Had lunch there today with my friend we had turkey stuffing with gravy, mashed potato and green beans and my friend had okra couldn't complain. It was absolutely delicious. I would go again most definitely can't complain. It was very busy extremely busy, but we didn't have to wait too long for our food.. Sitting in the booth behind us I'm sure it was Nick Nolte, if not, it was a double ganged it really did look like him. We stopped in for breakfast on a beautiful fall Saturday morning and the place was very busy but we were seated quickly. Within moments coffee was served and our orders taken by very pleasant servers. I had a ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and pancakes while Mary ordered the biscuits and gravy. The food is pretty decent, despite being overpriced. I usually ordered an omelette and tea ($18+ before the senior discount - always ask for that if you qualify!). BUT yesterday I was treated DISGRACEFULLY by the staff and manager! I've been eating there for about two years, sometimes up to 2-3x/week. My folks live about an hour from Sedalia and I drive my father to dialysis 3/x week. While waiting, I often went to CK for breakfast. Since I have a lot of time to kill, especially when it's too hot to sit in the car while waiting, I read a book while I enjoy a leisurely breakfast. On the weekdays CK is almost never full, so I feel this should be fine since I'm ordering a relatively pricey meal and tip over 18%. Yesterday, however was a Saturday. I wasn't facing the door and didn't realize people were waiting to be seated. No one had hinted that my reading was a problem for two years. Yet yesterday, the manager (his name is Justin) aggressively sat across from me in the booth, surprising me, and began with accusations. Not "Hello, may I sit down?" or standing beside my table - just jumping in like he was mad. Then he said "I've been told you were here for 3 hours yesterday (it was 2 hours BTW) reading. We have people waiting to sit and you need to leave NOW!" I had been there 1 hour and was only halfway through my first tea refill. I said I didn't realize and would like to drink a bit more of my tea first. He violently grabbed my tea out of my hand and told me to leave! If he had just treated me with respect as a long time polite and friendly customer who has spent over a $1,000 at their restaurant and explained the situation without accusing me with exaggerated timelines based on another time when the restaurant wasn't full, I would have turned around and said "oh, yes, I'm sorry" and left but insteadI was treated like a criminal. I now feel betrayed that I frequented this establishment and have been treated so poorly. I have never ever been asked to leave any establishment in my 60 years before this incident. read more

Let's remember that this place is located in Sedalia, MO. There are no diners here, no corner delis selling awesome egg sandwiches... so in my opinion Country Kitchen is what it is: a franchise-esque restaurant, with average meals (reminds me of IHOP's menu). The staff here is very friendly and attentive...so attention to detail that they continously refill your cup of coffee...even when you have had only to sips, and annoyingly you have re-sugar and cream it...(tip: place your cup away from their reach, and ask for a refill when ever needed). My breakfast was fine, but my friend's strawberry cream-cheese french toast was to die for!!! read more

This is my go-to breakfast place without a doubt. The service is the best in town, there's no way any other place can top the attentiveness and courtesy that CK shows. This is one of the very few(1 or 2) places in Sedalia that I can count on having excellent food EVERY time. If you're feeling bold, try the country fried steak & eggs with brown gravy instead of the white, you will not regret it. They also have homemade soups and a clean salad bar. read more

I Just left the Sedalia Missouri Country Kitchen restaurant. My son has multiple food allergies(wheat,milk,eggs,peanuts, gluten), therefore we have to bring in our own food for him to eat when we choose to eat out. We were informed by the management that he could not eat outside food in their restaurant. Their reasoning was because they didn't want to be responsible if he got sick in their restaurant. Which is a big load of BS. Everyplace else we go does not have a problem with us bringing in outside food for one of our party especially when they find out he has food allergies. Seems to me that they would rather us bring in food from the outside rather than risking him eating their food and getting sick from it. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anybody because of the management and their views on people with food allergies! read more
