This place is known for its giant grilled cinnamon rolls so we had to try one, but we also ordered an omelette. Of course the cinnamon roll was phenomenal but the omelette impressed me even more. They use real butter, fresh cracked eggs, and serve homemade jam with your toast. It really makes a difference. We got there just as it opened and it filled up quickly. I was told to come here for their awesome cinnamon rolls and breakfast...but I was surprised to see the beautiful garden (Garden of Dreams) and also met the owner, Connie, a 13 year cancer survivor. The first thing that hit me as I walked in the door was the smell of cinnamon rolls, toast and bread baking. Completely irresistible! The restaurant itself is large, open and airy. It feels very welcoming. I had the Philadelphia cheesesteak omelette. It came with toast (I had rye, but I keep forgetting that rye away from home has caraway seeds and generally isn't the kind I'm used to) and homemade jam. It wasn't huge, but it was still more than I could eat, and I ended up taking half of it with me. I had to get a cinnamon roll -- they truly are huge -- and I got some cookies to give to my family on Easter. So glad I read the reviews and came here! read more

I've had many different breakfast's here and everyone of my visits have been top notch. Connie's just knows how to do it right. There is a screened porch dining as well as the indoor area. Nice view of Connie's gardens. It's not a huge dining area but sufficient and not really noisy. It is quieter outside. Had The Popeye Omelette. It's a nice 3 egg omelette with large portions of ingredients plus potatoes and homemade bread & jam. Also we had a fried chicken sandwich with fries and coke slaw, and Old Fashioned Ham Breakfast. All were delicious and plenty to eat. Connie's is more than worth the trip but cone between 10:15 - 11:30 if you want to avoid the crowd. Weekends will have long waits. read more

Not only, were they cooked "SUPER SOFT" as we requested the inside ingredients we ordered (build your own) was truly delicious. The ham, spinach, broccoli & onions O M G...tasty as hell!!! The ham was special, as it was not dry or sliced too thin. YUM! NOTHING worse than over cooked eggs or paper thin dry ham...Connie's gets it right as they delivered a hearty scrumptious omelette. The only constructive criticism "IF I MAY" .... the avocado was "very green" ...unripe avocado is not good. Our family LOVES avocados...we were in the produce business at one point (many moons ago) & it's best not to serve at all. Unripe avocados leave a lingering unpleasant taste in one's mouth, so I skipped it. It did NOT interfere with my omelette as I asked to have it served on the side. BTW! IF you are a "cinnamon roll" fan don't miss out on their ENORMOUS cinnamon rolls as they are pretty darn tasty. A+ for service!! Highly recommend! The fish and chips were pretty solid. Nice flavorful thin/crispy batter, large portions...pretty good. Great fries, tasty coleslaw, chicken pot pie soup - excellent. Not quite the memorable fish and chips you can find in Michigan but definitely "Jones satisfying" worthy. Hope that makes sense. This is a review of the cinnamon roll only. We were craving donuts and couldn't find a local donut shop so we decided that a cinnamon roll would suffice. We had heard some great things about Connie's from some local friends and so we decided to grab a jumbo cinnamon roll for breakfast. They aren't kidding when they say it's jumbo! It was a very good cinnamon roll. Great roll to frosting ratio. When we got home we popped it in the microwave for about 25 seconds and served it along side some scrambled eggs for a great little breakfast. read more

Connie's is everything a small town breakfast diner should be with friendly folks, a strong sense of community, and an adorable population of regulars who make it a household name in the area. On a snowy late morning I couldn't have felt any more cozy. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Everything on the menu at Connie's is reasonable to include their $5.00 jumbo grilled cinnamon roll, which is enough to easily feed four people. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? So it's here that things fell a little bit short of expectation. The jumbo cinnamon roll was fine, but my breakfast with corned beef hash, eggs, hash browns and sausage was on the weak side with mediocre and soft potatoes, what tasted like canned corned beef hash, and pretty standard eggs and sausage. Everything needed hot sauce, which is typically my marker for a decent but not great breakfast. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Food is fresh, homemade, the portions are large and in charge. Each dish is made to perfection with the real fix'er up kind of feel. You can tell the food doesn't come from Gordon's food services, it's truly an authentic masterpiece. Takes you right back to how grandma used to cook. Everything on the menu is jam packed with flavor! I haven't tried anything yet that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The service was good, the place was tidy, and felt very cozy. I had the breakfast burrito and let me tell you, it is HUGE! And its smothered in gravy, so that was really the deciding factor. It was good. Not quite as over the top fantastic as I pictured, but solid win for sure. My husband had a club sandwich and said it was exactly what he wanted. We of course got a pecan cinnamon roll to go, because how could we possibly pass that up. And to be clear, we ate the cinnamon roll later so this probably isn't a fair statement since its not exactly super fresh at that point.
