Went in on Sunday of UCM's Homecoming weekend for lunch. 5 in party. Wait of about 55 min. to get seated. That was expected. After seated, waited (1) one hour for orders of pancakes, omelets and one burger. Finally left without food. I am sure food would have been the normal fare for IHOP but probably won't go back. I'm staying across the street at the Days Inn for a couple weeks and since IHOP is so close, I've been here three times already. I've come here for the last time. At least this location. The first time I ordered the bacon cheeseburger to go and took it back to my room. The fry portion was small and the food tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The girl at the front didn't seem very enthusiastic about helping me and took her time getting the side of mustard that I asked for. I also witnessed the manager stop on her way out to grab a broom and dustpan to clean up some trash outside. Why are employees standing around while the manager cleans up the store in her street clothes? That seemed odd to me. My second visit here was much better. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was great. It came with a much larger portion of fries and everything tasted mush fresher than my last visit. The service was good, although there were only a handful of guests inside at the time and almost any restaurant, no matter how bad, can get it right when you receive their undivided attention. It gave me just enough courage to return again. My third visit was yesterday afternoon and I wasn't happy at all. Upon walking through the front doors I was immediately struck by the odor of what seemed to be vomit. I really can't think of anything else it could have been. The floor by the entrance and front desk area was damp and the wet floor signs were up, indicating they had recently mopped. I'm guessing someone had just lost their "house of pancakes" and we arrived right after the spill was cleaned up. The odor of something foul was still in the air. Very gross. The staff is friendly enough and we were seated immediately, however all around us there were more dirty tables than I could count. They weren't that busy at all. I saw no urgency among the staff. The floors looked like they hadn't been swept all day. This might sound cruel, but all of my observations are honest. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years and know a poorly run operation when I see it. As for the meal itself (I ordered the steak omelet) it was also a big disappointment. There was a part of my omelet that was difficult to chew. I had to spit it out. It's known across the restaurant industry that Sunday afternoons are a time when you'll come across the most poorly staffed restaurants. You get the rookies, the worst employees, the least experienced. No one ever wants to work a Sunday shift, myself included! But there is no excuse for such a poorly run operation, no matter what the root cause might be. There's really nothing further to say other than I have no desire to return. The staff seems to mean well, but there seems to be no direction here. No leadership. No training. No sense of urgency at all. Some of those very same dirty tables I walked past when we were seated were still dirty when we left almost an hour later. Who is running this place? Why are these employees still working here? Worst ihop I've ever been to. Bad service, bad food, limited menu, and even brought uncooked food... What a fail.

We were so excited to have I hop nearby. We had a 20 min wait & were told kitchen was short handed. There were 15 servers standing around. Looked into dining area and maybe 3 tables were occupied. Haven't been in awhile. Tonight after a busy day of working and then grocery shopping we went again. Food was great and the server Taylor was a sweetheart. Helpful, fun, smiling, friendly and efficient. She was the kind of young lady I could tell truly cared about her customers. She suggested my husband try a strawberry crepe because he kept looking at them in the menu. He tried it along with his Philly cheesesteak and loved them both. Food is pretty good as always, we travel all over the US for our job, but we live here, and 95 percent of the IHOP`S we have ate at have good food, but the only problem we have encountered is the service, and this one is just like most, poor service. Just got home from eating at I-hop, Warrensburg. I had planned this visit with my mother since Christmas as a fun present. First, we visited on a weekday in between breakfast and lunch...10:00 a.m., so place was not busy or crowded at all. We had to wait several minutes for a server to seat us as there was no hostess at front desk. We placed our order and waited for breakfast...and waited...yawn, and waited. I commented to my husband and mother that the longer we waited the colder our food was getting. I should read crystal balls because when our food arrived everything except my husband's omelet was cold...not warm...butter was just sitting on pancakes...no chance of melting. I believe two orders were up first and then the omelet was made while two plates sat getting cold. Coffee was warm, not hot at all. Original syrup was on table, not heated, so could not salvage cold pancakes. I usually speak up at restaurant, but just couldn't today...the waitress was just so sweet and sort of squinted when she asked if our plates were okay...almost like she was waiting to hear how awful the food was cooked. This was not her fault and I really felt sorry for her having to serve such poor quality dishes. Our bill for 3 of us was almost 40 bucks. For that price I will purchase and prepare eggs, pancakes, and sausage at home before visiting Warrensburg I-hop again for a taste of really crappy food. Less than 1 star rating. read more

The waitress was friendly, but that's about the only good thing I've experienced at iHop. My sister and I ordered Omelettes and we couldn't finish them. Not only were they greasy, but they had this odd flavor that made me gag. I couldn't swallow one bite. I had heard the food there was disappointing at best, but I didn't know it was inedible(well, the omelettes, anyway. The hash-browns and pancakes are OK.). We have tried eating here twice since it opened. Both times the service was terrible. This last time we went at 3:30 in the afternoon. After a 5 minute wait to get seated. We waited about 20 minutes for a server. There was about 5 other parties in the restaurant at the time so by no means we're they busy. We were told by another server at our server should be over soon. After another 5 minute wait we got up and left. We told the manager as we left that we hadn't be waited on and we're leaving. By far one of the best IHops I've been to. It's very clean and the staff are a friendly bunch. The IHops in Lees Summit and Independence aren't as well kept and the staff aren't as sociable as this IHOP. The food is delicious and always comes out in a timely manner in relation to how busy they are (like any place). I find myself eating here far more than I probably should. Great place! read more

My wife and I went into this location and there were two employees standing at the counter. One of them confirmed a table for two and we followed her to the table. I didn't like the location so asked her to seat us at the other side of the restaurant. She said they really prefer for us to sit at the table she led us to. I told her that I really prefer not to sit next to a hot window. She said she would see what was available. We went back to the front desk and imagine my surprise when there was a table open in the location I asked for because there was literally no one else sitting in that entire row. I have never had anyone at any restaurant argue with me about where I wanted to sit. Then, we sat down and looked at the menu. 15 minutes go by and we have no idea who our server is because they haven't come to the table and no one took our drink order. We decided to leave and I told the manager of the incident on the way out. While waiting for the manager to come out, I noticed one the hosts was playing with a fidget spinner; very unprofessional. The manager did apologize. We went across the street to Country Kitchen where within 10 minutes we had everything we ordered with amazing service. This is not the first or the second time my family has had bad service here, but it will be the last; we will never set foot in that location again. Country Kitchen gives much better service and the staff act like they are happy you're there, not like you're bothering them. read more

I have been to this location twice trying to give it another shot but service was terrible. They greet you well and depending on time that you get there you may be lucky at getting a table even if the restaurant is half empty. They switched server on us several times and could never get the orders right. Omelet tasted great, but the oatmeal is always dry and they always forget the milk and banana. Coffee pot was empty and our waitress wasn't around for us to ask for more. This locations staff has been struggling to get the right order in, getting your meals on time and really need to work on efficiency. read more

I gave the place 3 different tries. It seems all the wait staff is composed of kids who've never worked a day in their life and some were badly spoiled at home growing up. The last one was my last try because the customer service from the bratty kid waitress was appalling, even for IHOP. I've always liked IHOP, this is the only IHOP I've been to in 5 different states nationwide that was so bad I never want to go back. I've actually driven over an hour away to the one in Grandview because I was craving the food but not the crappy service. Even though the waiter in Grandview was very young, new and learning, he made up for it in curtesy and admirable customer service for a waiter in training, unlike some at this IHOP. So yes, it's so bad, I'd rather drive all the way to the city and try my luck at any one of those IHOPs there, KNOWING I'll get better service than anything I could ever receive at the Warrensburg IHOP. read more

Service was really slow, waited nearly 40 minutes just to finally ask someone so that we could take our order, than another 30 or so minutes to get our food. Once the food arrived most of it was just warm, like it had been sitting a while, besides that it was standard IHOP food quality. Once we got our ticket we found out that this IHOP doesn't operate the way you pay the same way the others do, normally you can just go to the front desk when your ready and pay, but instead you let the waitress take your card, and considering how slow service was before, we wisely opted to go to the front and pay. Overall staff was friendly, when you could get there attention, the wait was extremely too long, and the food was ok. Would not recommend this particular IHOP. I was hoping that this place would get better smh. Today I went there for an early lunch I ordered talipia with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My son 8, ordered chicken tenders, they were out of kid's menus. When our food finally came out my talipia "filets" looked like someone had tried it before I did. The filets were broken up and crumbled, it was in some kind of sauce it was digusting and I hadn't even tasted it yet. The server asked the typical question, does everything look ok? And I told her no, look at this plate. Do you want it remade she asked, I told her yes, I was so disgusted that I waited that long and to be served that I told her forget about it. I waited while my son ate his food and waited for me to ask her to refill his cup. She brought the check and it was 10 dollars. . I asked her how I kids meal could cost 10 dollars, she replied oh that is an appetizer plate we gave him not a kids meal....????? I asked her why would you give him and adult plate when I asked you to give him a child's drink?? I noticed that the plate was bigger but I figured maybe that's something new.....needless to say she charged us wrong and they had to change everything. After 7 minutes we still had not seen our server at all while another server was busing the table right next to us. We started asking where our server was and we were only told they would find out. What a shame that I am having to do this. I ordered a couple meals online for pick up thinking it would be convenient. How wrong I was.... So I ordered 2 breakfast meals and received the confirmation email with an estimated time of 10 minutes from after I ordered. So 10 minutes is awful quick but then in again i am ordering breakfast which doesn't take long at all. Well I showed up about 15 minutes later to pick up my items and was met by a very rude cashier who I believe was also the manager and was told it would be 10-15 minutes saying they just received the order. Now I am frustrated as I had an appointment in the next 30 minutes that I was more then likely going to be late for. Why give me a time saying it will be done and then not even start the order until I showed up to pick up my meal? Then to make things worse the food was cold and bland....This may be petty but I was so disappointed. I will never go back to that location again and possibly any IHOP location again over this. read more

I have been here for 3 mornings with a warm welcome every time. I had yummy blueberry pancakes and bacon also brown sugar oatmeal with pecans. Staff was friendly and that was with all customers in the restaurant. Brittany knows her regulars and they seem to appreciate it. When I come back I'll definitely come back. I've been coming here since they've opened. I've had a few "bad" times. Nothing that you wouldn't expect from a brand new opening Resturant, but other than being brand new and adjusting to opening up I think they are improving quite a bit! I get seated promptly, great service, food comes out at a decent minute (depending on time of day, rush hour or slow) I'm definitely waiting for the Grand Opening, it'll let us know their ready! read more

Several days ago we were visiting Warrensburg from out of state and decided to eat at the new IHOP restaurant at 729 N Charles St. We were greeted by three individuals standing at the register and seated immediately, a party of three adults, one toddler and a six week old infant. Within moments our server named Maddy greeted us and took our drink orders. The drinks were served very timely and we placed our food order. Unfortunately, from this point forward, although the waitress periodically asked how we were doing, about an hour passed before I asked if there was a problem in the kitchen and Maddy replied, "We are working on your order but I will check." About five minutes later, she returned and advised that it would not be too much longer, and sorry for the delay." I asked for the check and decided to leave. At the register, Maddy returned from speaking with the manager and advised us that there would be no charge for the drinks and apologized for the delay in serving us our breakfast. It is still not clear what caused the delay, but this IHOP is fairly new and possibly the short order cook is inexperienced. The manager at this restaurant may want to evaluate his staffing because the server was the only positive element of this experience. IHOP used to be one of our favorite places for breakfast, but this place may just need more time to develop before it should be considered in the future. read more

I ate here in Warrensburg, MO on 11/5/17 for breakfast. The garden omelette I ordered was terrible!! It was served at room temperature with completely over cooked rubbery eggs! Vegetables were uncooked, particularly the large chunks of broccoli, and it had cold shredded cheese tossed on the plate, not even melted on the eggs. I have had this omelette many times in the Kansas City area where it was very good. My knife had dried on food on it which I opted not to use. The only reason I didn't complain to the waitress is because I was with friends and I didn't want to make an issue of it. The coffee was also unbelievably bad. It tasted as if it had sat on a burner for a couple of days! The pancakes were good which is the only reason I give any stars at all. Fortunately I live in KC where the IHOP's are much better. Management needs to hang out in the kitchen and provide better training to their cooks, dishwashers and coffee makers! I suggest eating somewhere else. read more
