of punch if you're not used to it. The house pickles and furikake was a nice touch on the side. The miso ramen was good. Mellow flavor, toppings were everything you'd expect. Will be back again to try out the rest of the menu.

The decor of Fuji Japanese Buffet was clean but average, which made me not expect much of the food. Boy, was I surprised!! They had a huge assortment of sushi, seafood, and other dishes that were very flavorful and outright yummy! The fruit table and dessert table had great offerings, though it was hard to leave room to have any! Everything was fresh and of good quality. There is a two-hour time limit, which seemed to be short when we were there with our group, but was plenty of time for my husband and me to enjoy our meals on our subsequent visits. The staff is professional and efficient. With the place being as big and busy as it is, we understood they didn't really have time to chat or joke with us. The pricing was fair, considering the amount and the quality of food that is offered. Although the decor is outdated, the place is clean, the seating is comfortable and frankly, I like that Fuji focuses on their food. I enjoy eating there very much. Still not a fan of buffets overall, but I love Fuji Japanese Buffet. Have already recommended to friends & family; can't wait for our next trip!!

The layout includes three bars: the main bar, the sushi bar, and the tiki bar. The crab rangoon cheese katsu sticks were as good as they sound. I was worried there wouldn't be much crab, but that wasn't the case. The lobster tail robata was easy to peel, and complemented well by its accompaniments. The pork belly robata was tender, while the tare added some sweetness. Of the two, I preferred the pork belly. I've had four of the six bao buns. The chicken had a char flavor, and the steak sauce added some welcome moisture. The filet was tender, with a bold but not overbearing garlic aioli. The pork belly was also tender, glazed with a sweet honey, and balanced by some savory pickles. The sausage had a nice snap, and the Fresno peppers gave it a bit of a kick. The filet and pork belly were my two favorites. The sushi is some of the best I've had locally. The shikotsu roll (wagyu and bone marrow) was incredibly rich and buttery. $36 may seem steep, but it's the most memorable sushi roll I've ever had. The toro (fatty tuna) to caviar was also very impressive, and had soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Here's how I rank the nigiri I've tried: 1. Tamago (omelette) 2. Madai (sea bream) 3. Aji (horse mackerel) 4. Shima Aji (striped jack) 5. Ikura (salmon roe) 6. Uni (sea urchin) Lastly, for dessert, I've had the key lime pie. It was remarkably fluffy and honestly one of the best slices I've had. Simply put, TigerLily blew me away. I can confidently say it's one of my favorite restaurants in the Metro Detroit area. I'll be back soon to try the brunch, noodle, and sandwich options.

I am not great with Asian seasonings so unsure which ones they use. The ham is sweet so the Benedict is a great mix of sweet, smokey, and savory. Definitely the best I've had. I love the pancakes here. There is something unique about them I can't put my finger on. The syrup is also really good. They're even good warmed up the next day. Bloody Mary is nothing special. I wish they'd do something unique like a wasabi or kimchi version. We've been here twice for just brunch. One of my favorite places. If they had a mimosa deal, it'd be perfect.
