I have to be truthful on this review. I made a point to go to the main website and email the corporate office of the findings at a visit (didn't stay for dinner). When you go to a restaurant in your city, you always want it to make a good impression on anyone that visits. Especially if it is right off of the interstate. I did receive a "Thank You" for the email from the corporate office and then a response from the restaurant. I still feel a need to give a comment and review of what my husband and I saw on a Saturday evening. First impressions should always give you a direct decision on whether to go in or not. We walked in to a somewhat empty restaurant thinking we would get instant service. The parking lot was so littered with trash, that it should have been an instant indication. Then, being seated and glancing at the floor was #2. There was not a clean spot on the floor. Then, even though the place was almost empty, there was not a clean table and we had to wait for a table to be cleared. Then, number 3 was when I found hair on the table. Before the waitress came to the table we just had to leave. I hope that the email and this review helps to improve this location since it is so close to the interstate in a high traffic area and somewhat represents a favorite breakfast place in the Midwest and our city. read more

Terre Haute location of the national chain. The place seems to do a great business especially late at night. I usually visit early in the morning on the weekends before the church crowd gets there. Each time I have eaten there the food has been good. Always hot when delivered to the table. The service is usually stellar. Suspect service only once while I was there. Price range including drinks is closer to 7.50-12.50 per person when you include tips. The detractions which prevent a 5 star rating include, It is difficult to get into and out of if you are not driving a certain way on 3rd street. Okay, confession: I'm not truly an IHOP fan. Not really. But, when my partner's mother brought us here to try the red velvet pancakes, I had to give in. And, I'm so glad I did. They were fluffy, like cake, (but still pancakes), with icing and whipped cream. Sweet but not deadly sweet, and just perfect! Stopped in with the family for Sunday brunch. Only waited about 5 minutes for a table, which I thought was pretty good for Sunday brunch. Everything was clean and neat. The staff was friendly and our waiter managed to smile through my kids changing orders twice. (Thanks!) I ordered some sinfully, scrumptious New York Cheesecake pancakes that were far to good to be good for me. Everything was hot and tasty. Came in for Sunday morning breakfast with my family to a sweat box! When I asked our server about the air conditioning, he informed us that it has been broken for 2 weeks and Corporate refuses to fix it! All of the staff were drenched in sweat! I have been on a long trip and this has been a small little paradise for me at 7 am. Granted I haven't eaten for half a day, but this really made me happy. The waitresses helped each other out to keep me from waiting too long, yet they weren't overbearing. I enjoyed my meal and it was the perfect price for what I wanted. I was more than happy to tip over 25 percent for this place because everything worked out so well. Not to mention, the place was clean, it had a good atmosphere, and perfect location right off of highway 70. I couldn't have asked for more. I placed an online order that said it was ready at 9:47pm, I arrived two minutes before. I told them i was there to pickup my order. The lady told me she just had to make my milkshake and then it would be out to me. I sat and waited for another 20 minutes and my milkshake was in a kids cup. My milkshake was watery, my food was cold, my food was not made properly, and they didn't give me silverware for my order. I do not recommend this IHop. read more

This is the BEST IHOP I have EVER been to. I have never been to any other establishment (not just restaurants) that has the best consomer service. When I am there, and I go a lot not, they treat each individual customer with the best care and respect we need. The FOOD is fire everytime. I normally come in late night from between 10pm-3am and every time it seems like the seating service is always lacking. I've waited up to 10 minutes before just to get a seat when the restaurant was all but empty only to have our waitress talk about puss coming out of a wound on her leg on the way to the table. Talk about losing your apatite! I've had my order get screwed up more times than I haven't at this location. I love the chain but I no longer come to the Terre Haute location for ihop. My family and I stopped in for lunch today and had a great experience. We were greeted by the super polite hostesses who, despite being very busy, made us feel very welcome and got us seated quickly. Our server was David and he did an excellent job. He was very attentive and kind. He always kept our drinks full and got our food to us quickly. The food was delicious, much better than we expected at a lunch rush honestly. Everything was fresh, hot, and cooked just how it should be. The restaurant was clean and hostesses and waitresses were cleaning any messes quickly. The managers were out working with the staff and directing them as needed. As someone who has worked in restaurants and management (separately) for years, I was pleased with what I saw. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this location! This ihop is so poorly ran. I went in to get lunch today and it was a complete mess. Our server, Codi must've been new because she was not very good. We weren't even greeted by her. Some other girl got us our drinks for us. Then it took us about 45 minutes to get our food. Our server didn't check in on us very much, and she as well as the other servers seemed only focused on leaving. There was a moment when the host asked if anyone wanted a table and they all moaned. It was especially annoying that right when we got our food our server immediately brought the check. I had barely taken a bite and she was already rushing us out. Mind you the restaurant was not busy AT ALL and we were being treated poorly as guests. The food was very good though. I think ihop needs to get their employees better trained and pushed to have better attitudes. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant lunch out. read more

Worst service I have ever received at any restaurant. Waitress did not pay any attention to us. We waited over an hour to get our food, once we finally received our meals they were all cold. Management had a lack of care. We spoke to the manager and he said well we're sorry but all we can do is remake it all if you want to wait?
