Bolognese pasta and filet
Marissa L.

We had an amazing first visit to il segreto. The service was exceptional our waitress was very attentive and genuinely seemed like she enjoyed making our experience memorable. When booking the reservation I put that we were celebrating our anniversary and wow, when we checked in for our reservation the hostess wished us a happy anniversary, the waitress did as well, and there was even a handwritten note wishing us a happy anniversary they placed on our table. They gave us a complimentary taste of champagne as well. I'm insane in regards to a good detail and I noticed it all. The bathroom had soft toilet paper, custom cloth napkins and a mint jar. I ordered the bolognese I'm not a huge fan of angel hair pasta and there was a surprising touch of spice to the sauce so I probably wouldn't order again but my husband thought it was amazing, I'm just a picky eater. Cocktails were also so good and unique. I wish the menu was a little bigger but again that's because I'm picky. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's gorgeous inside.

I haven't had a drink I haven't liked, you can't go wrong with any of them. The 50 first dates has become my favorite, however. For food, the milk bread is a delicious starter. The chicken tenders are also amazing. Can't wait to go back!

Based on how this place is described and marketed, we were expecting an intimate, vintage-feeling evening where we could sit down, have a cocktail, listen to jazz, and enjoy the atmosphere. That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

It is located on the trendy Market Street in DC Ranch, and has been a few places over the years my buddy who lives in the neighborhood told me. We stopped in to grab a bite and watch the NBA and NHL playoffs during the day around late lunch and things were pretty quiet. The space is really beautiful and has quite a bit of potential, however, due to where it is, and it's tax bracket this place has an older established crowd. If you're looking for a little more of a younger atmosphere downtown Scottsdale probably where you'll find it - not in DC Ranch lol. We had shrimp ceviche, and I tried fried hot buffalo wings, (which I had to being a born in Buffalo guy). I was actually incredibly surprised. The buffalo sauce was excellent for Arizona however, I asked for extra crispy and they were not kind of a big deal to me! I was able to get blue cheese with my wings, which is a Buffalo staple. also a note, the wings at this bar were better than most I could find in South Florida any day of the week. For lunch, we both had burgers I had a bacon, blue burger, and my buddy had a California burger. With sweet potato fries as a side. The burgers were on point! I was pretty hungry and this burger delivered as well as the wings. our service was OK, we were sitting at the bar, but not drinking... only iced tea. For dessert, my buddy ordered a cookie skillet, which is fresh made &!comes with ice cream. It was excellent! overall a great little spot great bar food and good TVs for watching the sports playoffs.

The price for the murder mystery was $55 which was very reasonably priced and the drinks were tasty. I did the cipher which they bring out pen and paper and you fill out how adventurous you're feeling and they will custom make you a drink. The murder mystery experience was so interactive and so much fun! If I'm honest I'd pay just for the murder mystery but the food options weren't great in flavor. The appetizer (bacon wrapped dates) only came with two small ones, and the fig app was even smaller they looked the size of peanut size m&m's. The main dishes were also not great, the skewers were lacking in flavor and the polenta had a weird texture. The tri tip just came out without any ask to cooking temp and was overcooked (well done). The dessert was probably the best tasting of the meal and it was nothing to write home about. Overall I would go out for the murder mystery but maybe hold out for a better menu.

I got a nice fruity cocktail that was sweet. I enjoyed it. Everything was reasonably priced. All of our drinks were pretty glittery, it made everything really pretty. My friend got a free glass of prosecco for her birthday which was nice. A good speakeasy to visit. Menu has good variety. Service was great, they ran through the menu with us and was attentive.

What started as a quick stop turned into such a wonderful find! I absolutely fell in love with this quaint little restaurant. It has so much charm, a cozy atmosphere, and that special feeling you get when you stumble upon a place you just know you'll want to come back to. Sometimes the best places are the ones you discover completely by accident!

I honestly don't understand all the 5-star Yelp reviews for this restaurant. After reading so many…read moreglowing reviews, we went in with high expectations and were thoroughly disappointed. The first red flag was walking into the restaurant on a Friday night and seeing only two other tables occupied and a couple sitting at the bar. The restaurant felt strangely quiet and lacked any real energy or atmosphere. That should have been our cue to turn around. We came for the first night of Restaurant Week, with a 6:30 PM reservation, and were already told that one of the prix fixe menu items, the salt fish fritters was unavailable. On the very first night. I ended up ordering the watermelon skewers instead, which were sad-looking and underwhelming. My sea bass was decent, but the pilaf was way too salty. My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops, which he described as anemic, served on a bed of mushy, tasteless rice with overly salty broccolini. For dessert, we ordered the regular-menu Burnt Basque cheesecake, and it was quite possibly the most tasteless cheesecake I've ever had. It didn't even taste like cheesecake, it was more like an egg custard. Ironically, the special bread pudding they whipped up for Restaurant Week was much tastier than the Burnt Basque cheesecake, although the outer edges of the bread pudding were burnt and hard. And then there was the service. Terrible. This was a three-course dinner that took two full hours to complete. The server never once came over to ask how the dishes tasted, and we had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled. By the end, we couldn't wait to get out of there. Overall, the food was subpar, the service was painfully slow, and the entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end. Whatever everyone else is raving about, we certainly didn't experience it. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
