I randomly crave their Swedish meatballs sometimes, and today was one of those days! I came after work, which was a great idea because it wasn't busy at all compared to the weekends. I ordered the 16-piece Swedish meatballs to share with my husband. It's a great deal at $12.99 and comes with mashed potatoes and peas. We also ordered two garlic toasts for $1.49 each. The meal was light but still filling at the same time. I felt like it could've used a little more salt, but overall, it was satisfying. The only thing I didn't like was that the cups for the drinks are made of paper. After a while, they started getting soggy.
I'm feel like I'm very frequently eating at IKEA...it's just super convenient. I haven't liked everything I've eaten here for lunch/dinner, but I just love getting breakfast from here for some reason. (It's only served for an hour in the mornings, and they'll run out when they get closer to the end of the hour.) I typically get their medium breakfast (served with scrambled eggs, potatoes, Swedish pancakes, lingonberry jam, and bacon). I was sad when their breakfast switched from the waffle to the pancakes, but I've since adjusted to the change. Lunch/dinner is not the greatest tasting of meals, but it's not bad. I personally think the cod, salmon, and meatballs are decent. I do not care for the falafels or plant balls. It's a large open dining area, like a cafeteria. Self-serve utensils are located near the drink dispenser Sometimes the lines are outrageously long, so I don't bother during those occasions. I'm glad it's here though. When you get tired from wandering through the IKEA maze, it's nice to have a spot to grab a quick bite to eat.
Came here on a weekend morning. The line was pretty long. It's a cafeteria style where you get a tray and get in line for the food. They were out of meatballs and we had to wait for the next batch. Service is pretty quick once you get to the front. Some items you grab yourself from the counters/shelves. Once you get your food you pay and can get your drinks and sit wherever you want. Food is a super great deal for the portion.
I don't remember this restaurant being this filthy. The floors were sticky. Most tables were not cleaned up. The soda and ice machines were not working. There was only water and coffee available. You grab a tray and get in line like you're getting school lunch. The Swedish meatballs are the star of the show. It's very good for what it is. My kids love eating here. I'd rather spend my money at the Costco food court lol. I only come here about once a year. It's a good place to eat after walking around the IKEA maze of furniture. Just be prepared to only find dirty tables.
True Swedish meals here! This cold Atlantic salmon and potato salad with arugula greens was perfect. I needed to be in and out quickly and that's why I selected the premade cold salad on such a hot day. Check out went smoothly and quickly ambience in a true cafeteria fashion.
In a nutshell; Went during a promo of 50%, honestly not quite sure why the rating's rather low, the food's awesome. Who would've taught putting a restaurant in a furniture store was a brilliant idea. It can get rather busy but theres plenty of seats and tables to go around. Not the biggest menu but what they do offer they make rather well. Do take note it's more of a cafeteria style of serving yet despite that it's really good quality food. The food isnt jam packed with sodium or any over powering flavoring. Some people may complain it's bland or that it doesnt have any taste, I think just aren't used to more subtle flavors. Light saltiness, light sweetness, theres other food options to add for other flavors yet food you can keep eating without immediately getting sick if you eat too much. Overall if youre in ikea, seems almost a necessity to stop by the restaurant for a quick bite or a hearty meal.
I love IKEA and their food court! Whenever I visit, I always have to get their Swedish meatballs. This time I also got their chicken tenders and fries to try too. It was a little dry, but had enough seasoning. Right now they have a great deal for their loyalty members. Members can enjoy 50% off on all entrees on weekdays, but it ends soon on August 29th. The workers are very sweet and hard working. They keep the food stations clean and are constantly restocking food items and plates. The layout of the food court is easy to follow and organized. I also like how they have carts readily available for people who order multiple plates! Also, if you have leftovers that you want to take home, you can pick up an eco friendly container and utensil!
The people are wonderful here and there is PLENTY of seating. The restaurant is located on the 2nd story. They have anything from salads, cake, and their famous Swedish meatballs. They also have plant based meatballs as an option. Usually plates come with meatballs of your choosing, side of mashed potatoes with gravy and peas and that's what I ordered. My wife ordered the plant based. Overall, food is pretty bland, very simple and almost seems like no seasoning but it's not horrible. I used the bbq sauce they have to give the meatballs some more flavor. Just lack of flavor. The concept is very nice, it's lunchroom style, but I think the place would do better if they could add some more pizzazz! Place is clean as well.
Unlimited hot coffee refills for $1.50! And if you sign up for ikea family pass (easy & free) the java is free! Love those huge windows.
Once or twice a year I crave the Swedish meatballs from IKEA. I've only ever been to this one so I can't compare it to other locations, but they never disappoint me. Peas aren't my favorite vegetable so I always swap them out for extra mash or fries with gravy on top. It always hits and the prices are way better than fast food.

We had always heard about IKEA and its cafeteria and finally got the chance to check it out while on a trip to visit family. The store was massive, but we found the restaurant right away on the second floor. We opted for the well-known Swedish Meatballs, Chicken Tenders, and a kids Mac & Cheese. Surprisingly, everything was pretty tasty. The amount of food was decent for the price and the fountain drinks were delicious!!! Unfortunately, a lot of the add-ons (desserts, salad, packaged drinks, etc.) were gone and apparently weren't going to be restocked so there weren't many options of food. Additionally, there was only one person serving a long line of people and it took quite a bit to get through. Overall, I would say it's a solid option of food if you need something while shopping, but I don't think I would go out of my way for it.
We had to be in West Sacramento to buy some wood at Home Depot. We decided to have lunch at the IKEA restaurant. We got there on a Sunday at around 12:30 p.m. There was a huge line for the cafeteria and it moved very slowly, first the slowdown was plating people's requested food, then the slowdown was at the cashier as there was only one. Selection of items is more limited than even the last time we were there a year and a half ago, and very much reduced from when I used to eat there regularly with friends or my book club. Most of the hot entrees are very starchy and not too healthy. I noticed an interesting salad in the cold case and decided to have it. I think it was called the Harvest Salad. It had baby kale, sweet potatoes, dried cranberries, edamame, pepitas, something yellow that may have been carrots, and sautéed onion. The possible carrot had a very strange consistency and no real flavor. I liked most of the other ingredients and it was a very healthy meal. My husband had the Swedish meatballs plate. Turns out it was 40% off for IKEA Family members, so quite the deal. There were plenty of empty tables despite the crowd. The line never let up the entire time we were there. For a quick, inexpensive meal, we will probably return the next time we are in the area. Hopefully the next time they won't be out of the chocolate cake. There were tempting pictures of it on the display menu, but not a slice in the cold case.

Recently came to the IKEA restaurant and noticed they remodeled. The interior has a modern update and better lighting. There are tons of tables, and tiny play area for kids. It can be crazy packed during the weekends, so the line takes forever. We love the little carts to carry trays. We love the meatballs, cakes, and lox salad. They usually have a seasonal item to offer as well. The meatballs, mash, and peas taste the same every time and we love that. And the lingonberry jam pairs well with the meatballs. It used to be a pretty cheap option but some of the prices have increased. We also try to get the family discount but forget half the time at check out. They have a self serve drink, utensil, and condiment station. It can get pretty messy and sparse during the busy time. After your meal, you put your dirty dishes on in the dirty tray station. The restaurant is nice stop before and after shopping, or to just sit and lounge. read more

Went on a weekend so it was busy in general, but the line was not very long - however it took a while to get through (longer than expected for the amount of people). Before you get up to the hot food counter the line passes by cold food that you take out of the refrigerated area. Here are the salads, cakes, premade food. The salads do not have dressing (you collect towards the front, but there is no signs about this that I saw we just had to figure it out). I really liked that we had the choice of 8, 12, or 16 meatballs. Then you get the gravy, jam, and a choice of broccoli or peas. I got the broccoli and 8. This was the perfect size as I also got the Caesar salad and Princess cake, as well as some cookies for later. The service..well we got served! However no one really seems very happy to be working there and weren't very friendly or helpful. I ordered the soda specifically for the lingonberry flavor. I noticed both of the machines were out. I went to inform a worker- which in itself was an issue. I was ignored by one and the other that I was able to get to just coldly stated that they were out completely. This was a let down and I also wondered why that wouldn't tell people that when ordering the soda if they knew that they were completely out...I didn't like any of the other flavors so this was a waste of money for me. I also ordered tea. I had to rummage through the green tea bags to find one black, I know I had the choice of bringing this up to a worker but I didn't see the point after the lingonberry soda issue. The princess cake was nice! It was obviously frozen before. The Caesar salad was standard and the dressing was in a premade plastic bag. The best was the meatball plate, specifically the meatballs. For the eight combination plate it was only $10, the Princess cake was two dollars and so I can't complain about the price much. I will complain about the bathrooms through. I liked that each person had their own private bathroom but every single one I opened was disgusting. I ended up using one that was the least amount of disgusting but it just didn't sit with me after eating. I also didn't see any clear signage for disability restrooms, this really bothers me. I actually had a help a stranger who needed a disability bathroom find one. I had to open up and check each open restroom before finding one that this person could use. This experience made me angry as there should be clear signage and I'm sure it wasn't pleasant for this person as they seemed in distress due to this. If the price wasn't so cheap this would have been one star, especially due to the bathroom issue. If the bathroom wasn't an issue it would have been a two. Would have been a three without the bathroom issue and if service was a bit better... read more

You come to ikea to get affordable mini tables and to walk around the huge self assembling furniture store. And then you get hungry so IKEA has a restaurant. It's cafeteria style and It makes sense for the volume of people that come there during the weekend. Today my wife wanted Swedish meatballs and they were good cafeteria style meatballs. I can see why people like them. Comfort food in a way. Mash potatoes were ok, not bad but just not something I'd rave over. And the peas were peas lol. Garlic bread was half way between garlic toast and undercooked underside, but taste wise not bad. The bad was the pasta, it was sitting for a while. Mushy, tart artificial tomato taste. You had to add salt and pepper to make it palatable. And the soda selection honestly would only appeal to certain people. I wouldn't mind eating here again but would only get the Swedish meatballs. read more

The Daily Restaurant deals for IKEA Family members have changed, now: Monday - meatless 8-piece veggie or plant ball plates $3 Tuesday - 50% off adult entrees Wednesday - Buy 1 adult entree, get 2 free kid's entrees Thursday - 20% off adult entrees for seniors 65+ Saturday - 50% off breakfast entrees They've renovated the Restaurant space on the 2nd floor (tray return by the coffee, benches along the windows, roped-off area by the top of the escalator), and IKEA Family members still get free hot coffee/tea beverages. I came in on a Friday lunch (no Daily deals) and noticed that the gooey chocolate cake slices and macaroni and cheese were discounted on their own as single items. Cafeteria style food with a great selection and good prices, especially with the daily meal deals. My parents used to come here often when their senior living complex would bus the residents to IKEA, so I have good memories from 2016/2017. I haven't been back in almost four years so not much has changed except the prices and the mess. The servers are always nice to us, the cashiers are friendly & patient but overworked, the tables/dining/drink dispensers areas are a mess (it's SELF BUSSING PEOPLE!) but who's fault is that except those who eat there and the lack of adequate employees to clean? As for the food the meatballs are good as ever, I also tried the veggie and plant balls. I liked them all. Veggie medallions are yummy too. Never can go wrong with the Daim cake for dessert. Had their plantains for the first time...sweet and over priced. My mom enjoyed her lemon garlic cod, she said it had good flavor. Overall a convenient and consistent choice read more
It has been well over several years since my family dined at the restaurant. On this day, we were a bit bummed that there were no mashed potatoes. Ibdo have to say though. Prices has gone up. What was once an affordable meal for an entire family is now more of a discretionary splurge. However, since it was just my wife, me and my youngest daughter. We thought we'd give her an experience. Since her other 3 sisters already have. Now I can't compare my last experience here to what I have eaten this day. But the food nonetheless was good. Just don't be comparing IKEA Restaurant with other restaurants of a higher caliber. Till then, enjoy!! read more

After trying them first the first time, I finally understand all the hype around Ikea's Swedish meatballs. The combination of the savory flavors from the meatballs and gravy, along with the sweet flavor from the lingonberries are a perfect balance. Next time I would ask for more gravy though. The Stockholm salad is also good. I wish there was more honey dijon dressing, but other than that, it is delicious. The best part about this all was that everything was 50% off since it was a Friday! read more

The food was still good and you can't beat the price but there wasn't very many options, which was unusual. Even the small food market doesn't offer as many as options as it did in the past. read more
Came here on a busy Tuesday around 6pm and I was surprised that everything I ordered was hot and fresh. This summer has a wonderful deal! At only $3.99 all hot plates every Tuesdays now until August 31, 2024. We ordered the Garlic Lemon Cod and Swedish Meatballs and both were excellent. Portions were great and the fish was still crunchy like it came straight out of the oven. Nothing was overcooked and I would definitely order this again. Bring the whole to Ikea and let them take care of the cooking during this heatwave, see you there! If you come on other weekdays, there are different specials like $1 swedish meatballs on Thursdays, etc. (see one of the photos I posted for details). read more
I've always wondered why people raved about IKEA food, but now I understand. The Swedish Meatballs and Lingonberry juice were enough to keep me coming back. If I worked closer to an IKEA, I'd definitely have lunch here a few times a week. Plus, the price is kind on the wallet. I posted a photo of the food on my social media and a friend commented it looked boring. The plating might not be the most aesthetically pleasing, but who cares when everything tasted great? Before or after shopping for your home, the restaurant is definitely a nice little stop *insert "It's like a reward" audio*. read more

Consistency is very important for my snack places. Ikea never seems to disappoint. The trick is to get in line right when the fries and the chicken fingers come out of the fryer. I'll even go as far as to wait until I see them come out of the fryer before I come up to order. Lately I've been having them put gravy on the fries, now all I have to do is bring my own cheese curds and viola I have my own poutine. I know I've wrote disparaging comments about the value of chicken white meat but both Ikea and the other very popular chicken place seem to do a great job of cooking it, my pleasure. Lately I was in Costco and the sample servers have been using the same phrase, must be a thing. read more

My friend said, "You can't go to Ikea and not get meatballs," so, we ended up in line for meatballs. The line was moving really slow, but I'm not sure if that might have been because a new person was being trained. I heard him ask, "Am I going too slow?" and someone responded, "No, you're doing great." The display cabinets were mostly out of food, which seemed kind of weird, as it was 3pm on a weekend, when the restaurant wouldn't be closing until 7pm. The ladies in front of us requested some items that were out, and someone brought a few plates out for them from the back. We shared meatballs, mashed potatoes, and a salad. Altogether, it came to about $7, which wasn't bad considering the amount of food. Right as we were about to order, someone brought out a bunch of new meatballs, and dumped them on top of the old ones. I know that's not how it's supposed to be done, but, we had no complaints, since we were served the fresh meatballs. The only thing missing was almond torte or marzipan/princess cake-- my favorite. But, like I said, they were out of virtually all of the desserts. "This is actually a really nice view of the freeway, and like, the sunset over the freeway." Overall, I think you *can* go to Ikea and not get meatballs, but they're alright, once in a while. For those who really love the meatballs, they also sell them frozen downstairs. read more

No matter what, I will always love ikea meatballs. Even if they're out of a side. And even if their soda fountain is out of order (why is it always out of order?!). Weekends are obviously going to be very crowded, but well worth the wait in my opinion. The ladies at the counter are always super sweet and somehow we always manage to find a table, even when it's crowded. Their veggie balls, plant balls, and regular meatballs are all home runs for sure, and once everything is smothered in gravy, I have no complaints. read more

The IKEA in West Sacramento has a cafeteria. Right on! You can fortify yourself with those iconic Swedish meatballs before you tackle the humongous inner maze of IKEA. Something about those simple looking IKEA Swedish meatballs n cream sauce that is comforting and satisfying. Yum! These iconic meatballs are soft, pillowy light texture without tasting heavy or dense, and simply seasoned. Every time I am at IKEA, I need to get my fix. If I am not in the mood for a full order, a side order of 4 will do. The meatballs also come in a veggie version. They have other menu items. They have entrees, sides, salads, sandwich wraps, and desserts. All the non-hot items are wrapped in plastic and placed in the self serve cabinets. The food is decent and priced at points not to break the bank when feeding the fam. 8 Swedish meatball plate is $8.99. It comes with a scoop of lingonberry,mashed potatoes, and side of vegetables. Two slices of garlic toast is $1.29. However the bread is toasted to a toothsome crouton level of toastiness. The desserts are priced ~$2. My go to desserts are the Apple strudel and the Diam almond torte. Delicious sugar overload. My fave dessert is the mini princess cake which I have not seen since pre-pandemic. If you are an IKEA rewards member. You get additional discounts. Current deals: an additional 15% off in the restaurant for July and August 2022. Every Wednesday is buy 2 adult entrees and get 2 kids entree for free. Check the website for deals and on how to sign up for the rewards program. However the cashier does not ask if you are an rewards member to apply these additional savings. Possibly having signage around the cafeteria about the program would help. read more

4 stars for the food but daaaang does the line here move slow. Fact #1 - It does not matter what time you come on the weekend, it WILL be busy. Fact #2 - You can't go to Ikea and not get meatballs. Fact #3 - You're missing out on deals if you're not an Ikea Family member. I don't make the rules. We stopped by the restaurant mid way through our shopping and the line was hella long!! it was like 2:30 PM - mid way between lunch and dinner yet everybody and their mommas wanted to eat. I don't blame them, cause same lol They only have one line. This is extremely inefficient. Other locations have multiple registers but this one only had one, which really held up the line. I find it interesting that you pass the dessert case first, and then get your main food last. My BF thinks its a sales tactic to get more food moved, but I think you get hot food last so it stays hot longer since the line takes forever. After the dessert is the other cold food, like wraps and salads. They look decent but I'll never know as I refuse to come to Ikea for salad lol So let's get to the good stuff - THE FOODS! I've never ordered anything other than the meatball plate. It comes with 8 meatballs, a scoop of peas, a scoop of mashed potatoes, and a dollop of lingonberry jelly. The jelly and meatball duo is iconic so don't be weird and not eat it. If you don't like peas, you can opt to sub for double mash or even fries. The peas are pretty basic, but I still go for it if I want a little green in my life. I think you can add 4 more meatballs for $1 as well. My sister decided to try the chicken tenders plate. It comes with fries and broccoli however they automatically gave us peas. She HATES peas so it would have been nice to have been informed first that they were out of broccoli, but whatevs. They give 3-4 huge tenders and a good amount of fries, however the fries are pretty meh. They're a little thick cut, like Burger King, and just not salted enough. I don't think they were as fresh as they could have been either. We also tried the vegetable medallion which is essentially a veggie patty. Do not skip on this! It doesn't look like much, but it has a creamy, onion taste. I think it's broccoli, potato, onions but don't quote me. Either way, give this a try. It's super delicate and pairs well with the meatballs! Ikea Family gets 15% off meals until mid Feb!! What a bargain! Also - you get a free hot drink (coffee/tea) each time you visit. You just grab a mug or glass cup at the register. If you get a glass cup, they'll ask you if its for water. If so, its free otherwise there's a charge for fountain drinks. The condiment selection was pretty basic but not well maintained. The ketchup was served in squeeze bottles but all were basically empty. The dispenser had BBQ sauce, but it's a diff version/taste than you're probably used to. They also had grape jelly looking packets which turned out to be ranch dressing lol I liked the BBQ sauce and ranch mixed together otherwise each condiment on its own was pretty meh. All in all, Ikea restaurants are worth a visit, especially since most people aren't shopping at Ikea every week. It's a nice treat and economically priced if you have a whole family to feed. The dining area is well lit and it's a pretty nice view of the outside skyline. read more

It was my first time coming to IKEA to do some furniture shopping and man this place is like a maze lol. I've always heard about how IKEA has a very good food court and the selection has a wide variety of foods so I figured why not try it out. Not going to lie, I didn't expect much of this place since it was located in a furniture store but man was I wrong. I ended up getting what everyone raves on about, their Swedish meatballs and it did not disappoint at all. I didn't have very high expectations nor did I have low expectations but if I was in the area I would honestly come in just to eat here. The flavors were on point from the meatballs to the sauce. Very rich and savory. The fries were also very good. They have all the condiments you need as well. Food court is very clean and when you're finish you just put your tray into a cubicle like shelf and go on to shopping. Don't sleep on IKEAS food court, like i said if I was just in the area I would go in just to eat. All in all a solid 4/5. Clean food court, cafeteria like process, and overall just a good experience. I would give it a 5/5 but some tables were left with trays because people are too lazy to put their trays away and the workers really don't clean that up because it's not their job so I don't blame them. STOP BEING LAZY PEOPLE. It takes no more than 30 seconds to put your tray into the designated area. read more
