Mr. Barstool was exceptional from the moment we placed our order through the final installation. Our delivery arrived exactly when promised, including within the specific delivery window they provided. After the delivery was completed, I noticed a tear in the back of one of the barstools that I had not seen before signing for the order. I took photos and sent them over during the weekend. I received a response first thing Monday morning, and they immediately began working to resolve the issue. The replacement part was delivered and installed within a very reasonable time frame. Their team stayed in constant communication and truly went above and beyond to make everything right. Overall, this was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Exceptional service, reliable delivery, and a company that genuinely stands behind its products. I highly recommend Mr. Barstool. read more

[1158] 2/2021 I visited this store about 15 years ago when I was looking for kitchen stools. The quality is great and this is the first time I needed to replace (fabric ripping on a few). Staff was very friendly and helpful. I picked a similar stool to what I picked up last time. Luckily it was in stock so I was able to have staff load into my car and take home the same day. There are 2 parking space on the side so I had to park in the paid lot a few blocks away. There is a large selection of bar stools so if you need one then this is the place. I'll definitely be back read more

They have a pretty wide collection, although arranged a little differently than I would have expected. They also have a clearance section upstairs, with handy signs saying how many of different items they have. That being said, prices range all over the place, with chairs selling for $99 next to chairs selling for $799. They do have limited free private parking, which is handy, but also nice options for walking and grabbing a bite in the area. We would up having better luck at Howard Hill in Pennsauken, if you're looking for wooden bar stools, and prices were pretty reasonable. I would consider coming back here in the future if I need more bar stools (bar or counter height), it just wouldn't be my first pick. People were friendly and not high pressure, which was nice. read more

I cannot say enough about the customer service and products from Mr. Bar Stool. I love the table , chairs and bar stools that I purchased from them and they took care of all my issues and stood by their products. I will for sure purchase from them again and will recommend them to my friends and family! Deborah S. read more

My husband and I came in looking for the perfect barstools for our newly renovated kitchen. We were very picky about the size, color and style of the stools, but Jean was extremely patient and helpful. She offered many suggestions and alternatives that we could not have known about just perusing their inventory. She was also knowledgeable about materials, colors and availability. She made it a satisfying and productive shopping trip, and we now have our stools on order from her. read more

I didn't actually buy anything here, but that's why i'm giving them 5 stars... I was biking by looking for a hardware store that I thought was close by, and asked one of the employees, June, if he knew where the store was. He asked me what I was looking for and I told him a bolt, a screw and a washer. He said he had that sitting in the shop went back and found me exactly what I needed... Philly'd be a lot different if there were more guys like this around. So you know if I'm ever setting up a bar and need BarStools, this will be the first place I stop. read more

We just picked up yesterday our Calligaris yellow counter stools. They're absolutely gorgeous and very high quality. Barry was very helpful and patient. He showed us dozens of different models until we found the right one. The whole experience was pleasant and hassle free. Definitely recommend this place. Thank you! read more

See, I don't know how to write a review about a place that only sells bar stools. But then, I don't know how you can make a store that only sells bar stools. Mr. Barstool has just about every imaginable bar stool available, from the most traditional to the most quirky. I found it useful when tried to sauce up our kitchen -- those great bar stools under the brand new "lip" on our counter top made the place look hip again. And, of course, if you're actually in the bar restaurant business, this is THE place to go. read more

Emailed Barry on a day they were closed. He responded almost immediately. Was able to get the stools ordered and picked up - he even brought them out to the car! - in under 5 days! Thanks so much Barry for making it so easy! read more

If you want variety you came to the right place. If you want any money left in your pocket when your done your in the wrong place. I can't imagine ever paying so much for bar stools! We just wanted something basic black or gray at $100 or less and it just didn't exist here. Surprising they do have two parking spaces so that was convenient. read more

This is an awesome niche store. The variety of bar stools is insane. My family once purchased 100 stools for a business and I just ordered 3 for my new place. They customize stools to that of your liking. I liked a few bar stools and they trimmed the legs perfectly to make them counter stools. The best prices and service! read more

This is the absolute worst service I have ever encountered. I placed an order online, never received any information regarding shipping dates or when my product shipped. I contacted the store last week and asked to cancel my order, since it was not shipped I was able to do so, and got confirmation from the lady I spoke with that the full amount would go back to me. I never got a call or email back regarding anything else. Today the product shows up to my door. When I call them, "there's nothing we can do, it already shipped". She then proceeded to tell me that when she went to cancel my order it already shipped. I never received a call or an email stating that my order already shipped and I wasn't able to cancel. Never buying from the store again this is the worst service I've ever experienced the only thing I was told is that I can ship it back to their store but obviously I have to pay the shipping now. read more

I have been buying all my chairs for my house and my business at mr Bar stool in old city. Bad chairs are like bad shoes; the impact on your back is huge, and any bad chair will give you back and leg issues. No more since I shop at bar stool, and on the top of it they have amazing designs, colors and as any small business own in Philly it could feel a little intimidating at first. The staff knows their business, they are always busy, and they are sharp and don't want to waste your time. read more

Thank you for the terrific, awesome bar and high chairs we bought from you last mth. The coffee colored leather chairs and the matching bar that hooks onto our wall in our den is just so perfect. Everyone loves it and it was exactly what we needed for the corner behind our sofa. After wks of searching and nearly giving up, we thought of your store. Then we walked into your store and saw the perfect set with the perfect dimensions. I know I drove your salesperson batty but she was so unbelievably patient with me. I just was not sure if it would fit so wanted to check at home but we decided it would that day. Everyone was very nice to us and again patient. The men who helped us load the furniture into our van were equally as helpful and congenial. Thank you also for offering us a discount on the sample set. We will recommend others to shop at your store for your great merchandise and service!!! Linda and Jack read more

I went in willing to spend $1000 and the guy is a JERK!! He just walked away to do something else. I'll never go back. Way to rude for me.

I ordered some counterstools for my house and found dealing with the personnel at Mr Bar stool very unpleasant. The saleslady was very interested in my business prior to me placing an order and very helpful. However when I tried to find out the delivery date for my stools, she was extremely rude. I had to call 6 times to get an estimated delivery date. I would shop somewhere else !!! read more

Why would anyone go anywhere else to buy bar stools? That's all they do. So you should expect the best; that's exactly what you get....the best! They know the best and they sell the best. You will find every style and every price and they will make it look any way you like. Why anyone would say they are overpriced, I do not know. They have every price! I will tell you quite honestly that I am not easily satisfied. Mr. Barstool seemed unmoved by that fact and did what it took to make me happy. My bar stools are beautiful, comfortable and are perfectly suited to my home; Mr. Barstool made that happen. Personally, I'm not a big fan of driving to Philly anymore; it's a hassle. But, the store is literally just a few minutes over the bridge and free parking is provided right next to it. So I have to reiterate, why would anyone go anywhere else??? read more

I only gave them one star because you can't go any lower than that. I ordered stools for my kitchen island. I told the woman (who I think is the owner) that I needed them by Thanksgiving. She called the company and then she told me they would be in by the first week in November. Great! The first week in November came and went. Nothing! I finally called on November 18th. Left a message. Again, nothing-no call back. I again called a week later. Got a human--same woman. Told her I wanted to cancel my order since the bar stools would not arrive until sometime in December, now. I told her to cancel my order and then credit my credit card. Well, a month later and my credit card is still not credited. Will be calling again today. I would never ever shop here again!!! read more

I ordered two bar stools from Mr. Bar Stools and I was told that I would have the stools in 4-6 weeks. At the four week mark I started calling to see if they were delivered to the store. I had purchased two bar stools in the prior two weeks from Mr. Bar Stools but they did not match my kitchen. The vendor was gracious and allow me to exchange the stools. I selected two new stools and was told that my new custom stools would definitely arrive within 4-6 weeks. After the 4th week I called every week and was told that stools did not arrive and they would call once the stools arrived. The stools should have arrived the around February 15th at the latest. I called up until the March 10th and still no stools. At one point I was told one arrived then the next day I was told that no stools arrived. They have $689.00 of my money and I have no stools. Four months have passed and I don't have a refund or my stools. I want a full refund or I want curb side pick up. If he really has them he can ship them to me. He is now blaming the delay on COVID19 although the stools should have been delivered on or before February 15th. No Stools and No Refund equals very bad vendor. Buyers beware!! read more

Thank you, Barry! I appreciate your exemplary customer service. Most would stop at "these have been discontinued " and not offer a replacement suggestion! 2 of the 4 outdoor barstools I purchased 9 years ago needed to be replaced and your suggested substitution will work out great. not sure why this place always makes me giggle a little. could be the huge chair outside. sales people are great, love our purchase

I highly recommend Mr Bar Stool. I went in there in a panic the week before my daughters graduation party needing stools and I was assured that they would more than likely be in but if not they would loan me stools. That was above and beyond what I would have expected but the stools I ordered were in a day early. I know where I will be getting my next bar stools from. Thanks so much!! read more

It's not every day that need to buy a bar stool (or two), but if and when you do, this is thee spot. Prices are great, service decent. Only negative, they have very little back stock. Usually have to order the items in, and that has taken a few weeks for us. read more

Bought three barstools 2 years ago from there for our countertop high breakfast area. $350 each but we thought we were getting quality. Two of the three stools are in my basement now since they started to wobble and braces began to separate. After looking closely, the braces separated because the brads were not even driven through the dowels in spots. Other joints had pre drilled holes with no screws in them! Several spots that should have been glued didn't have any evidence of ever being glued! Since we are an hour from philly, no way are we truckin down there to just be told they are out of warranty. Plus I've already started repairing them. Be careful with wooden stools from this place. read more

We purchased 4 bar stools. We get them home and all 4 are unlevel. Looked at the bottom and each stool has one bad plastic tip. Not something that you can easily fix. It feels like these were used before. I will certainly not be going back or recommending this business to anyone. read more

Great experience. Saw what I wanted in a magazine, described it to Barry, a week and a half later, I got em at a great price. Oh, and btw, he told me I'd probably have to wait 6 weeks, but he rushed them for me. Will absolutely shop there again! read more

no Stars!!!! Don't buy anything here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't recommend this place to anyone!!! They are rude. I bought 4 bar stools on a Sunday, that they told me were 24 inches high. I got home and they did not fit my counter. We measured them and they measured 26 inches. I brought them back the following Sunday since we live and work in Jersey and they are not open on Saturdays. I told them that they didn't fit. They refused to give me my money back. they wanted to give me a store credit. I looked and found nothing else that i liked. They finally agreed to give me back my money minus 25% restocking fee. Yes that's right 25%. They charged me $129.00 for returning the bar stools. the owner who was extremely rude, informed me that i did not return the bar stools in the same condition that i bought them in. He said i took the 1 inch cardboard booties off of the feet of the bar stools!!!! So i guess he must buy very expensive cardboard. I plan to fight this on my credit card. NO ONE informed me that i would be held hostage with these bar stools if i didn't like them. I am a business owner myself and if someone was not happy with my services i would gladly refund them their money. That's plain and simply called good customer service, which Mr. Bar Stool knows nothing about. I can understand charging a restocking fee but 25% is outrageous!!!!! Be careful that you really love the bar stools that you are buying because you are stuck with them or you will have to pay the price to return them. I will never shop here again and will not recommend this place to anyone!! read more

I witnessed one of the poorest examples of Customer Service every. A young couple was interested in purchasing kitchen stools. The woman at the register seem to be not very interested in conversation with them. She placed a call to see if the items were in stock, while ringing up the purchase. A gentleman man came down with one stool vs. 4 and it wasn't even the right one. The young lady was upset. The gentleman stated we have plenty of the style you are interested in and went upstairs only to return and say they were out of stock. The customer question why would you say you have plenty and not have any at all. The Lady at the counter just stood there with this blank look on her here face the whole time. There was issue where the cashier voided the transaction and had to re-ring it. Not once did the cashier apologize for the inaccurate information or the voiding of the sale. Just stood there with a blank look like she didn't care. Sad situation. I turned to my wife and said I would never buy anything here and wouldn't never recommend it. We immediately left the store. read more

We had just finished remodeling our kitchen and needed 2 counter height, swivel bar stools and 2 counter height chairs. We chose 2 black stools which were raised and lowered pneumatically. They were expensive at $200 each but fit our kitchen perfectly. I asked Doris, the salesperson, what happens if the pneumatic cylinder leaked or if there was a problem with the stool. She said that she never had one of these bar stools returned. Well, 2 weeks after we bought them the foot rest on the bottom came loose. I returned it so it could be returned to the factory for repair. I asked for a replacement but there were none of this model type in their stock. I did not hear from Mr Bar Stool so I went back to their store after another 2 weeks and they gave me a replacement stool. After I got it home we looked at the stool and it was the same one that I had returned and the foot rest had not been repaired. I no longer had any faith in them so I repaired it myself. Then the other stool's up-down lever broke off completely and the cylinder began to leak slowly. So when someone sat on the stool it would slowly go down. This time Mr Bar Stool offered no recourse because was over 1 year. We just threw both stools out in the trash and bought 2 nicer chairs over the internet at $99 each. We will never buy or tell anyone to buy from Mr Bar Stool. It was an awful experience. read more
