How abysmal. How can a breakfast restaurant be incapable of cooking eggs over medium? Where "I DON'T WANT RUNNY EGG YOLKS" means nothing? Honestly, this place is hopeless. From syrup and coffee spills on the "clean" table, filthy silverware, unbuttered toast, teensy water glasses, etc etc this former American diner is worse than anyone remembers. What really struck me was how a restaurant that serves pancakes doesn't even smell like FOOD. I remember taking my children out for breakfast at this exact location ten years ago and it's radically different by every possible measure. Meaning Not in a Good way. The hash browns were blackened rectangles of stickiness. The "over medium" eggs were totally liquid yolks, the side of ham was about 4x4", sliced in half and "artistically" stacked, and though warm it was nearly impossible to saw through with the knife with plenty of gristle. It must've spent a minute on the griddle but wasn't browned, but maybe that's a good thing. Where there was fat of any kind there was also notable rancid taste. Shockingly, there's nothing under $8.99 because the waitress couldn't fathom someone wanting to order a la carte. So I HAD to get the (inedible) hash browns and HAD to get the (unbuttered) toast. What did I find to eat from this bounty? Not egg yolks because they were completely liquid and not even a spoon would help. Two bites of bacon, a bit of liquid yolk on dry toast. My family and I had such a baaaaadddd experience here. The older man serving us just isn't with it enough to be a server.... he kind of tried though and was friendly. Just not attentive or aware it seemed. We got our initial drinks and that was it.... no refills. We got the luxury of listening to all the servers fighting and cussing at one another while they stood just inside the kitchen and some were stomping out of the kitchen. I'm really excited my 3 year old and 5 year old learned how to say BS and F$&k. Whole new definition to dinner and a show. All of the staff seemed pretty miserable and in need of some happy pills along with some customer service training. My husband and I stopped at the IHop on Smoke town Rd on our way home from an event restaurant was filthy For a late dinner and it was one the worst experiences I've ever had. First of all they weren't following the covid-19 guidelines. The server was inattentive ,rude and unprofessional. Our food was delivered in a rushed manor, gad to ask for the main ingredient to his entree and all the server could say wAs he always asks the customer if the want gravy or not, however, he did not ask my husband. Then proceeded to dropping each plate on table all while distracted talking to another person behind hin. When brought to managements attention she confronted The server who then started cursing and being ignorant. She allowed him to continue his rant and just went on break. Nobody ever came back to see if we needed anything, we had to wave one of the other servers down to get our check which was switched to the managers name instead of the server and refused to give us his name. While waiting over 10 min for our check the server and what looked like another manager were just standing across from us just staring at us making ignorant comments. As we were paying the check the same manager that was staring at us with the server different came to cash us out and proceeded to insulting and cursing my husband out. when we got there no one sat us for at least 5-10 min. then when we sat down we waited 15 for our drink order to be taken. when we finally got our drinks, the waiter gave us water with lemonade in it... we asked for water with lemons ( because we were getting milkshakes with our meals) the lemons looked like they were previously used and very slimy. when I asked for another lemon he brought it out with his hands and just one. My husband had to ask for a bowl....we then proceeded to wait 30 min for our orders to be delivered and when I got it , my cali turkey sandwich didn't have avocado on it... this was definitely my worst ihop experience yet and as much as I wanted to leave I had just gotten off the road from a 2 hour drive and just wanted to eat and go home and sleep. Awful experience. Every time we go in it's awful wait staff and people who don't speak English. We got to go twice now and the first time they forgot some food but all of our syrups and toppings were free. The second time we had to pay $2+ and they didn't even give us syrup and the toppings for the waffle were awful. Didn't even cover half my waffle. Food was old and soggy. Visited this IHOP today with 2 others around 1:30pm...We were seated at the far end of the restaurant. which was fine with me...As soon as we were seated I noticed it was very chilly inside and could feel cool air coming from the vents above us.....The server came over and asked what would we like to drink and the first words out of my mouth were that it was very chilly inside..... He promptly stated that the heat/ac system was not working!!!!!!! If I had not inquired, he would have taken our orders and acted as though nothing was wrong. Well something was WRONG, and I'm just wondering what type of manager runs a restaurant but doesn't inform customers of this type situation before they are seated and can make a choice of whether to stay or leave..... Horrible customer service here. Our waitress was barely available and seemed annoyed when I asked for CLEAN silverware. I asked for my bacon to not be crispy and it showed up more burnt than a marshmallow over an open flame! And she kept rushing us to pay when we were done. I'm so jealous that everyone else got amazing service and I got crap. Maybe it's just my bad luck, I don't know. Okay, before anyone thinks I'm just this high maintenance, demanding, complicated-ordering snob, let me just clear the air. I'm a college student, I consider Ramen noodles to be a fancy dinner, I order simple, I'm super friendly, and I'm just looking for some decent pancakes. So here's my experience. My two sisters and I were seated relatively right away and given menus. Ten minutes went by before we saw a waitress. Finally she came and asked us what we wanted to drink. By that time, we were ready to order too. But she said she would come back to take our order when she brought our drinks. Um..okay, I guess. Then it was another ten minutes before we got our drinks. Seriously, does it take that long to get a couple of waters and a chocolate milk? The place was pretty empty too, I think our girl was just sooo sloooow. No lie, a group of five that was seated a few minutes after us were already getting their food right after we had ordered ours. And our waitress just left our menus on the table without caring to pick them up.. Then it was another half an hour before we got our food. Oh, but before I get to that, my sister and I had to use the restroom. That was an adventure all on its own. Look, I'm a pretty messy person myself, but even I have some standards. That place was gross beyond words. It smelled like straight up sewage mixed with barf mixed with garbage mixed with skunk juice. Poop stained toilet paper was draped all across the floor and the stalls. You'd think it was some nasty version of Mischief Night. All the toilets were covered in pee and toilet paper. Mold was creeping out of odd corners. I put on like 5 toilet seat covers and prayed for the best. When I was washing my hands, even the sink smelled completely horrible. I told my sister, I think someone straight up pooped in the sink. It smelled that bad. So anyways, yeah the food took forever to come out. When it finally did, I realized I didn't get sausage I ordered. Plus she didn't bring out any silverware for us. No biggie, I guess. When I mentioned the sausage, she was like oh yeah I'll get that. I figured she would just let the kitchen know to make an order of sausage and bring it out when its ready, but instead she decided to take away my plate of eggs and hash browns so she could bring it to the back to get the sausage...? Okay wtf. She brought out the silverware a minute later, and my sisters began eating while I waited for my plate to come back. A few minutes later, it came back with sausage on it, and now my eggs and hash browns were cold. Ughhhhh. We had ordered pancakes, and those were nothing special. I didn't know pancakes come deep fried these days... Everything just took forever and wasn't done right. It even took forever for our check to come, and for her to pick up our credit cards. I won't be coming back here. I used to love IHOP, but not so much anymore. Maybe a different location will reinstate my love for it. read more

IHOP is a IHOP. Except for the building itself, the experience is supposed to be the same everywhere right? Not so at this location. This is the closest one to my house but I avoid it like the plague. This IHOP has the feel of inner city Richmond rather than the Potomac Mills side of Woodbridge. Very seedy. Bathrooms are stanky, tables are sticky, service is mediocre IF they speak English. And it only gets worse late at night. I can only imagine how sanitary the kitchen is. They get one extra star simply because of the fact that they are a franchise and they do have a wide selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But if you really need to go to IHOP in Woodbridge, do yourself a favor and keep driving another 5 minutes down the road at the one off of Hoadley Road (Manassas Address) next to Harris Teeter - much MUCH better. read more

Ok this place has two things working against it...it's an IHOP and it is in Woodbridge...so the people are already going to be a bit interesting...that being said I had a great experience. My mother and myself went here on a Sunday in feb. There was a huge group of people...and let me tell you it was all under control. The host ( a tall charming man) was on top of it!! He was moving and shaking people and you could tell it was a well run place. We sat down and waited maybe 10 minutes and we were seated. Several people were very difficult with him, but he acted professionally and treated them with great service. For his efforts alone it would be a 5....but the fact that it's an ihop makes it a 3. We had crepes and strawberry cheesecake pancakes...which were ok...not amazing. As always the tables are sticky, and the waitress was absent. I don't have enough words to describe how terrible the service is! When I ordered sliders there was no cheese on them so they brought back the food microwaved and hard. Another meal that was ordered was a bacon burger and they brought it to my table with no bacon! They were bussing tables around us in an empty restaurant creating noise and joking around with managers taking selfies and laughing with stuff falling all over the place. When we shared our experience with manager Carolina she first said that the GM wasn't available, then another waitress said he was. When GM Brandon came to our table he had the worst most defensive attitude, having made up his mind that he would provide us with the excuse that there was just a shift change when we were there after breakfast rush at 3 pm! Having had restaurant experience, I explained to him that this was unacceptable. He said he couldn't help us and gave us Rosemarie Kemmerer's card. I left her a voicemail. Hopefully the Director of Operations & Chief Visionary Officer can lend some insight into this pathetic display of upper management and service. UPDATE: Rosemarie reached out and provided an open forum for feedback. She also offered free meals to allow for us to try another location. We've opted NOT to avail ourselves of this because we weren't in the market for a free meal, we were looking for good food and service. Saturday, October 11, 2014, ordered Simple Fit breakfast (substituted with egg whites, added little cheese, green peppers, onions and cooked in Pam. Instead eggs were cooked in cooking oil and appeared burnt. Sent the plate back and the eggs looked the same dripping with oil ugh!!! Notified the manager and he presented me with perfect eggs. We had an IHOP gift card someone had given us and we happened to be near this one. Our server was really great. That's about the only thing I can say positive about it. Two out of three orders of hash browns were burnt on top; the other order wasn't cooked enough. My son's bacon was over the top cooked; all dry and rubbery. There was something floating in his glass of lemonade. My burger looked lost in the bun. It was this tiny thing inside this huge bun and it wasn't very good. The food did come out fast probably because most of it was cooked on high. While I waited I looked around and realized the place looks tired. It needs a sprucing up and the windows cleaned and the tables cleaned. Although the place was nearly empty, we were seated between a family with a crying kid and another family that had the male talking so loud I had to turn around three times before he got the hint and lower his voice. Hostess are so rude and manager even WORST!!! they invented some new rule that you can't seat if one person from 5 hasn't arrive on top they make you wait outside which we understand because COVID but not allow us to seat because the person is about to arrive just because they want to rush you to leave. Manager said the table has time to be open. First time we hear that in this place only pleasant person is the Sever LINDA which was to busy at the time to take care of us after 10 minutes we were seat. I had the Colorado omelette less the shredded beef and pork sausage. I added avocado and sour cream. Both never came with the order. Completed the order at 9:15 and was told to be there be 9:30. I waited and waited and waited more. I was informed that they messed up the order by including the pork sausage and would have to re-cook it. I was given some drink and fruit to sate me, but refused them. I again resumed waiting and waiting and waited more. It was now 9:50 and the order arrived. The parking space for pick-up orders is too small and badly signed. It is suppose to be one-way, but people enter it from the other way. The worst experience from IHOP yesterday. Very mis- managed. I placed an online order to be delivered with door dash. Original delivery time was 9:51am 5/9/2021. The delivery time keep changing. I called the driver who told me that the parking lot was overcrowded and no one could get in. The manager was in the parking lot telling everyone that there was a two hour wait on food. I asked the deliver to ask the manager how to cancel the order and was told had to go through door dash to cancel. IHOP turned phones off so you couldn't even call the store. In the process of canceling I get a notification from IHOP that my food was delivered which it wasn't. Now I have to fight between IHOP and DoorDash to get my money back.
