We purchased a King bed with storage and found that some of the underbed storage had accidentally shipped with parts from a smaller (queen) bed. I called and talked to Karl, he had the warehouse guy call me and he said "give me a few weeks to get those in and I'll contact you". No response. I emailed Karl yet another time letting him know that we still hadn't been contacted. It's now been 4 months and we still don't have the correct parts for our bed. At this point, I'm just going to make something on my own to fix the bed... but can't in good conscious recommend Scandinavian Designs for the lack of follow through. read more

We have bought many pieces here at the Rocklin store over the years, and while the furniture has held up great with timeless style, we are currently getting the run around with our last purchase. We bought an electric recliner about 6 mos ago and out of nowhere the headrest will not raise up. We called the store, got manager Jeff Weems and he said he would send a repair person in a couple of days. No one called regarding a repair date so we call back were told "they have to order the part", a couple weeks go by with no phone calls from the store, again, so we call and ask for the manager and we were told he was not there. Apparently he works T-Th and the rest of the employees are just there to sell; not provide service. It's been about a month now, I'm thinking they are thinking if they drag this out a couple more months the chair will no longer be under warranty. I used to love this store and I still love the furniture, but lack of service, lack of consideration for their customer's time, and quite frankly their lack of manners is shocking to us. I am driving up to the Rocklin store tomorrow in an effort to speak with Mr. Weems in person, because he is definitely not a thoughtful phone person. read more

He figured he could fix that and put it on the wall side. He doesn't have the best vision and the was NOTHING marked on the tag. Well- when he got it home under normal light things what we saw. DO NOT PURCHASE A STRESSLESS CHAIR FROM SCANDINAVIAN DESIGNS AND AVOID THE STORE IN ROCKLIN/ROSEVILLE, CA. I paid over $3K for a Stressless Chair off of the showroom floor. Two years later the base broke. The chair is only used minimally . . . two adults in the house who weigh 160 pounds and no children. The store in Roseville said the chair was no longer under warrantee since I bought it off the floor (two years ago). I was told I would have to call a repair technician myself to get an estimate on repairs. The tech came and said, I would have to order a new base myself from the manufacturer and then call to have someone install it. The manufacturer no longer makes a base that will fit this chair. I feel scammed by the Roseville store. Buyers beware! We've been purchasing furniture from Dania and Scandinavian Design for three decades (for both homes and business). The manager in Rocklin/Roseville, CA is rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful. Vacaville is a much better store with superior customer service. We will never go back to Roseville. read more

We had purchased a mirror for a bedroom set we already owned, not knowing it wouldn't come with any hardware to mount the mirror on to the dresser. Carl went above and beyond to try and find this hardware for us. He contacted the manufacturer who was sending them the parts. We waited on the manufacturer for 7 months, and then decided we just didn't want to wait anymore. Even though SO much time had passed, Carl helped us return the piece without any questions. Sensational. I can always count on Scandinavian Designs to come through. I bought my Stressless® Mary Power Reclining Sofa in September and it has been a fixture in my home ever since! I am often responsible for babysitting my wonderful grand niece and nephew and they quite enjoy lounging in it. On one such occasion, we visited Scandinavian Designs together; I had promised to buy them each a pillow if they behaved. The associate was attentive and friendly, and was more than happy to help little Danny and little Heddie pick out the perfect pillow. Danny picked the Fern Indoor/Outdoor while Heddie opted for the Monstera Indoor/Outdoor. The associate was also knowledgeable. It would behoove Rocklin's SD to learn a very simple principle: retailers should not make presumptions about customers' ability to purchase their products based on the way they look; a customer is a customer. My family visited this location recently, and not only was there complete radio silence from the sales staff, the couple who entered the store immediately after us were greeted on the spot. And the couple after them. Repeat. So, was I being presumptuous to assume that our athleisure wasn't signaling to the employees that our money was just as good here as anyone else's? Perhaps, because we traversed the length of the store, weaving through every department, with nary a "hello" or "how can I help you?" Fortunately, a few hours after this troll of a shopping experience, my husband and I checked every piece of furniture and artwork off our checklist at a local competitor, including a gorgeous area rug remarkably similar in color/pattern to one spotted on SD's floor. We entered the store thinking it would be out of range for our budget. Surprisingly, we found exactly what we wanted for quite a bit less than other stores. The goal was to get reclining sofas; however we had specific requirements. Not leather. Not puffy. Wanted a clean look, one that didn't scream "I'm a recliner!" We had been looking for about two years, and nothing fit all these specifications. However in Scandinavian designs, there were actually several options. We found the Regine power recliner and the decision was obvious. My only hesitation was the light grey microfiber fabric. It was beautiful, but I have kids. We've had them a year now and they clean up fairly easy. However I still wish they had the microfiber in darker options. So satisfied with our purchase. The couch is so big comfortable, and easily fits 3 adults. We ended up purchasing two couches for the living room. Salesman was attentive and knowledgeable, but we never felt pressured. This store is twice the size of the Fair Oaks store. If you're looking for beautiful modern furniture, this is the place to go! Lots and lots of clean, classy, comfortable furniture. I ordered a couch, table, and bar stools. I mean i think they look beautiful, just check the pictures. So basically, you know what you're gonna get here. You're gonna pay above average furniture prices for top quality beautiful styles. I said in my other review that if you broke, don't come here. Same concept applies to this store. Customer service here is amazing. Shoutout to Kristen who was very patient with me and helped me find great deals while I was trying to find some good furniture. I finally found a furniture store that has more of my tastes in mind! The showroom is large and airy. Lovely furniture displays of Scandinavian and Danish designs, which I consider contemporary. They call it "mid-century modern." Whatever it's called, it was definitely my style! This was the highlight of my day browsing the store. We explored at our own pace and I couldn't help but dream on how some of the items would look in my own home. And dream I must continue, until I get into a better financial situation. But don't get me wrong, the prices here were surprisingly reasonable and approachable. Plus a sale was going on too! I did find it a little odd that we were never acknowledged by any sales people during our visit. But that was OK, since we were just looking and were dressed like a couple of peasants anyway. There is a state mandate to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. I get that the staff may choose to not confront a customer who refuses to wear a mask, but there is a sign outside the store that says that masks are required unless you are fully vaccinated. NOT TRUE. And the woman working there was not wearing a mask. I suggest you go to the Fair Oaks store, even though it is not as large, but the staff there follow the state mandate, and protect the safety of their employees and customers. Love the furniture, but not worth the risk at this location. And how they can get away with posting a sign that blatantly defies the state mandate is maddening. read more

I love this store b/c its different than every other furniture store in the area. They only carry modern, clean looking furniture. Think West Elm with a more inventory and delivery that is less expensive and way faster. This location is much bigger than the Fair Oaks store where we shopped before. We purchased a mid century lounge chair, a desk chair, and a beautiful good quality mid century bed frame. Delivery is per truck load no per item - flat rate without those extra "handling" charges that West Elm and Crate and Barrel require you to pay. And instead of 6-8 weeks you get your stuff in 1-2 weeks. I highly recommend checking this place out if you like mid-century and/or modern furniture. And the staff doesn't hound you like other stores. They let you browse peacefully but are there to answer questions if you need help. read more

I wish there is an option for no star! We furnished most of our 5000 sf house with Scandinavian designs furniture years ago. We loved the services. Now we are trying to do the same for our new home. This time the experience was horrifying. The wait time is over six weeks for some the piece we want. Even though we paid extra for delivery and assembly, We did not get the full services that we had paid for. The file cabinet was left with pieces inside for us to complete but the pieces didn't fit together! When contacted Carl the sale representative about the issue. He was rude and trying to brush off by claiming that he didn't know who delivered the furniture. Carl claimed he didn't have the delivery on record. Carl said it is up to me to find the people and ask them to come back finish the assembly. I mentioned that I had a contract with the Scandinavian design not the third party. I believed the store should be responsible for their sub-contractors. Carl insisted that there were nothing he can do about it. I was left with no choice but to abort the whole house purchase plan. Thank God I only wasted one room of $11,000 on Carl! The quality of the stuff from SD is questionable. SD is definitely NOT what it used to be! very disappointed! read more
