Western omelet with fresh fruit and English muffin.
    Sandy R.

We have been to many places in Warrensburg and this is our favorite. A great local place where you walk in and sit where you want. Service is friendly and the food is good at a reasonable price with good portions. I ordered the Western Omelet and it was delicious with fresh ingredients. I ordered with an English Muffin which was huge and already buttered with more butter on the side. The fruit is fresh and I had clementine segments, red grapes, and honeydew. My boys like the Toasty and they get that everyone which includes French Toast , meat and eggs. My husband ordered the hash browns with his meal and they looked great and a good portion. Only recommendation would be to have fresh half and half for the coffee. Love the local and friendly vibe here and it's our standard Sunday breakfast when we are here.

There are few breakfast places in Warrensburg, so give this one a shot! It is pretty busy, so come early! We got there early enough we were seated right away. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with tater tots. I wasn't that impressed by the way the sandwich looked, but honestly it was really good. The tots were hot and crispy, just the way I like them!

I am impressed. Huge amount of food, cheap price, great quality. The decor has changed and looks very nice. Happy that we have it another chance since our last visit a few years ago.

Checked out this little mom and pop diner after a coworker recommended it and let me tell you, it was a nice experience! Friendly service and food was cooked to order. The coffee tasted fresh and their pancakes were fluffy. Just come out and try this for yourself if you are in need of a good old fashioned breakfast! You will not regret it

Mary Jane's is a decent place for a country breakfast. The atmosphere reminds one of an oldtime diner. It's casual & friendly.

Great little diner. You get pretty large portions of some pretty amazing food. I only wish they were open a little later in the day.

A young man opened the door for us upon entering the restaurant, which worked there. My Mom is in a wheelchair, so things can be a little more difficult moving around obstacles. We were sat at a very large table near the front door, which worked out perfectly. Actually right in front of the distillery operation of the facility. A patio is available to utilize as well, which makes things nice too. I ordered a Ribeye steak, grilled shrimp, baked potato, steamed vegetables, and complimentary rolls are provided with honey. Rolls are delicious!! Steak was cooked perfect to my liking (medium well). A lot of times places tend to bring my steak back "mooing" and it's more rare, but they cooked it perfectly here! Baked potato was hot and the butter was melted! Steamed vegetables were hot and tender. My side of shrimp was brought out cold..... Once I finally got the server's attention she took it back and had fresh made for me, which was good. A few things I would change.... Waitress to be more attentive. I realize they were getting ready to close, but our ice tea was frequently empty. Also she tended to get a little "pushy" with the bill once it was time to get paid. I hate being rushed, period. I did leave a tip, but it definitely would have been more had these changes been present. I'm generally a good tipper! All in all, the facility was in clean condition. The parking lot is large and flat, so easy to park. They do have a shop where you can buy alcohol, but I never was able to make it in there.

I say that so people don't get upset when I say, Players Restaurant is located in the middle of nowhere, but it's in a safe nowhere! Pulling up was an exciting moment as my oldest daughter was graduating first in her class, a year early from high school and I hadn't seen her in a year. That said, I walked in about 4pm and almost no one was there. I asked the bartender if I could sit in the main room instead of the bar and she was cool with it. Players looks like a sort of Applebees with "crap" all on the walls but upon closer inspection, the photos are of local people. This tells me it's an authentic experience which I gained a much fuller appreciation. My daughters both said they liked the food there, and I was about to meet "the boyfriend" so I was anticipating the encounter. He walked in and I immediately made fun of him to put him at ease (my daughter warned him that I used to do standup) so the vibe was very nice. Next the waitress came over and was so vibrant and courteous that I was impressed. Now, I really liked a lot of menu items I saw but I wasn't that hungry. Again, I'll bring this back later, but could this "redneck restaurant" really make good Saganaki (Greek cheese) and Calamari? Needless to say, I was extremely skeptical however my sweet tea arrived and was spot on. I even asked for NO lemon and she didn't put it in my glass. Forgive my doubts as I used to be a chef so I can generally spot a disingenuous effort before trying it. First up was the Saganaki which came over a burner. Wow, they got part of it right! As an aside, the cheese can be one of many types with Halloumi or a type of sheeps milk feta that's shallow fried. That said, and I hope they read this to add authentic zest to the experience, it needs to be flambeed and hit with a shot of lemon to offset the richness which very loudly proclaiming OPA! Aside from the theatrics it was extremely good and the warm pita was on the money! Next up I had already determined I was making a mistake ordering the calamari. Well, I was wrong again. The squid were perfectly fried and crispy lacking grease that most restaurants think is ok. Players hit it out of the park with my only addition being I would have liked an aioli with it otherwise the dish surprised me. My kids both got fettuccini alfredo with chicken. I tried two bites and found it was average. The sauce was somewhat bland with slightly overcooked pasta. I think most kids would love it but after people build up a good amount of knowledge with quality dishes, this one fell flat. I'm not saying it's bad, but I wouldn't order it. The pork tenderloin sandwich looked good but I didn't taste it. I was dumbfounded by the huge tenderized pork outsizing the bun 3 to 1 giving it the illusion of getting a lot for the money. My daughters boyfriend assured me it was good and wrapped up half to take home. To summarize my review shows that one should never go in with preconceived notions about a restaurant before trying it. Players proved me wrong more often that I'm willing to admit. The staff are very nice, the restaurant has soul, and the food overachieves. If you're in the area I will highly advise dropping by for what could be the best food in town.
