The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. I noticed that they have outdoor seating as well but we were sat inside with a candle that was lit. I also love the shrubs and flowers around the area outside. I made a reservation for a Sunday at 7pm. I wanted to try the place due to restaurant week. We were instantly seated since we had a reservation and they served us water, bread and lit the candle for us. We instantly knew what we wanted since my boyfriend and I are allergic to seafood and a lot of the food had sea food. We ordered the house salad and risotto croquette as our appetizer. The risotto croquette had an amazing sauce which was better than our entree sauce. They included two pastas on top of the croquette which is inedible but there for presentation which just seems lazy. The house salad was ok. As for our entrees, I got the steak chimichurri which had a great sauce on the side and the steak was great but small. They also included a stale chip that was dyed for presentation but when eating it, it tasted bad. My boyfriend wasn't happy with the chicken parm which I also tried. The chicken was very soggy, I prefer my chicken parm crispy. The pasta sauce was just regular and nothing special so we were disappointed. As for the dessert I wasn't a fan of the options. I got the vanilla gelato which was ok but extremely tiny and I wasn't a fan of the brownie. The best thing was the risotto croquette. The menu is pricy and for the price you would expect better quality. We were waiting for our food for an extremely long time. We spent over 2 and a half hours in the restaurant and kept asking ourselves where is our food. We finished all our food and usually we are stuffed especially for having an appetizer entree and dessert. The serving portions was very disappointing. Due to the long time waiting for the food, pricyness and not a fan of majority of the food is why I'm taking off stars from my rating. read more

Low yelp review but the simple filet mignon w/ wine reduction sauce blew me away. The service was top notch and not overbearing. First, they give you some bread and dippings, the bread is really nothing special. Ordered a bottle of wine I normally enjoy at home and it was marked up 200% (maybe I don't get out enough) but I'm expected to tack on a 20% tip to that, and pay tax on the markup oy! (Ok I'm cheap too ; ) But the entrees were not overly overpriced. The Food, appetizers and salads were very nice, my wife and I had well-prepared entrees too, so the chef clearly cares, the food was fresh the portions nice and it was presented well and was tasty. Had dinner here the other night. If you're looking to have a quick dinner then don't come here because they really take time to prepare your meal. I ordered the Arancini Bolognese to start. It's actually an arancino or is it arancina? Anyway, it's one huge risotto ball filled with meat and cheese sitting in an outstanding homemade Bolognese sauce. This dish was excellent in every way. Make sure to order this if you decide to eat here; It was excellent. Five stars for the appetizer and two stars for the main course. I went with the duck breast in "Grand Marnier" sauce. This was a poorly executed dish. Don't order this. It was too thinly sliced and the mashed sweet potatoes were the worst mashed sweet potatoes I have ever had in my life. The spinach, however, was good. Too full for dessert. The wine by the glass had a noticeably skunky taste. This is the reason why I stick with cocktails or a bottle of wine with dinner. I came here for a rehearsal dinner the past weekend. We had a pretty big party so we were seated in a room/area with multiple tables pushed together which was nice. They had sangria and red wine waiting on the table for us when we arrived. The sangria wasn't that good. It tasted like juice and soda mostly. They also only had budwiser and coors lite for beer, which I get it they aren't a beer place but still. I was seated at one end of the table which was fine but once we started filling in, it was quite stuffy. The air would turn on and off and it was quite annoying so we had to ask the staff to lower it so we can be comfortable. They started us off with a plate of tomato, a slice of mozzarella, calamari, and two stuffed shells. It was okay I wish they had a drizzle of balsamic over the mozzarella and tomato. The stuffed clams were kind of tiny, I didn't even eat mine honestly. Next we got to choose from penne alla vodka or pasta in a marinara sauce. I went with the vodka sauce it was pretty good nothing special. They put cheese down so we could put some on our selves which I liked. We had four choices to choose from for dinner, chicken francaise, veal, porkchops and salmon. I went with the chicken which was a nice sized piece and also pretty good. The sides it came with were mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The vegetables looked as if they came straight from a microwavable bag and the mashed potatoes needed more salt and pepper and butter. Overall the dinner was nice and the staff was attentive but it was just okay. None of the food really wowed me at all. read more

Not my best restaurant experience. After we were taken to our reserved table, it took at least 10 minutes to even receive a menu. AND let me tell you, I am not a Karen. I work in a restaurant as a server myself. What baffled me was that not one, but four employees were caring and paying full attention to the table beside us. I would never make any table feel secluded or less important. Even if I were to be extremely busy, I would still take 10 sedonds of my time to greet my newly sat table. The waiter was very abrupt when taking our order, he didn't even take the time to apologize or explain the immense wait to take the order. Food was decent, not worth the prices you pay. Well yesterday I visited this gorgeous little restaurant on a whim with some co-workers and Oh My God, it was phenomenal. We sat at the bar since we didn't have a reservation but it was honestly the best place to be. We got a chance to chat with the hostess, the bartender, the manager and even the chef. The service was fantastic but the food, the food gave me a mouth-gasm! We sampled at least 8 or 9 different items from the menu and each one was absolutely sensational. Lovely place, great background music. The first course went well. I had the asparagus and celery soup with crabmeat and we shared delicious baked clams. Downhill from there. Being I'm not a mashed potato fan (I've been to Italy several times and never saw mashed potatoes, I asked if I could have rice instead. I ordered the shrimp scampi which comes with spinach and mashed potatoes. The waiter said they had risotto and I said great. When I was served, there were 5 overcooked medium sized shrimp with a huge mound of insipid spinach. I like spinach, but this was tasteless. My husband ordered the filet and asked specifically "NO PARSLEY". Guess what was sprinkled all over his fish. I came here on September 15 for a rehearsal dinner. I was excited because I live in Lynbrook and haven't been here since they took over from the last restaurant in this location. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We were a large group and took up a long table on the side of the restaurant. I understand that large groups can be overwhelming, but the section is obviously there so it can be used, but I don't think this restaurant was equipped to handle it. I sat sweating the entire time after repeatedly last the staff to turn the air lower, because we were in a corner and the circulation was poor. Aside from the sweating, the beginning started out fine, wine and sangria were on the table waiting for us when we arrived. The sangria was pretty bad, just tasted like sweet juice, but the wine was fine considering it came with the large party deal. The appetizer plate included a slice of fresh mozzarella and tomato with two stuffed clams. The mozzarella was awful, it tasted like it had been sitting out all night and was disgusting. Additionally, the clams were just piles of breadcrumbs, I'm not even sure if there were actual clams in the shell. Next we were given a plate of penne with a choice of tomato or vodka sauce. I went with the vodka sauce, which was okay, but nothing special and probably the only part of the meal I liked. After this we got to choose our entre: chicken francese, veal, pork chops, or salmon. My boyfriend and I both went with the chicken, which again was just okay. I had to load it with grated cheese, salt, and pepper to get some flavor from it. All the dishes were served with a side of vegetables which looked like they took from a bag of mixed vegetables you buy at a super market and just microwaved them and threw on everyone's plate, not good. Last was the dessert. Again I'm pretty sure this tray came straight from Costco and was thrown together on a plate, nothing Italian or special about Little Bites Brownies and store-bought cookies. I won't be coming back, and although some of my bad experience might be attributed to the large party, I don't recommend this place either (at least not for a large party). It's a shame because I'm all about hoping local businesses do well, so I guess here's to hoping this business turns around and gets better! read more

We ate at il luogo last night. We were a party of 8 . The food was pretty good. The service,especially from the manager was awful. The entrees took very long to be brought out. When we questioned this the waiter laughed. The last entree didn't come out until the other seven were already eaten. In addition, Two,of the pasta sides were wrong. We asked for the manager who had no apology and regarding the pasta said "well you ate it, you must have liked it !". Regarding the entree he said" don't think you'll be getting it for free". I have never heard a manager speak this way. So rude. I would have expected him to at least offer a coffee or cappuccino with our dessert but he didn't. He had a really bad attitude. Went here for Valentine's Day. My server was exceptional knew the food and wine very well. My parents owned a restaurant, and I've worked in restaurants since I was 8-16 years old, so I have a tiny bit of experience. Used to come here, and the food was good, but the service was great. What a complete turn around! Waited 25 minutes for someone to come after we were seated and take a wine order (and I had to flag them down). Come on guys, booze is a restaurant's golden egg, ask first, keep asking, and keep it flowing! , We served our own wine glasses since no one came around, and no one asked if we wanted more! Asked for water over and over (we had a child) with no luck. I think the waiter was at our table maybe twice! I asked what the specials are, and he says "well, we haven't had Dover sole in a while, and we have it today?", really, are you kidding? When asked, push for the food you WANT to sell! Needless to say, food was not very good. They had mashed potatoes pastry bagged into a nice pretty tower on your plate, ugh! My family and I love this restaurant and it is our go-to neighborhood restaurant for special occasions. We were there mid-week for my husband's birthday and everything was delicious, as usual. I ordered the house-made pasta with the lobster and it was delicious. My husband ordered the rack of lamb special and devoured it. For dessert, we always get their creme brulee because it is so good. We coupled everything with a bottle of Coppola pinot noir and had ourselves a wonderful evening. The staff is friendly, attentive and even engaged our kids in some pokemon go conversation. On Saturday night February 11, we went to il Luogo for the first time as a group of 6. The restaurant is very comfortable and we were immediately seated at a very comfortable location. We ordered drinks, received them promptly and they were well made. At this point, our waiter seemed to be somewhat of a "wise guy" ... as the night wore on, he seemed to ignore us to a degree and was catering to a table of 2 next to us and walked right by us several times. Maybe he realized that we were not regulars... well, we certainly do not expect to become regulars. The appetizers... a soup, grilled Octopus special, Avocado tower and salads were very good and generous portions. The main courses, Chilean Sea Bass and Branzino specials, were absurdly skimpy... one fillet of each of the fish items. Definitely the smallest portions that we ever had of these items at full portion priced. Well prepared and tasty but undersized portions. Veal Saltimbucca and Scarpariello as well as the Duck special shared the same issue... good food and skimpy portions. We had to "call out loud" to the waitress to get our check as he walked right by our table 3 times. We expected a 5 star experience based on things we heard but received a 3 star meal. read more

Run from this place!!! If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. We dined as a party of four and ordered 2 bottles of wine, 2 appetizers, 4 entries and 4 desserts. The waiter forgot to put in one of the dinner entries and forgot to put in one of the desserts. We left a partial cash tip and some one a card. The next morning we check out bank account and saw that we were charged double what we left for the tip. When we called to speak with the manager he told us he had the slip in front of him and our only option is a gift card or we would have to dispute with our bank. However, he said he had a slip that we wrote on and would also fight us with the bank. The manager was insulted by our tip even though he was not our waiter and was not previously aware of the other issues that I stated at the beginning of this review. I would NOT recommend this place based on service and the fact that they decided to add a tip they saw fit to my card. We drove back to the restaurant per the managers request to look over the receipt. When we arrived the manager claims he spoke to the waiter and they are returning the tip they charged. They REFUSED to show us the bill and receipt after us asking to see it multiple times. The manager claims they did not feel that was necessary because they are giving us the money back. If that doesn't sound fraudulent, I don't know what is. Again, dine else where. read more

Only negative we had was a mixed drink was so strong it was barely drinkable, and when we ordered a glass of wine at the bar, we were given house wine instead of what we ordered, with out being told. While visiting my sisters in New York, we went to my sister's favorite restaurant Il Luogo. Being from Italuan decent, I am very skeptical about going out to eat Italian. Needless to say. I was completely blown away- it was absolutely fabulous, it was sensational!! We ate outside, and it was extremely clear they were following the Corona protocol. We had to wear masks until we were escorted to our table and our temperatures were taken before we were seated. I had the black ink pasta and stuffed artichoke.
