Casual spot with lots of seating for pasta, appetizers, drinks, and more. Service is friendly but a bit slow. I had to get up to ask for the check after asking multiple times while seated. In terms of food, everything tasted pretty good here but the portion sizes were a bit small especially the breaded veal which came with one thin, small piece. However, the prices aren't bad here so I'd suggest either ordering family style or getting multiple courses. My brother especially enjoyed the lamb here. read more

Dog food would be better ~ I was handing out chewable Pepto Bismol to my entire family after this "meal". Awful service, completely neglected, ambiance is non-existent, and the staff couldn't care less. They never checked on our table ~ had to walk in and demand the check ~ and even a homeless person declined our leftovers ~ eventually finding a second homeless man to eat the rubber pizza that we could 't stomach. Great service and about 15 min walk from Vatican City. Open spaced restaurant, lovely decor, and many pasta choices. We shared the Caprese salad and I enjoyed the shrimp pasta. Love the dish-ware! My pasta was light cheese and pepper sauce. Very flavorful. The bread under the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese remained nice and toasty in the Caprese salad. Second night in Rome and we were looking for some authentic Italian food. Keeping in mind we had young children with us so needed to make sure we found American-kid friendly food. My friends and I had limited time (50 minutes) to eat. Before sitting down, we asked if they could serve us quickly and they said we would have our food in 10/15 minutes. My wife and I came here on a weeknight so it was pretty slow. The staff were friendly and helpful in suggesting dishes that they recommended. We ordered the seafood risotto and pizza. Highly recommend the seafood risotto. The pizza was ok, nothing special. In love! I had my first meal in Rome at this cute little ristorante near The Vatican, and I was not disappointed! The spaghetti alla carbonara, was creamy, salty, and rich with flavor. Plus the fatty bacon was just absolute perfection! Another plus, the servers were kind and attentive. The first restaurant I tried to go to was Very Italian, no tourists (pretty much the exact perfect place you want to try real Italian food), and the servers ignored my friend and I. When a server finally acknowledged us, he said "No." And the other customers (all Italian) were giving me dirty looks. So thank you so much Il Pozzetto for a fabulous lunch! That's a great restaurant very close to Piazza San Pietro. Tables outside are the best option but we couldn't get one! All places around are packed after the Sunday mass. It is also lovely inside. We ordered Lasagna (omg, what was that? The best lasagna I ate in ages!) I also tried the Strozzapreti All matriciana, it was delicious - I believe they made it there, it tasted like homemade. I had the local beer but it wasn't particularly interesting. Should have gone for the house wine instead. They had also vegetarian options. read more

We had a nice lunch time meal here. The prosciutto and melon was very good. The gnocchi was truly amazing and the fussili pesto was very good as well. The pizza's are also very tasty. It is a bit pricey as they have a truly outstanding wine cellar, and we unfortunately did not have any wine with lunch I suspect you pay a little extra in a place like thing for them maintaining such a cast wine collection. A good spot just a few blocks from the Vatican for a very good meal. If you enjoy your wine probably the best option for you. read more

Our Airbnb was across the street but we didn't eat there until our last day in Roma. My family and I ate there for lunch. We ordered 5 different dishes so we could sample everything as my mom has never been to Italy before. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything, even my mom who's the biggest critic. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for dinner 6 hours later. Veal Marsala was so tender and delicious as was the seafood risotto. 2.5 stars. This is my first ever negative review. I'll start it by stating how much I wanted to love this place. We are staying just around the corner and thought this looked like a lovely cozy place with a great menu. We walk in and the staff is professional and friendly. They seat us and take our starter and drink choices straight away. So far, so good. The bread is warm and delicious. The house wine is fine. We order the buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad to start-meh for the price, but ok. Now things take a turn. My husband got the lamb and roast potatoes. There were maybe 5 pieces of sliced roast potatoes on the plate and a large portion of mostly lamb fat and bone. The flavor was nice though. It was a poor cut of meat, especially for the price. My son got spiral pasta in pesto sauce. There's al dente and there's, well, really really al dente. We We love the former and dislike the latter. This was the latter to extreme. That said, the flavor was really nice, so it's a pity. My son ate the whole thing because he was hungry and the flavor was nice but it was a shame they didn't give it a little extra time. Then came my steak and potatoes. It was as if my husband and I had the same meal. Think mostly fat, and sadly, French fries :( on the side. Cooked nicely and great flavor, but such a poor cut of meat for the cost. The staff came by and checked on us and we discussed telling them about the pasta, but my son was 3/4ths of the way in by then, so we said it was fine. We hurried through dinner, decided we wouldn't be back, and went elsewhere for dessert. We have had some amazing meals at all price points here in Rome and this one fell short. Our hope the management reads this and takes it to heart. Bottom line-nice flavor but poor quality cuts and small details bring this place down. Expensive for pretty medium food. The waitress herself discouraged us from several dishes including the 11€ cheese plate, which another table got and was indeed tiny. Four cheese risotto was also small and just ok. Caprese salad was so sad. I started a food blog and didn't take a single picture bc it was all just bland looking and ok tasting. Bathrooms were also beyond disgusting with an inch of water on the floor and all the toilets clogged. Definitely wish we went elsewhere. read more

My wife and I went here as a second resort. We had eaten at the place across the street and loved it and was going to go back to that place again but they were closed for the night. So we decided to try this place. The food was ok, I had spaghetti carbonara, my wife had a mushroom pasta dish. Weren't bad, but definitely nothing to rave about. We have eaten at a lot of good places this past week while in Rome and this wasn't on our top list. We shared a tiramisu for dessert, it too....was ok. In addition this place was more expensive than the place we originally were going to dine. The staff is very attentive and totally sweet without even trying. The food was a 4/5: very fresh pasta, seafood, and caprese. I had the Saffron seafood linguine which was great; Pozzeto (vegetable) pizza, which was better than mediocre (very fresh and tasty veggies, though!); and Buffalo mozzarella caprese; also really great! The Merlot is also very good. It's a quiet ambiance outside which was nice one a warm March evening, and nice for a change with the other overcrowded tourist spots on the same block, which is just unnecessary. read more

After attending a papal mass which translates to getting there early, sitting and waiting for 3 hours, 2 hour mass, hot hot sun, afterwards, finding a lunch spot ... number 1 priority. Kudos to Pozzetto. My wife orders the fettuccine bolognese and it was excellent. A great balance of flavors without over powering acidity. Even on busy days, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a table and the food is consistently good--both despite being only minutes from St. Peter's Square. We went there for lunch to order food our first day. We got a pizza which was fine & pasta - spaghetti carbonara, this was awful. It was yellow as mustard and did not taste like anything I had while in Italy. The second day we went again, as the place was basically around the corner from where we stayed. This time we went with my sister and her family too. We ordered food, asked for tap water . They refused tap water and insisted we buy still "filtered" water that they bottled themselves . The food arrived - the two pizzas were burnt and hard - a major disappointment . My husband then ordered a pasta as his pizza was a let down. He the mixed chillin pepper into the small dish of parmesan we were given. One of the servers ran inside and told another server, this man came out and YELLED at us continuously for doing that. My husband explained his intent was to add it to his pasta upon arrival. NO customer should be treated this way ever . I do NOT recommend this place . We were visiting Vatican City. It was about 5:30PM. We wanted to have an early dinner. A lot of Rome restaurants close between 4-7. We started walking down this nice street with lots of restaurants. We came here. We sat in the street under umbrellas where ~24 seats. The food was great. The street ambiance Lively. The wine reasonable. The bolanaise was terrific. We would come back. We had Christmas Eve dinner here on our trip to Rome and we thought it was a great place. We chose this place because it was near the Vatican and we wanted to check out the Christmas Eve mass so we decided to have dinner here. We were able to make our reservations easily through Trip Advisor. The food wasn't the best we ate in Italy but we both thought it was good and the service was very good. We had an eggplant appetizer which we thought was great, then we had gnocchi which we thought was just ok, and then we had some beef with mushrooms which we thought was good. When we finished our dinner we were still working on our (second) wine bottle and the waitress brought us some nuts to snack on. They also gave us some traditional holiday desserts after our meal. Several of the staff kept coming by to make sure we always had what we needed. Overall we had a very nice experience here and would recommend checking this place out if you are near the area. read more

We came here for dinner on our third night in Rome. Another strike out. Honestly, I can't believe that the food here in Rome has been so bad. On my last trip to Italy, the food was amazing. My son ordered seafood risotto and I ordered eggplant Parmesana. I also ordered an Nicoise salad. When the seafood risotto and the eggplant Parmesan arrived at our table, I still had not gotten my salad. I had to remind the waitress that I ordered a salad. The salad came out several minutes later. The salad was OK, not a whole lot of the special toppings that make it a true Nicoise salad. The egg plant Parmesan was not hot, it was lukewarm and the taste was ok. My son's seafood risotto was missing the lobster. Beyond that, he said the risotto tasted like sticky, carby rice and not like seafood. I wish we had kept walking down the street, there were several cafés and restaurants down the street that seemed to have a lot of locals and we should've gone to one of those. €46 wasted. read more

If it hadn't been for the extremely rude waitresses, I'd probably give this place more stars. The food was excellent, but their service definitely needs some work. Our personal waitress lied to my friends and me about the size of the pizzas as we were looking to share. She told us that they were really small and only big enough for one person. When the pizzas came out they were actually pretty large and would have been perfect for my friend and I to share. As we're eating, they put down oil and vinegar on the table and not once, but TWICE another waitress removed it from the table while we were using it and didn't bring it back. We know when traveling that there is always a communication barrier, but both of these women spoke English very well and we felt taken advantage of. read more
