My partner and I have been craving sushi and wanted to try a new spot, Noa Sushi was heavily recommended online- and I'm so glad we gave it a try! Their menu is pretty large, with so many options to choose from if you're not really wanting sushi or just wanting to change it up a bit. We were sat down pretty promptly for a walk in at 6 pm! The space was nice to sit down with friends and loved ones for a bite to eat. We came starved, so we practically ordered the whole menu hahah. Nigiri: the salmon was superb. Very sweet, melt in your mouth, perfect mouthfeel! That was our first bite of the day and it really set the tone for the rest of what we ordered. We then had the kanpachi, madai, escolar, and ikura. I really enjoyed the madai and the escolar. Those were both buttery but had a great texture/chew. The kanpachi was fine, I wasn't expecting it to be slightly charred, but that's a personal preference! Next was the ika and the Hokkaido scallop. The Ika was delicious! Everywhere I go I always order the ika, and the Ika here was just as tasty and chewy. They added a shiso leaf with it, giving it more of a different flavor profile, slightly spiced/bitter. But I quite enjoyed that. The Hokkaido scallop was soo incredibly tasty. It was soft, bouncy, and sweet! No fishiness that can sometimes be found with scallops imo. Lastly for nigiri we got the spot shrimp. I thought this was just okay, similar to how I felt about the ikura. Not bad but there were better hits with the nigiri we ordered. Rolls: hamachico was my favorite roll we got out of the two. The yellowtail was so light tasting it almost felt like a palate cleanser with all the food we ordered, it was really good I'd order this again! The lobster roll was okay, I think the chunks of fried lobster on it was great, the base was like a slightly more elevated California roll as my partner described it. It was overall good. Negimaki: this was so so juicy with each bite and full of flavor! Would definitely order this one again. Lobster karaage: the breading to lobster was spot on. These were large fluffy chunks of lobster with just the perfect amount of crunchy breading. Paired with the spicy mayo and the tartar sauce- so delish! Miso soup: it was packed with clams, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, scallops, tofu, etc. the pot was PACKED. I didn't even get a photo, but I absolutely loved this. I'm not really a miso soup girl, but seeing how much others raved about it, we had to order it and I'm so glad we did. Best miso soup I've ever had! The star of the dinner was their ankimo, hands down. I've tried so many others, but this was so soft, creamy, perfect umami. I would've ordered seconds if we didn't have so much other food already. I am really glad to see so many good reviews and I don't want to yuck anyone's yum. But I was not super pleased. The prices are quite high. I get that it's 2026 but over $30 for what I got was a little steep. The food is high quality. The rice is not too heavy and it's seasoned well. I saw a couple reviews about the rice falling apart and I can definitely see that. I got the Tokyo roll. All the Ingredients sounded good so I thought why not. The whole definitely ends up is than the sum of the parts. The bonito is a bit much and all I ended up tasting was bonito. The tempura roll was good. Quality shrimp. Just a little high a price for what I got. It's very possible I have been too loyal to my steadies which have a very good value. I could see myself coming back on someone else's dime or if I was feeling extra saucy. read more

First review of 2026! This sushi reminded me of an omakase that I had, the highlight for my wife and I was definitely the nigiri. I don't normally have striped bass but it sounded delicious tonight and thankfully it was! Light and refreshing! The seared salmon nigiri that my wife had was equally as delicious and it melted in your mouth. The dessert was comparable with just the right twinge of sweetness and bitterness. As for the two rolls we ordered both were savory and salty in the right ways and the soy sauce helped amplify the flavor. There was nothing for me to complain about taste wise, and the service was amicable with the right amount of ambiance they had two celebrations the night we visited and the staff was friendly and gracious towards their customers. Truthfully I feel pretentious when reviewing places but I can honestly say that this meal was immaculate and I would definitely drive the 20-30 minutes from our place in Portland to come and visit this place again! read more

Glad to see that we have an elevated sushi spot in this plaza. What got me curious to try from here more than their sushi was their mentaiko cream udon. We came on a Friday afternoon and it was packed. The service was prompt and we got to ordering right away. I of course ordered the Mentaiko Cream Udon. They did not skimp out on the mentaiko at all, it was perfectly spicy and creamy, what a delicious combo of flavors! We were recommended by friends to meet here for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised by our dining experience here. Pro tip: do call for reservations even if you don't think you need it because they are super popular and luckily our friends got us a table during dinner time on a Thursday and we didn't have to wait but plenty of people were coming in and out to eat here. Popular place for sure! The server ladies were welcoming but efficient trying to juggle between all the tables so at times it was hard to get their attention but they were very patient with us (4 adults with a toddler and a baby). I love that they give you a little "appetizer" plate with pickles, a tiny scoop of potato salad, and a few piece of edamame. I didn't get to photograph all the food because we were hungry but we absolutely loved the himachi roll, sunrise roll, salmon ceviche, salmon nigiri, smoked salmon and avocado, and spicy tuna rolls. I cannot recommend the vegetable tempura dish they came out super light and crispy jammed with so many veggies! The salmon teriyaki was just OK for me but it does come with miso soup and rice. While it is a little on the pricier side, I do think the quality matches the price tag and you are getting fresh and top of the line seafood here. I've been wanting to try NOA sushi for a long time after hearing that they have very unique rolls. I've come a few times since my first, and I have always been VERY high on their Seared Salmon with Soy Sauce. That is my #1 recommendation. It's fatty, big, and melts in your mouth. They offer a variety of rolls and other dishes, but that dish takes the cake in my opinion. They have a very delicious Yuzu Sake that I recommend to compliment the meal. The rolls in my opinion were nothing crazy - they were good. The servers are very helpful and attentive. I came to NOA for lunch for the first time. It is located in the market place of Murrayhill, on the left side of Safeway. There are plenty of free parking lots. The interior of the store has a simple and modern feel. The staff at the restaurant are pleasant and the service is good. The lunch menu is on the last page and is only available for the weekday. I recommend the lunch specials menu for lunch because it's affordable and you can eat it a la carte. The bento box comes with salad, rice, miso soup, tempura, pickles, and more. In addition, I could choose two main dishes, so I chose three nigiri (additional $6) and tonkatsu. As shown in the photo, I couldn't finish the lunch box, but I was satisfied. Wow the food here is delicious and so fresh. The presentation is phenomenal and makes you feel like you're in quite upscale dining. Everything we had was tasty. The crispy rice was not greasy at all. The chirashi bowl felt so fresh and had a lot of variety, including uni! The creamy mentaiko udon was more liquidy than I thought it would be but it reminded me of clam chowder and was flavorful. My new favorite restaurant in my neighborhood! My family has lived off of Teal Blvd since 1992. We've seen restaurants come and go, but were never really impressed until NOA sushi opened up. Quickly it has become everyone's favorite spot to dine at between my family. My family walked up without a reservation, but I would recommend securing one if you have a larger group as this place seems popular. I enjoyed the oysters and sashimi. The fish tasted fresh. I've eaten here several times now and it's a great place to meet my wife for a lunch date. We order 2 bento boxes and take the leftovers home for dinner. Portions are large. We went on valentine's day and there was a line of people waiting for them to open at 5PM so although me and my pantna were underwhelmed, it looks like others seem to really like this place! I was hoping that it'd be better as left overs but I still experienced the same bland taste as when it was fresh. Despite being called sweet and spicy, the sauce lacked much of the spice that I was hoping for. Also, I wasn't a fan of how closely the two person tables were. I know the location is small but I felt no privacy as it felt like other customers sitting next to us were apart of our party wanting to get to know us + asking about the dishes we ordered, which isn't a problem but just a less intimate experience as I'd initially hoped for. It'll take us a few visits before I can comment on the remainder of the dinner menu. The staff is always friendly. 4.5 Simple decor and interior that is clean. Greeted and seated with a menu and cool wooden specials menu. Weekday lunch bento special for $18 is a steal so this was ordered (two sets) and the Murrayhill roll. It wasn't listed, all rolls come with 8pc unless stated differently. We got a trio of side dishes- edamame, mashed potato with peas, and konjac jelly. The Murrayhill roll was fresh and a nice start to our meal although we could not taste the spice from the spicy albacore. Our lunch bentos were brought out soon after and right away noticed the variety of tempura and quite a few more pieces. The spicy tuna also didn't have any spice to it. With time we noticed that the katsu breading was slowly falling off (kind of crumbly like), though still crispy and good. The salad was flavorful with the dressing and a large portion too. The nigiri was worth the extra charge- beautiful slices of fish, texture of rice and ratio of the fish to rice was perfect. The salmon teriyaki was also flavorful and cooked to perfection. Everything was filling as we ended up having leftovers. The staff were great! Consistently checking in, giving recommendations, great service! So I wish there was a reason for me to give my visit to NOA Sushi 2 or 3 stars. Something that was good about the visit, but sadly there isn't. Truthfully if zero stars was an option i would take that. This evening I went to Planet Fitness. I was in gym clothes and i decided that i wanted to try NOA before my workout, so I kept it light. I didn't want to be sweaty when I went to the restaurant. I did some light weights a little on the elliptical machine, did the full body spa experience, and did the massage chair. I left and drove up to the restaurant I entered at 8:25, was seated. The young woman gave me a quick overview of the menu at my request and i decided what I wanted quickly. I chose an albacore roll and the "Wow" Roll. I had already taken a few pics for this review, and was expecting to take pictures of the rolls as well. I ordered just before 8:30. I knew the restaurant closed at 9:30 and they seated me, so i thought I was good. I sat for 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes...during this time multiple tables paid and left. The restaurant wasn't full when i arrived. I heard tables saying "Thank you so much, it was delicious." and "No change please, you can keep it." I was sitting patiently at my table with my little helping of wasabi and ginger to the side, scrolling through Reddit and ESPN.com waiting for my order. I wanted to get someone's attention but I didn't. It appeared as people were confused. After more than 35 minutes the young lady came back to my table. She said "I am sorry, we had a few orders in front of yours." I was flabbergasted. If someone would have come to the table and said that 15 or 20 minutes earlier. That could have been believed. If they accidentally lost my order, they should have admitted it, sucked it up and asked me what my order was. Instead I was upset before even getting any sushi. I apologized to the young lady, she was polite and nice and it most likely wasn't her fault. I however didn't feel like waiting any longer as they hadn't even started preparing my rolls. I got up and left. This experience confuses me. Was it because I was in gym clothes? If so they should have notified me of the dress code at the door. Was it because I was by myself and not with a larger group that would guarantee a large tip? I have no idea. You know why? Because nobody COMMUNICATED with me. I had better service at the Lake Oswego yesterday. I am highly disappointed with my (lack of) experience this evening @ NOA Sushi. Hopefully management will look into this and make sure it doesn't happen again. I am not planning on making a return visit. read more
