    Breakfast side of menu.

Last week we ate at Waffle House in Richmond KY., Lets see if they are consistent. Men's restroom is clean, place is full of locals, that's a good sign! I ordered the All Star Breakfast. It was, ok! Eggs, were warm hash browns, were warm. Sausage was hot, so I figure everything waited on the sausage. All in all, just ok! Server was not very friendly, but she kept our coffee warm.

Love coming to this place and the hired help is always in a happy mood and they are fast I only wish they would NOT allow smoking or make all the monkeys who smoke go outside nobody wants to smell that cancer

Workers told us we could not dine in because they haven't caught up on dishes! You can't make this stuff up! Don't even waste your time.

Better options in cans) The food was fine. It's a cool place, plenty of outdoor seating, two stages, indoor and out, pool tables, a long bar and only the faintest whispers of cigarette smoke. The servers and bartenders are super friendly. Service was great for us. Along with our trivia, we got thumping music, a drunk and very vocal contingency, impromptu karaoke, and bumping and grinding atop the bar. This was a Tuesday. If anybody ever tells me Oak Grove can't party, I'll tell em they're a lying SOB. Looking forward to the next trivia. I guess.

We've tried The Oak Tavern several times hoping each time it'll be better than the last, but it…read morenever is. Unfortunately the food looks way better than it tastes. The Buffalo chicken pizza (which I've ordered twice) has been watery each time, with toppings sliding right off the limp crust. We've ordered the fried pickles a few times too, and they taste like they were fried in old oil. If you've had fresh fried pickles versus ones fried in bad or old oil, you know the difference. The beef nachos came out cold, served in a big cast iron skillet that also was cold (why serve cold nachos in a cold skillet?). Service at the bar has also been slow every time. Regulars get priority with very attentive service. As a former bartender myself, I get it: the regulars are sure tippers and people you get to know on a personal level. But every customer deserves attentive service regardless if it's their first time in a bar or their 100th. Also something odd about the bar service: each time I've ordered a mixed drink like Jack and Coke, they serve it in a pint glass. Industry standard for a single serving of Jack and Coke is in a short glass/rocks glass, not in a tall glass unless a customer requests it. The first time I thought it was a simple mistake, but it kept happening the other times we went too. This might be policy here to keep the bartender from having to make drinks more often? But it's not industry standard and is strange. I literally never leave negative reviews, but living locally it really sucks this place isn't better. We make the drive to Grain Valley or Blue Springs if we want to go to a bar because we keep getting disappointed. I'll update my next review of The Oak Tavern with pictures if we decide to try again. Rating 2/5 stars because my husband said his smoked wings that were on special were good! And like I said, the food always does *look* pretty. I hope it's better next time if we decide to try again.

The fries were NOT what I was thinking, but they were unique and delicious, crispy with soft inside. I was skeptical about the wrap being served hot, but it definitely worked and was also good. Several large screen TVs make this place perfect for watching "the Big Game". Ok, about the food. My favorite is the Philly flatbread; slightly chewy bread, cream cheese sauce base, and topped with generous amount of roast beef, peppers and onions. (Like a Philly Cheesesteak but laid out on delicious fresh flatbread). Now the onion rings; large onion slices covered in an almost tempura like batter and fried until golden brown...batter flakes off when you bite in on the ring and you will find yourself chasing those tasty batter flakes, so delicious! Give this place a try. It's a bit out of the way for some (Grain Valley, MO) but worth the drive, easy to locate and plenty of parking near. In the KC metro area this place is worth the drive.

I usually go for the same order though haha, but I've enjoyed their hotdogs, corndogs and burgers before! Simple, drive-thru meals that aren't too greasy. The host, and the Yelp app quoted us 10-20 minutes, but we got there after 20 and ended up waiting about 15 more. This was unfortunate since there isn't a big waiting area and we were very much in the way, but the staff was nice and worked to get tables pushed together for us. After being sat it took about 10-15 minutes to get our order in, and about 15-20 for the food to come. Not bad at all with how busy this place is! All of our food came out hot and delicious at the same time! I had the cowboy Benedict with chicken fried steak, and gravy on the side. The steak was alright, pretty thin, and nothing surprisingly tasty about it. The eggs were delicious and my favorite part! The hashbrowns were fine, and the biscuit was also great--crispy edges which were perfect! I got a sticky biscuit with extra icing and really appreciated the amount of icing I got!! This was my favorite part of the meal, again the crispy edges made this such a great texture as well as the taste. Our server Amber did a great job taking care of our large party! She was nice, and checked on us several times. All the staff we came into contact with were very nice and friendly. The bathrooms were small and a little jenky, but otherwise the vibe of this spot was good. Nothing fancy at all, but what you'd expect for a quick turnaround family brunch spot. This would be my first choice for a boujee made-from-scratch meal, but for a large party this is relatively easy to get into--which has been my experience at 2 different locations near KC so far. I'm sure I'll be back with my group again next time we are in the area!
