The meal was fulfilling, waitress was helpful, to include a military discount. However, there was hair in my food. I didn't see it in my plate until I was in the middle of eating. Stopped in Sunday, July 16th around 5:15pm for dinner. HUGE mistake! The server, Lillie, decided to give her audience a show. She couldn't stop moving and TALKING! Talking so loud it made the experience very unenjoyable. That was the most uncomfortable dinner ever. The cook proclaimed he was quitting then walked out. Lillie, at the top of her voice couldn't believe he quit and let my husband, son and myself know the whole business there. First of all...I do not care what's going on there. I really don't. Please let us eat in peace and quiet. People shouldn't have to know everyone's work history and what you and others think of them. Second, I really don't need dinner and a freaking show... plus whatever drugs Lillie was on that made her move so darn much. I've never seen anything thing like that. The yelling at one another and the details of everybody's everything! Why? She kept proclaiming it was embarrassing to have the cook walk out. I'll have to be very hungry to go back there. People want to relax and eat not be caught in workplace drama. Thirty minute captive audience of Lillie the server who thinks we care about her volatile relationship with the cook (and others) there at Waffle House. I did give more than once star because I've eaten there twice before with no problems. It's actually a nice place when I've been there before. I believe Mary (hope I'm remember her name correctly) waited on us before and she was very pleasant. But, Lillie! I've never seen anything like THAT before! She was wanting my name so she could have her manager talk to me so I could tell him/her how horrible the cook was. My wife and I were hesitant about going to a new Waffle House on a recent road trip, after an awful experience in Indiana. But we wanted a late breakfast and reluctantly decided to try this Waffle House in Oak Grove. We had a terrific experience. The food and service were outstanding! And that was amazing because there was only one woman serving the entire restaurant, and she also was bussing the tables and doing all the cooking! This waitress/cook was named Lillie. She was in constant motion. Yet she still gave us plenty of time to make our decisions; she did not rush us. And she was friendly, pleasant and upbeat. On a road trip and stopped by here for lunch. Being from the south Waffle House is always found, so to find them in the Midwest is a dime a dozen. Soon as I walked in I was greeted and immediately served. The staff was so pleasant and friendly. Soon after my order was taken and I got my usual all-star special. Food was delicious! Last week we ate at Waffle House in Richmond KY., Lets see if they are consistent. Men's restroom is clean, place is full of locals, that's a good sign! I ordered the All Star Breakfast. It was, ok! We were greeted by friendly staff just as we entered the restaurant. That friendliness seemed genuine and personable for our whole experience at the restaurant. The waitresses, not just our waitress spoke directly to us and they were very ready to smile. Even the grill cook came over to make sure my wife was happy with her special request for well done bacon. The food was served fresh and hot, and tasted very good. Waffle House food is greasy to begin with, and I knew that going in. But I have a hearing disability, and was having worse problems than usual. The first day went well, the server was helpful with my hearing. But the second day, different server, and again I told her about my hearing. This time, though, when I struggled to understand her, I looked up to see her roll her eyes. If she has trouble with people with disabilities, she should not work in a place where people with disabilities are served. read more

I really did not even want to give it 1 star!!! Horrible experience all the way around!! My husband and I travel a lot. Typically you can pretty much expect what you order to be pretty good and consistent! Not this time. They were not busy...one other customer besides us. Another employee came in and the cook carried on a very loud conversation with him across the restaurant!! Both of our orders were wrong and not cooked very well! My little sister loves this place so my family comes here often on the weekends, but lately we've decided against returning. In other Waffle Houses I've visited the service has been friendly and engaging, like we were old friends. The service here is just really poor. The last time we visited our server seemed like she hated being there. She was impatient, never smiled, and walked away from us abruptly, without a word, each time she dropped something off or we had a question. It seems like a strange way to treat customers, especially ones that visit frequently. I don't always come along, so maybe we caught her on a really horrible day, but if my family wanted a terrible breakfast served by a grumpy person, I could cook it at home for a lot cheaper. read more

This was our first time eating at any Waffle House. We have a couple of places we have been eating breakfast for 20+ years in neighboring towns we have lived in. We both loved our breakfasts today. Our waitress was friendly and our food came super fast to the table. We will definitely add this to our list of favorite places for breakfast! We usually have great service at this Waffle House but today was much different. Our first waitress we had was absolutely HORRIBLE! It took about 10-15 mins for her to even greet us(they were not that busy) she kept walking by us not even saying a word. Then finally when she did we didn't get "hi sorry about your wait" or even a nice smile just a "what can I get you to drink". She promptly got our drinks for us then just walked away. Didn't ask if we were ready to order or nothing. Another 10-15 mins goes by and she was still just walking right past us like we weren't even there. Oh and no sense of urgency what's so ever. I finally had to flag another waitress down just to take our order. She was super sweet and very attentive. I believe her name was aryn. She apologize for the wait and took our order. The other girl who I first mentioned kept disappearing to who knows where. Neglecting her other tables she had. When she finally came back she sat down and started eating in front of them at another table. I'm a server and I find this very unprofessional. Other staff were eating and drinking on the food prep lines. One girl dropped a tub of sauce the lid popped off and fell on the floor she didn't even wash it off or anything just screwed it back on. I eat out probably 90 percent of the time. I've eaten at many Waffle Houses. My wife was with me and we decided since we were tired to just grab a quick bite here. I was (always an) very specific about my order. It was screwed up all of the way around. Horrible place where they were too busy yelling their conversation back and forth across the room to each other. The attitude of the server reflects the manager and owner of a restaurant. I like Waffle House chain, but this location needs people who actually like to work with each other and customers. Several servers have great potential to making this a great place to eat, but the cook and her attitude make it an unpleasant meal experience.
