Worth it for the curry rice with tonkatsu, which is so tasty and fresh. However, the service is pretty slow. Expect to wait a long time to order and then a long time to get your food (40+ min!). The staff is friendly though!

I ordered take out this time! The server kindly took my order and I waited indoors. I tried their mixed fried lunch for $16. It was fried wonderfully and it was delicious! I had two fatty oysters, two shrimp, and two pieces of salmon. It was really nice, didn't feel oily and heavy. It came with rice, no salad and soup because it was take out. Overall, it was very good and delicious. I wish they still offered salad in the take out, I feel like that's very easy to do so and all the other Japanese restaurants I did take out also came with soup too, it's not that hard.

Have been coming her for over 10 years. Consistency is good. Evenings can be a long wait, service of food can get backed up so you need to be patient. If you're not in a hurry, this is a place for good food. We love the bento choices, udon and sukiyaki dishes.

This food was made in heaven. I don't think I've ever had better sushi. The wait staff were friendly, quick and efficient. The sukiyaki was divine. The dressing on the salad was light and delicious. The miso soup balanced the right flavors. Don't let the fact that this exists in a strip mall, deter you. Once you enter the restaurant, you are transported to Japan. Everything is authentic, fresh, friendly.

Traditional Japanese cuisine with an extensive menu; inside has plenty of room with your typical sushi bar. Service efficient and friendly with smiles and answered the questions we had. Dishes very tasty, we shared which was a good approach, go check it out.

Makenouchi Bento (B)

I'm late in posting this from when I took the picture, but it is still on the menu and really delicious, the Makenouchi Bento, (B). It has tempura, tonkatsu, chicken teriyaki, and California roll. I ordered it to go, and it is a very busy place with specific/limited hours in which they are closed between lunch and dinner on weekdays and only open for dinner on weekends (and closed Mondays). It takes a while for the food to be prepared; so I went to place my to-go order and then did grocery shopping at Safeway in the same shopping center.

I love this place. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and while the service may take a bit longer, it's worth the wait. The staff are always friendly, and it's a great spot if you want to take your time, relax, and enjoy your meal. Thank you for always taking such good care of us!

My parents have been coming here for 26 years and I've been coming since I was a little kid and the food has always been really yummy and great quality. It's a cute little spot tucked behind Safeway and the waitresses are so sweet and provide great service. My favorites are the nabeyaki udon, beef teriyaki, and any of the bentos, but anything you get here will be good.

Ikenohana is a very cool Japanese spot in Beaverton. The food is decent and it is priced very well. The staff is very friendly and are actually Japanese. It's rare to find a Japanese restaurant in Portland that is owned and operated by Japanese people so I thought this was a cool aspect of this restaurant. The interior decor is pretty dated but it is nice and clean. The service times were pretty long so that left a bit to be desired.

Restaurant hours as of 2/29/24.

The food is outstanding! Service was slow but it was worth the wait. Price was very reasonable for what you get.

Have their hours changed for takeout/delivery?

I don’t know about currently, but I think about the time this question was asked, they seemed to close early. Yelp! said they were open, I drove straight there, about an hour to spare but closed. Ended up going to Toshie’s. Call ahead to be safe.

I think there's no more than 10 seats but if the weather's nice they have some outdoor seating, too. The wall had fun drawings and artwork on it which was fun to look at while waiting for the food. Staff: got our orders. Food: I got their Tori Paitan with char siu for $14. The price was reasonable with the portion they give. The char siu was fatty and the egg was runny. It was piping hot and the soup base was not bad. I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The noodles were cooked nicely. It is a little further away for me just to eat ramen and nothing was outstanding to me. In fact, I felt a little rushed and couldn't catch up with my friends because of the way the store was set up and few spots. We didn't want to keep chatting because that means other customers would have to wait. So, if you want to quickly eat some ramen, come here.

My partner and I have been craving sushi and wanted to try a new spot, Noa Sushi was heavily…read morerecommended online- and I'm so glad we gave it a try! Their menu is pretty large, with so many options to choose from if you're not really wanting sushi or just wanting to change it up a bit. We were sat down pretty promptly for a walk in at 6 pm! The space was nice to sit down with friends and loved ones for a bite to eat. We came starved, so we practically ordered the whole menu hahah. Nigiri: the salmon was superb. Very sweet, melt in your mouth, perfect mouthfeel! That was our first bite of the day and it really set the tone for the rest of what we ordered. We then had the kanpachi, madai, escolar, and ikura. I really enjoyed the madai and the escolar. Those were both buttery but had a great texture/chew. The kanpachi was fine, I wasn't expecting it to be slightly charred, but that's a personal preference! Next was the ika and the Hokkaido scallop. The Ika was delicious! Everywhere I go I always order the ika, and the Ika here was just as tasty and chewy. They added a shiso leaf with it, giving it more of a different flavor profile, slightly spiced/bitter. But I quite enjoyed that. The Hokkaido scallop was soo incredibly tasty. It was soft, bouncy, and sweet! No fishiness that can sometimes be found with scallops imo. Lastly for nigiri we got the spot shrimp. I thought this was just okay, similar to how I felt about the ikura. Not bad but there were better hits with the nigiri we ordered. Rolls: hamachico was my favorite roll we got out of the two. The yellowtail was so light tasting it almost felt like a palate cleanser with all the food we ordered, it was really good I'd order this again! The lobster roll was okay, I think the chunks of fried lobster on it was great, the base was like a slightly more elevated California roll as my partner described it. It was overall good. Negimaki: this was so so juicy with each bite and full of flavor! Would definitely order this one again. Lobster karaage: the breading to lobster was spot on. These were large fluffy chunks of lobster with just the perfect amount of crunchy breading. Paired with the spicy mayo and the tartar sauce- so delish! Miso soup: it was packed with clams, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, scallops, tofu, etc. the pot was PACKED. I didn't even get a photo, but I absolutely loved this. I'm not really a miso soup girl, but seeing how much others raved about it, we had to order it and I'm so glad we did. Best miso soup I've ever had! The star of the dinner was their ankimo, hands down. I've tried so many others, but this was so soft, creamy, perfect umami. I would've ordered seconds if we didn't have so much other food already. Overall dinner was delicious, and I definitely have my eye on so many other menu items to try next time!

I can definitely appreciate the effort it takes to make ramen, but it's not exactly a well-balanced, healthy dish, more like a hangover cure... With that being said! For me to give Lucky Ramen FIVE stars is a huge feat! My personal number 1 go-to is the Veggie Ramen w/kale noodles, spicy level 3. Dont knock it til you try it! The broth is the true definition of umami, it's savory, filled with enoki mushrooms, bok choy, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and a soft boiled egg. It's nothing short of filling! The kale noodles taste just like regular ramen noodles and to think that it has extra fiber, yes please. If the thought of a dish being vegetarian is a turn off for you, next best option is the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth is flavorful, rich, and they don't skimp on the meat and other ingredients either! The one thing I didn't like about my last visit, a little bit of micromanagement coming out of the kitchen. In all fairness, a business owner should be critical of what's being plated and served. It's a reflection of the restaurant and the way they approach food. I do not want my food to be micromanaged, I want it to be finessed. This place is clean and traditional, but the bar is also set a little low on that traditional type of experience. This place is a comfortable eatery and not much more. The cultural takeaway is washed over by Ikea lables left on soy sauce bottles, a lack of attention to detail that easily transfers from the table settings to the delivery of food. It's a local spot but not a great date night spot. I was slightly disappointed with the overall presentation and quality. For instance, what a large plate of sashimi or nigiri is brought to the table, there is no explanation and the patron is left to wonder what some pieces might be. I've always nice when the server points out my favorite pieces and maybe something I didn't know about on my plate. The pieces of fish on the nigiri were massive. Let's remember that quantity over quality is not typically what you're looking for in a dining experience.
