Pot Roast Skillet with two eggs and homemade rye bread and their homemade preserves.

Always a dependable eating experience. Always delicious! Our family's favorite place to eat -- breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This morning's breakfast special is Village Hash. It was superb! Service is always great. Never had a bad server. Love the family atmosphere. Warm and welcoming.

Let's just start here, by saying Amazing Service. Very Friendly, hospitable staff. I haven't even tried the food yet and my mouth is already watering.

Everyday breakfast with two eggs over medium, crispy bacon, red potatoes and wheat toast. Everything was so tasty.

We stopped by this cute cafe on our way out of Alpena and it did not disappoint . The cafe is quaint and very friendly staff. Gloria was our server and was very attentive and so friendly. The food was delicious and the cinnamon roll is a must! We highly recommend this cafe.

Fish Fry Friday is a must. Hubby & I shared the Connie's catch and fried shrimp dinners. Delish coconut cream pie to top it off.

Back again for breakfast. Arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday and the dining room was almost full. Good reason; Connie serves great breakfasts. I ordered the pot roast skillet with redskin potatoes and cinnamon toast. Why change your a good thing. I believe it was even better today. My husband and ordered the same and was a happy camper. What an awesome way to start the day.

The place is great. They were very accommodating with my order. I had the Up North Salad with raspberry vinegarette dressing

Wow! I was told to come here for their awesome cinnamon rolls and breakfast...but I was surprised to see the beautiful garden (Garden of Dreams) and also met the owner, Connie, a 13 year cancer survivor. What a beautiful place and an amazing lady. (The service and food was great, too, and WOW...the huge grilled cinnamon roll was crazy good...ate the rest later for lunch)! 100% would recommend coming here if you're in the area!

Cute little cafe with excellent service, great food, lots of smiles. Looks like the ladies all are having fun that work there. We both loved our food. Must try the onion rings and huge cinnamon roll!

Always friendly staff, good food. The garden room needed a good cleaning last time I was there though.

Food is well prepared with great visuals and most importantly tastes great. Setting has a nice darker rustic comfy vibe to it with a large gas fired pizza oven going on one side with fresh and oh so tasty bread cooking away which adds a nice Italian accent to the setting. Restaurant also has a full service bar where my Old Fashioned was very well made and oh so tasty in its own right. Also just as important, especially for an Italian restaurant, they have a very nice wine list to choose from. Overall, if you are in the north eastern side of the state and your pallet leans towards fine cuisine than this is a must visit restaurant as you will not be disappointed.

So excited to try this place based on the reviews! Our cocktails (spruce smash) were great! Soups,…read moresalad and bread were delicious! Giving us such high hopes for our entrees. I had the shrimp scampi. It came with 5 small shrimp. A ton of pasta, which the pasta and sauce were really good. But for $30+ I expect more than 5 measley shrimp! When I asked the waiter he said he would ask the chef. Came back and said 4-5 based on the size of the shrimp. The other entrees at our table were over cooked and dry. Like they had been sitting under a heat light for a while. Big bummer. No management to be seen. Which is sad for the wait staff to not have back up or support. Mediocre at best. For the money, not worth it.
