What has happened with Outback in this past year!? I generally always place a take out order about once a month. I always order the same entree. Every single time I order the price is never the same, usually off anywhere from 60 cents to a dollar. I don't get it. Also I always tell them I'm a reward member. I haven't received 1 reward in over a year. Why promote a rewards program if you don't give your customers credit for purchases???? The food quality is good and I always tip well when they bring to my car. I just wish their pricing was consistent and reward points are given consistently. I've spoken to a manager off and on during the past year and have been assured that pricing should never vary unless there is a price increase and was told to always let them know I'm a reward member. To date, pricing is still inconsistent and reward points have only been noted a couple of times. My take away is something is amiss in training and either their computer software needs replaced for accurate math or the batteries need changed in the calculator. I give up! read more

I will never go back to an outback steakhouse.... I think the management/ownership needs to revisit customer service. In recent years food has declined substantially. The steaks used to be very good however the last few times I've eaten there they have been extremely tough. They charge for every upgrade and it's just not worth going there anymore. Again I think the owner of the Terre Haute location is very combative and when complaint was made she would not even listen to the customer. read more

Dining with the Outback for New Years Eve and while the dining room is not full, the Doordash orders keep flooding in. This has caused them to struggle a bit but the food and service are FLAWLESS! We had not been to Outback for a while so we decided to drop by last night for dinner. The place was about empty so we were seated immediately and the server was very attentive. I can't believe how disappointed we both were with our meals! I really think that they were just reheated because the Alice springs chicken I ordered came back as two small patties with some rubbery cheese on the top. The mashed potatoes taste like they were microwaved. My wife had chicken and shrimp and the shrimp is about as rubbery as it gets. Steak medallions overcooked. This was my first time at Outback and I was greatly disappointed. It was a busy Friday night so maybe that was why both the food and the service wasn't good. Thank god, one of my friends orders the moonshine pitcher for the table because it distracted us a little bit while we waited way too long for our food. We spent two hours at this restaurant - half of it was spent waiting. It honestly should not take that long. I ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer and the sirloin and coconut shrimp. The seared ahi tuna was actually really good. I ordered my stake to be cooked medium rare but it came out medium well to well done. It took some serious elbow grease to cut the meat and chew it. The coconut shrimp was good despite that. I find it funny that the seafood at a steakhouse tastes better than the steak. read more

My friends and I recently met at Outback for lunch. I have this a 3 star because although the service was good, the food was lacking. We ordered off the lunch favorites for $12.99 we got a 6 oz steak with 1 side. I got a salad with the steak. I asked what it would cost to upgrade the salad to a cup of French onion soup and was told $7.99 additional, which I felt was high so I declined. The steak was ordered medium rare and was a little on the tougher side. It was rolled in pepper and one of my friends attempted to cut his pepper off. This is the worst Outback I have ever been to. I don't even know where to begin with our experience. The best part was walking in and getting quoted an hour wait time, going to sit down, and then hearing the manager announce to everyone that there was a booth open in the bar and it was first come first serve. There was a moment of silence while everyone glanced at each other before starting to run towards the booth. Luckily, we got the seat but I did feel guilty that some people had been waiting for a very long time while we hadn't waited at all. We ordered the bloomin' onion - which is a must when visiting a chain steakhouse, but were so disappointed to find it had been fried earlier in the night and was now cold and just completely saturated in oil. My date and I both got the sirloins cooked medium well. 45 minutes later...What we received was a small medallion of something that didn't quite resemble steak and tasted like cold beef jerky. I have NEVER made a complaint at a restaurant, but when the waitress saw that we didn't have any interest in eating the steaks she asked if something was wrong. She agreed that the steak didn't look top notch and offered to have two more made. Then she asked if we would like to keep the old steaks to take home to our dog, which actually made me laugh out loud because it was hardly fit for a dog. 30 more minutes later we had eaten our sides and were getting irritated with how long we had sat in the restaurant. The manager finally comes over with two new steaks, and I kid you not....they didn't look any different! He asked if they looked satisfactory and we said yes so we could just leave. The manager took the two old steaks from us that were previously offered to us by the waitress, not that it matters but it made me feel like he was worried we just wanted free food. Trust me sir, we didn't want it. So after over an hour of waiting for decent food, it never arrived. We got 33% taken off of our bill (random?) without asking which was a nice gesture. The manager said he did it because of the wait, no mention of the horrendous food quality. Long story short - okay, not so short, this Outback doesn't have a knack for putting out quality food or practicing customer service. We won't go Back. This is probably why the Texas Roadhouse gets all of the business in Terre Haute. read more

Let's start with when we entered there were about 6 tables that had folks eating, we were told it would be a 15-minute wait due to lack of staff. Our server was not attentive but friendly. She took our orders, and we got our salad but the onions in it were so hot no one at our table finished. the wife and I ordered the sirloin and shrimp, the other couple ordered ribeye's, and no one could eat the steaks, they were dry and tough and top that off as I was eating the baked potato, I felt something in my mouth that turned out to be a bristle off of a brush, it was around 2 inches long. I sent my meal back, it was just a disaster. The place was dark bathrooms were dirty and stunk. they need to close this store South end of Terre Haute and build East. read more

My wife and I had our Valentines dinner here, we made call ahead reservations which we were told to check in when we arrived and should take no longer than 20 minutes to be seated. When we arrived I checked in and we're quoted 40 minutes okay I thought no problem we were just enjoying each others company. Happily they called us in about 10 minutes, a happy surprise. We were seated and waited on by the most cordial waitress ( she was outstanding ) We ordered drinks and a blooming onion , steak and all the trimming's, but that's where things fell well short of expectations. The blooming onion was way over-spiced ( almost too spicy to eat , but we still managed to eat about 1/3. ) the steak also was over salted but was cooked to perfection. so overall I give the experience a (C-) . The hostess was nice but our waitress seemed annoyed when we wanted a refill. The bread was warm and soft which is a plus. My fiancé got the outback burger and said Burger King had more flavor. I went here for an office Christmas lunch. We had made reservations and still had to wait for about 10 minutes. Not sure why, I saw many tables open. We were then seated in a booth and our waiter came. Let me just say his demeanor was deadpan! There was no eagerness or cheerfulness at all. Well what a shock, we had a waiter with an attitude. Came in on 7-6-2014. We had a party of seven and were put in a booth. We found this to be too small and we asked for a table... the waiter was rude and stated all everyone get up now and go back to the front and request a table? Can he not do that for us? The when we were seated at the table one end of the table was broken and leaning in the middle, the manager told us this was the best he could do? we ended up rearranging the table so our plate would fall in the middle.
