The store had everything from "vintage" stuff to random junky stuff that just looked... used. The displays made it really difficult to walk around. I donated 8 wooden cigar boxes to Circa, & Michael, the owner let me have a catalogue on the surrealist Yves Tanguy as a trade. Much appreciated! He's cool to chat with. Certainly worth stopping. I do hope the management can learn customer service. I entered because the shop looked charming and I wanted to buy unique gifts for family this Christmas. I have been to shops like this before with "no photos" signs, which I follow. This shop had no signs. No one said hello when I came in, someone went to take a dog for a walk. No problem. I was taking a few photos to decide what gifts to get, texting other family members to decide what to get. There were no humans in the photos, and nothing was art. At one point the man behind the counter said "you should really ask before you take pictures." I apologized and asked if I should delete them. He said no then went on to tell me that at my age I should know how to be polite. I apologized again and told him that some oddity shops like photos used on social media and there was no sign. He then went on to tell me I should know better, which resulted in him telling me that I can't take criticism. It was a bizarre interaction. He told me to leave, which is his right. So I left without buying anything. It was an odd interaction and I hope that they put up a sign if photos are something they do not want taken. I hope that the 5 stars is "polite" enough for them.

They are currently requiring masks for entry, in compliance with the new city mandates. The main entrance leads you into a beautiful little plant shop area. They have incredible planters and a wide variety of plant options. I saw a pineapple growing while inside and was so impressed! The store itself offers fairly priced vintage and used furniture, decor, and clothing items. I was shocked to see how inexpensive some items were! I am in need of a small couch and they had some options, but I couldn't find anything that matched my decor. I will definitely return to see what they have in the coming weeks!

They have a beautiful selection of handcrafted pieces from all around, the staff is kind and attentive. All very stylish! It's important to understand that Bulk Vintage and Briar Vintage are in the same building. Bulk…read moreVintage is on the 2nd floor, Briar is on the 3rd. Are they the same? They are not. The building is an old factory structure tucked in a quiet industrial area. The street out front is where I parked. It was well lit, no problems getting a spot up front. Briar Vintage offers a highly curated selection, thoughtfully grouped by era, clothing style, purpose, etc. For instance, all work uniforms are in one area, all mens suits are in another, etc. Interspersed are vintage advertising signs and art, which adds to the atmosphere. The owner here knows their clothing, and their pricing is fair for what they offer. This is not bargain basement, this is not Bulk Vintage and it's not Goodwill. That's not to say that there are not bargains to be had, there most definitely are. Nothing though is likely to be $1. Maybe a handkerchief. What I loved about Briar was how much they love vintage clothing, how they understand vintage and how they...celebrate it? Honor it? Something like that.
