I wasn't hungry and just got a hamburger, but my hubby got the special. Now, honestly, I'm not a sausage gravy fan. But when the very nice and efficient waitress put my husbands plate down I couldn't believe how good it smelled. He ate one of his eggs, then took a bite of the country steak, and his eyes got huge. He offered me a bite and I stopped eating my hamburger. He ate his fill, I had 4 bites of his Country Fried Steak, then we brought home almost half of the steak, it was that big. But that wasn't enough, I had to order sausage gravy on top to make up for the lackluster sausage gravy I had the day before at our resort. Umm yeah, best $5.99 I've spent on breakfast in ages. Several clean plates later by most of my dining companions, we departed for the 3 hour drive with full bellies and later, complaints of "ugh, why did I eat all that?!" Had a few bites of my friends pancakes, which were also tasty and plentiful. Yeah, it wasn't real maple syrup, but again, you're at a bar on a Sunday morning, don't expect so much.

My fave server is Crystal but we weren't sitting in her section on this visit. The other servers are good but Crystal immediately makes you feel like you are at her house and she's taking good care of you. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Buffalo Wrap with tator tots and hubby got the Michigan Our Way Salad. There were others in our group and one of them got the Creamy Chicken Pasta special. I have to talk about that pasta dish first. I tried a bite and it was done perfectly - al dente rigatoni, with the perfect amount of white sauce, chicken, bacon, and cheese. There was a slight cheese pull when I took my bite from the dish and it tasted divine. I wish this was a regular menu item - it was light and tasty! When my order arrived, I noticed it had tomatoes in it and it did not specify that on the menu. Upon closer review, I realized they served me the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap instead so they took it back and made me the Buffalo Chix Wrap. While this has more of a casual bar atmosphere and the decor is quite aged, the food is always fresh and delicious (and huge portions!) so my rating is a 4. It does take a while for it to be prepared so don't expect to sit and eat and leave all within 30 minutes.
