Just don't come to this location - the staff has this whole "too cool for school vibe" and are completely checked out. I've been to multiple Ikeas in NY, NJ, PA and GA .. this is the worst. It was a Monday and despite the store being relatively empty, we wait over 15 minutes to print out our order and more than an hour to pick up the order (there was maybe 4 active orders at best). Check out was a hot mess too. I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic, but seriously - either quit or start working (and don't at me - IKEA is one of the few employers with decent benefits and salaries). I am not a huge fan of IKEA because how things are set up. I get lost all the time and I hate that I am forced to walk through every department before making it to where I need to go or the checkout line. I've been about 3 times and they had the same stuff except for the outside summer items. The prices in IKEA are way too high for you having to grab the item yourself, and assemble it with barely any tools given. The prices just aren't reasonable at all. Their clearance is just damaged junk which I don't understand because it still priced like nothing is wrong with it. I wish thy would put more of their summer items and clearance. Useless customer service. They delivered half of my order overall and even delivered half of my bed frame. I'm just sitting here with 3 of the 6 packages for my bed. Customer service is completely unhelpful with getting the issue solved. Unreachable for 3 months. When I finally get a response, they end up re-ordering the wrong thing. Even with the pandemic and the stay at home order, placed an order on line yesterday afternoon for 2 loveseats, got the confirmation of the order along with a "desired" delivery date for today. Thinking this was a glitch as they would contact us 24 hours in advance of the delivery, we went on with our day. Lo and behold, at noon today, a delivery truck pulls up in front of our house to deliver those same two sofas! The crew was exceptional- personable and polite! Best experience ever! Sometimes i wonder if Yelp inadvertently reregisters businesses because Ive checked in here at least 5x before. Regardless, this is IKEA and i am not sure a rating applies because IT IS WHAT IT IS. IKEA. Food used to be a 4 now a 2 or 3 Tables Only cleaned whenever. You usually have tp clean yours before eating. Long checkout lines make it a 3 Typical is today when cashier has to call someone and 20 people patiently waited or went to other lines after 10imins on the phone But for fun and the fact I've finally found the short cuts to circumvent the maze here i give it a 4. Breakfast for .99 cents. I love Sweden. You can get a side table for $15, a couch for $200 and a bed for $109. The catch? You'll be forced into a warehouse setting at the end of your model-home journey to navigate your way with codes and numbers to the boxes that hold what you want. Then you will pull out your back and come close to a divorce as you try and host the flat-packed goods into your cart. Then your kids will tug on you for a hot dog and cinnabon as the smell is forced through the vents during your whole journey. When you get home you'll end up in a room, with 20+ pieces of wood around you like a moat; piles of different nuts, bolts and screws; and a 'instruction' guide that is so universal the fate of your finished product lies in the hands of a stick figure trying to show you what to do in a pictorial diagram reminiscent of kindergarten. HINT: If the stick figure has a lighting bolt over his head, this means he is frustrated and you should probably just sack the whole project and go to BoConcepts. While I despise putting together the furniture from Ikea, I do really like their designs, so time and time again I buy their stuff even though assembling it drives me to madness. That being said, whenever I need a tchotchke for my house this it the first place I'll look. Cheap lamps, picture frames, mirrors, you name it. Their downstairs marketplace is where it's at! Though I admit I do spend too much money on junk, at least it's fun to do. I vastly prefer this one to the Conshohocken one. It's surprisingly usually less crowded. Also it honestly is more nicely laid out, and you can even see a rapidly rusting ship on the river from the cafeteria window. Food is alright, not gourmet but at least an experience. Their food market though has a lot of prepackaged interesting stuff. Those damn Swedes certainly know how to make pastries. Time and time again I find myself here, and usually it's a pleasant experience. Just avoid the weekend crowds and you'll be golden. Sometimes I hate admitting I love Ikea. read more

*This review is based off of 1 bad experience* So basically I came to this Ikea earlier in the day to walk around and get ideas. I found a super cute table and chairs for my balcony reasonably priced. I didn't have my car with me so I came back later that day to get them and when I went to the aisle there were none in stock in the boxes below. BUT they had 5 on display (see picture) and 1 on display in the showroom (see picture). Soooo I went to ask someone at the information desk if we can grab it off the display and she told me no because it isn't in stock. Which I don't understand. Because 1. It is in stock. Y'all are just placing them around on display and 2. Me, a customer, is willing to buy it and you're turning down the sale???? Ok. Makes ZERO sense. I literally said I wasn't leaving without it and she said she COULD NOT sell me it. I went back over to the tables and another employee walked by so I asked him why was I being told I couldn't purchase the tables and he was able to make it happen for me. And I got $10 off. So yes I am happy I was able to get the table and chairs & get a discount and they look great on my balcony (see attached photo) but I'm very disappointed that one of their employees was refusing to sell something to me. read more

IKEA has always held a special place in my heart, but the handful of trips I've made here over the last few weeks has made me fall in love with it all over again. Just to clarify, these visits were mostly either to grab stuff I didn't initially buy on my prior visit, or to return things that didn't fit once I got home. (All my fault, not IKEA's) At this point, you should know what IKEA is all about, so I won't go into that, but instead leave you with a few helpful tips & comments... If you come on a weekend, you WILL wait in long lines both at the checkout & returns/exchanges counter. It's a fact. If you can swing it, come on a weekday/night and it'll often feel like you have the store all to yourself. However, the trade off for coming on a weeknight is the food is not as plentiful or fresh. Avoid the garlic toast on a weeknight, since it's likely been sitting there all day and now is as hard as a rock. They lose a star for removing the Lingonberry juice from all soda fountains in the store. This juice would often times be my sole reason for visiting in past trips. Very, very, very sad they removed it! If you are returning something, grab a number ticket from the red deli-style ticket dispenser to the left of the returns counter. And don't be that a-hole who throws a fit because you were waiting around for 20 min before you even noticed it. (There is airways at least one!) IKEA has one of the best return policies, as they accept returns for one full year from purchase, just make sure to save that receipt! Also, IKEA Family... this store membership card is totally free and grants access to sale prices on certain items. It also gives you some free stuff (free coffee in cafe, and extra time at the in-store daycare), so make sure to sign up for it at one of the orange kiosks near checkout! read more

I love Ikea. For the furniture, and the food. I've furnished my whole house with Ikea stuff. The trick is to NOT buy the cheap stuff because you get what you pay for. The cheap stuff will eventually come unhinged or become uneven. Drawers will become slanted, kitchen chairs will start to fall apart. But the more expensive stuff really does hold up. I guess because they make it out of *real* wood. I also got a sectional from Ikea because I like the idea of being able to change the slip cover if I want to change my decor. It's also nice because my cat's a spiteful vomiter, so I'll need to take the slip cover to get cleaned at some point. Anyway, as for the Ikea food...you can't go wrong. I've had the .50 cent hot dogs. They're A-OK. I've had the meatballs, chicken fingers, french fries, and macaroni and cheese. It's all GOOD! And cheap. Seriously, sometimes I go here just to eat. There's no shame in it!! If you're going to come here, be prepared to spend more than you planned. There are so many cool things you can't leave without picking up something you don't really need. I like taking Lady Mary there for a stroll, so we can reminisce about love's keen sting. Fortunately for Lady Mary, I have excellent taste; but if I could only afford Ikea, she would love me anyway. I am not a heroin addict. But thanks to IKEA, I have this mean looking scar down my left arm that looks like a once infected needle track mark. I was moving an IKEA dresser and it fell apart, and took a good chunk of the inside of my elbow with it on the way to the floor. After stopping the bleeding using some non-FDA approved Chinatown medicine, the dresser was nailed back together. The store itself is really fun to walk through but you either come away with a good deal, or you come away with a bunch of Swedish crap that you just don't need (e.g. a garlic clove peeler, really?). The food is really cheap. Fifty cents for a hot dog? That puts even McDonald's to shame, which just makes me wonder what exactly is in IKEA's food to where they can sell it so ridiculously cheap? The actual items: you get what you pay for (i.e. it's cheap so you can't be upset when the pressed particle board crumbles because you looked at it too hard) and it looks chic (when it's not trying to kill you). The appliances and furniture are super flimsy but damn if they don't look sexy. It ultimately gives the illusion of style without breaking your wallet; assuming you have some sense of control when you're in the store and don't just start buying every useless trinket you come across. We've been to this Ikea store a lot. Sometimes it's for something serious like a sofa, sometimes it's for something for the kids rooms. My most recent trip was to replace the sofa cover I spilled a whole glass of red on, after I was in the doghouse for golfing earlier that same day so a speedy replacement was necessary! I walked in the exit like usual and went right to the computer kiosk so I could get my slipcover. Turns out an employee has to set that up. So Matthew took care of me in a flash. I had my sheet for pickup and off I went. While I went to pay my wife went looking for lamp shades. After checkout is when the disappointment kicked in. 57 minutes later I get called for my item to be picked up. As I'm approaching the counter the attendant points to my box behind the wall. I go over to pick it up and hand her my sheet and I get scolded "get behind the yellow line" when I turned around there were two ladies that heard her and their eyes were huge in amazement. Since it's been 57 minutes I just wanted to leave. My experience with this side of the ikea experience was further eroded when I went to return the lamp shades today. I walked in at 10:55. I was number 69, they were on 56. I made an online purchase at 11:33 and they were on 66. At 11:45 I got called. Why does it take this long for a return, I waited 50 minutes in the middle of a Tuesday for a return. Get outta here ikea. IKEAs offer decent stuff at a reasonable price, all of my experiences have been positive when on the sales floor but the return procedure and the pickup area is a disaster and the pickup area need major tending to as they are a horrible last experience at this Ikea. read more

IKEA. Home of the Big Blue Box. Let me just put out the disclaimer: I may be partially biased because I was once a former "IKEAN" as I liked to call myself back in the day. Yep, I saw it from an employee point of view before this time, I saw it as a customer. I was super excited to be making a trek to this IKEA while we were in town and even more so since it had been over seven years since I had been back to one. Let me say that IKEA isn't for everyone. But for those who do like it, like myself, it offers everything under the sun. From ice cream cones to cribs to kitchens, it's all there. While it does make the customer work (walking, carrying, pushing, schlepping) it also rewards customers with low price items. Quality is not the finest, but the prices reflect that. It's great for college students, setting up an initial house, or for those who want to down size and need minimalistic furniture. People are often "freaked" out or "overwhelmed" if it is their first time experience. Breathe. It gets better after one understands how IKEA works. It's not like walking into just any home goods or furniture store. We did the entire upper floor "pathway" stopping to evaluate TV stands. While we didn't find anything to purchase, the prices were definitely on point. IKEA has a great way of attractively setting up to show the customer what and how it could look and then allows the customer to create their choice. While we only purchased a few household items, the store was still neat and organized at 4 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon which was amazing since weekends are usually the worst times to visit. Check out wasn't too bad either with only 2 carts ahead of us, it flowed smoothly. Our cashier wasn't the friendliest or happiest lady, but oh well, some days are better than others. There's ample parking. A small food cafeteria and a little market to take care of any hunger pangs. For larger purchases, customers can back up their vehicle and load everything in without going all over the parking lot in the rain. Overall, we left intact and happy with our purchases. If it were closer, I might be in trouble because I'm sure I could always find something to buy! read more

But be prepared to spend A LOT of time there. We went to get food first. I have to say, although most of the food was good, they stopped putting out desserts closer to the time of closing. Even when we asked about the cakes, they basically said that was all that was left. I highly doubt that. They were cut up on plates, and I'm sure they had others ready to go for the next day.... IKEA's layout is simple enough to walk through, but you can cut into other departments if you want to skip over certain things or go backwards to something you already saw. It is good in that way, but it can also make you feel like you're in a maze. Prices were the same as San Francisco/Oakland's Ikea which was a little shocking to be considering the cost of living difference between the cities... I actually worked at Ikea for a month before I quit because management seemed to refuse to hire more employees (and I was making 3x as much driving Uber/Lyft). I worked in the As-Is department that was smaller than the As-Is department here but I feel like we had way more stuff than what was here. Ohhh IKEA..... I believe IKEA provides the best affordable furniture option for college/graduate students. The good: Basically an eye candy store because most things look beautiful in the rooms IKEA designed. I appreciated the very clear labeling of sections and how they made a scene for the kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc. It made it easier for me to see how I would incorporate the furniture or items into my own apartment. Also, the quality of items does vary but most of the times if you pay big bucks for something it will have great quality. The joy of shopping comes from finding the inexpensive items that still have awesome quality. For example, I recommend the bath mats/rugs (BADAREN); they hold up very well and feel great on your feet out of the shower! The bad: They force you to walk through the entire store almost (there are ways to take a shortcut) before you can pay for your items. You almost always have to assembly your furniture yourself. Obviously, you could pay for someone to do it, but if you aren't great at assembly you can end up with a product that doesn't seem to be as good as the furniture on the floor. I arrived a bit early, before the store was open at 10am so decided to sit in their dining area. I saw a lot of people getting breakfast so i tried the Swedish American breakfast. Sausage, eggs, pancakes etc.. not bad at all. I like the Philly Ikea, it's never crazy busy, you won't run out screaming after getting the back of your your heels hit by one too many kids pushing their own strollers either. I had a return and it was quick and easy. No wait, no questions, very straight forward. The employees are super helpful, one even walked me downstairs to find something in clearance instead of paying full price for the same item! Very impressed! In my opinion, I felt ashamed at myself for believing in IKEA, their business model and their customer support, but after following the strict (and as it turned out, incorrect) instructions on the do-it-yourself furnitures and unable to be refunded or get credit back, we felt incredibly wronged and will never come back to this place or any other IKEA until they have the opportunity to reflect on their practice patterns. As a backdrop, my wife and I just moved to Philly and we decided to give Ikea a shot before buying more pricier, adult-oriented furniture in our little apartment in center city. At first, we signed up to IKEA, got a bunch of coupons, and were excited to furnish our new apartment with these amazing deals. However, we were wrong. This Ikea was much more disorganized than the ones I've visited in the northeast, with missing inventory, disinterested (and often missing) staff and also poor communication between the store and the website. When we initially visited the store, the staff told us that one of the items was in back-order and told us to call over the weekend to confirm its restocking process and appropriate pickup date. We followed their instructions to the letter, but even after calling in the store and confirming its availability, we showed up on the appropriate date and found out our item was not in stock. Our next grief arose when I built one of the bookshelves per their instructions, but based on the manual error, which I took images of, part of the visible shelf was facing the wrong direction. I took pictures of the shelf and the instruction manual and requested credit-back since it was almost impossible to bring the actual 8 foot bookshelf back to the store, but they rudely denied our claim and I felt incredibly humiliated as a customer. At the end of the day, I will never come back to shop here. But on a good note, their salmon dishes were actually quite delicious and affordable, so if all else fails, I do recommend coming here and sampling their cooked salmon plate for less than $6, which is the only saving grace to this place. read more

This location is ALWAYS packed. Parking is a bit of a nightmare but after you are able to find a spot, beware, your journey has only begun. People in cars rack up points by hitting pedestrians, pedestrians get points by flicking people off, kicking vehicles, and elbowing other pedestrians. Once inside the chaos continues. The store is FULL, simply put. I sometimes fear the floor will fall out from under me from the weight of all the rude people with fantastic girth. Food here is awesome, cheap and fills me up! Ikea even has a scratch and dent section, which could yield the perfect piece of furniture for a serious DIY project. The majority of Ikea's furniture is displayed on the upper level, then broken down into various boxes on the first level in a warehouse like setting. Keep in mind, you're going to have to assemble the furniture yourself. The Ikea cafeteria is a hit or miss. Either the food is delicious & leaves you lusting for more, or is just below mediocre & leaving you wishing you just kept walking. A day off from work and I went to Ikea to look for items for my walking broom closet that my husband is going to build for me. I was so excited to look for items at Ikea but it's so confusing walking around the whole Warehouse trying to find everything I was walking in circles and was getting confused walking from the cashiers and start from the back and work my way up but this time I walked up the escalators and started upstairs and was so confused I wind up catching the elevator after walking around taking pictures of items lined up downstairs Broad umbrella for my table and the bass when in the clearance room which was a waste of time the stuff is overpriced and not much to look at. I'm really like a big kid when I go to Ikea and only thing I want is they soft serve ice cream cone and my husband likes the cinnamon buns so I got the ones that they making the bed because the chef said the ones that's in the six pack or from a company and I thought about it and said my husband won't eat 6 cinnamon buns and I don't like them so I just got him the one. Walking in the market area I noticed they had chicken meatballs and vegetable meatballs I said I was going to try them but I never tried them so or never heard of them so I wasn't tempted to get them. On June 21st they are having a all-you-can-eat of the food items they sell and I believe it's $12pp and less for children and some odd se has someone up in the food area having samples of the different items that they sell then that gives me a better chance to taste and also to buy. I did find some great ideas for my walk in bedroom closet. And I took pictures to show my husband so I can start gathering up some items for my closet. The one thing that I did like that they had a lot of people on the floor help in on every floor but I was just wandering around just trying to focus on my project. And this is why they just get a 2-star because of the confusion on the different floors while shopping. read more

This review is for Ikea's cafe rather than the store. Is it me, or do the offerings just scream "kids' food"? In fact, with the trays and the mediocre selections, this place reminds me of a high school cafeteria. I'm a vegetarian and the only thing I could see fit to eat was mac and cheese, and my friend got the same, plus chicken fingers, fries and chocolate cake. Exactly what a little kid would like. The two ice cream scoops of mac and cheese were mushy and the cheese was weirdly fluffy, which made me suspicious of the ingredients. The ligonberry juice was pretty good, but it wasn't cold enough. But what do you expect? It's an Ikea cafeteria. When we left I was still hungry. I'm giving it three stars because I love Ikea the store and there's no seperate listing for the cafeteria, but I wouldn't bother eating here again. read more

I go to IKEA for the food sometimes and for geocaching events because some geocaching events have been held at the dining area in this IKEA location. I think the food is okay. Portions are on the small side but prices are not unreasonable. I'm a bit nervous about IKEA furniture because everything looks like it may collapse under my weight. IKEA accessories and knick-knacks are not too attractive to me, although IKEA batteries seem inexpensive. Watch for discounted items when you shop the marketplace. I am 9 months pregnant and ordered some items for the nursery. I got an email confirmation and my card was charged. The email said the items would be delivered August 9,2019 between 9am and 9pm. I called August 8 to get a better idea of delivery and was told the items were not processed (even though I have an email receipt with confirmation). They offered no reimbursement or discounts other than to waive the $39 delivery fee. Their customer service is outrageously awful! They were rude and offered no explanation. IKEA - Furniture Stores Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The South Philadelphia store was in complete disarray in the self service furniture section on the morning and afternoon of 8/24. None of the Friday's supplies were in the correct location according to the website or even in the isle. Similar materials were multiple bins away from wash other. Numbers didn't match the website. Supplies weren't stocked. We accidentally took home the wrong Trofast frame since it was in the correct location. Didn't notice until we drove the 45-60 minutes home. My partner went to return it and get the correct one (which your site says you have 13 in stock for that store) and it was unavailable. The rude customer service representatives refused to help him look in the isles and said there weren't any on the truck delivery. They also wouldn't let him order it in store and waive the shipping fee which is the ONLY acceptable thing they could have done for all the heartache, travel, logistics we put into purchasing the product this morning. The staff was rude and inflexible and the store was a wreck which created an incorrect purchase and an hours worth of wasted time for our family on our limited free time. Additionally to that (and I'll leave this feedback on customer service section too), I called customer service after this in person debacle where the CSR said they would transfer me to sales to get an order in and waive shipping which put me on hold for 30 minutes before she agreed to process the order herself. Once we got the order processed, I hung up the phone to make the payment (she couldn't take it over the phone?) and the link didn't work! A THIRD inconvenient thing of the day. I emailed her and haven't heard a response but I also tried to call back into customer service via phone and they were "experiencing a high volume and couldn't take my call". HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET WHAT I NEED? This is the single WORST IKEA experience we've ever had. We're big fans and usually consider IKEA the ethical ideal store. But with traditionally POOR customer service in store and this inept phone customer service, we're very close to never shopping here again. read more

Poor customer service... cashier charged me twice for an item... I unfortunately realized after I had already paid. She told me to go to customer service. I waited in line for 30 minutes, only for customer service to tell me to go back to the register for a refund. When I went back to the register, a different cashier was there. He was apologetic, and mentioned they could have done the refund at customer service. Get it together Philly IKEA! read more

A typical IKEA store - large, gets very crowded on weekends, and has a ton of items. They have a large cafe on the 2nd level and a smaller one near the checkout area so you can purchase cinnamon buns before you leave. Both areas have seating. I find that they have great, reasonably priced curtains. read more
