Went to have dinner with in-laws to celebrate their 68th. Red Lobster was their choice. We haven't been there for years so I was curious to see how food and atmosphere were. All in all, food was very good. The server, Arianna, was very helpful to clarify questions and offer advice. We slipped her a note to surprise the 68th anniversary "newlyweds" with a piece of chocolate cake. WOW....!! It was a huge slab and really good. There was enough to share a few bites between 4 of us. Not sure I got a picture of it, but trust me that it was good. Red Lobster came thru ok on this meal. It was a tad pricey for my comfort level, but it was still a good experience. Side note--While waiting in car under the entry awning, two collaterals hopped into my car with a sack of carryout food.. They thought I was their uber. I should have pulled away to act like I truly was, but I was honestly startled....but in a fun way. They were totally apologetic. Went there for a late lunch yesterday. There was other 8 diners in there so it was quiet. Order was taken quickly and bread and water was delivered. The quickness stopped there. Took 20 minutes for my salad and another 30 for my meal. The server kept apologizing but still no food. I finally had him pack up my meal to go as I had lost my appetite by then. A funny addendum is the entree included a side and I asked if a salad was included as the side. Ye said yes but also charged me for it! When I got the shrimp fettuccine home it was just one big glob so I threw it out. I think I'll pass on this place for a while. read more

Genuinely had such amazing service here! Waiter constantly refilled our water and biscuits and made sure we were doing okay! Food came out quickly, and portion sizes were wayyy more than enough. To start off, this was my first time ever trying the Red Lobster establishment. After seeing positive reviews on social media, I decided to give it a try with my friend who has had it numerous times at other locations. I will start off with saying that overall, the food was overall good. We waited at the host stand for over five minutes, waiting to be greeted, when the whole establishment was not busy at all. Once we finally got seated at our table, we heard every conversation that was going on in the kitchen, as the workers were screaming and being obnoxiously loud for the restaurant being open. However, the server that we had was terrible. The server, Jay, made us feel very uncomfortable and unsure about this experience. While he came up to the table to greet us, he started off with saying that he was very sweaty, and he was happy that we were his last table so he could get cut. Overall, the service was quick, but we never once got a drink refill until halfway done with our entrées. Before our entrées even came out, he said he would grab us another round of biscuits and we didn't get those until we were also around halfway done with our meal. When the check came out, he sat at the table and waited for us to put our cash in to pay. We awkwardly looked at him and he said he was just waiting on us. As someone who has always worked in the food industry, I always tip over 20%, when the service is good. The service was absolutely terrible, and I barely tipped due to the poor skills displayed. Visited on December 27. As soon as I opened the door, the odor was horrible. Backed up sewage is not what a customer wants to smell, especially at a restaurant. Makes me wonder how many customers opened the door then turned around and left. I stayed. The food was very good. The waitress was doing her best to keep up, but they were understaffed today. I come here when I am visiting my folks. They only want to sit in the bar, so I am never in the dining room (not sure if I know what it even looks like back there). We also go during off hours to miss the lunch crowd and avoid a dinner crowd all together. They also think Tammy is the best waitress ever (she has worked for Red Lobster for like 30 years! and I too kind of agree she might be the best waitress ever...she sets the bar on kindness and is ever so sweet to my parents. Although my folks have said that sometime the fish will be not so great one time versus another time, I think my personal experiences having come here a dozen plus times over the last few years and three times this last month, my meals have been consistent. Always attempting to seek out the maximize amount of protein and greens, minimal amount of bad carbs and butters, their summer power bowls have hit the mark for me personally. Really a great healthy meal option that checks all the boxes in my book. I have had it with the salmon (which is the same size portion of salmon on the lunch menu if I was just going to order a piece of salmon). Fresh, light, wholesome and delicious. This Red Lobster at this location has been in Terre Haute since I was a kid. It is nostalgic in many ways with that aquarium of lobsters right there to greet me at the front door as always. Maybe the ambiance could be a bit brighter and the Red Lobster brand could use a refresh to do this, but the establishment is always clean, albeit a little stale. But bring on the cheddar biscuits (which have shrank in size over the years but are the same deliciousness I remember from my youth!), in hopes that Tammy is working and me and my parents will gladly return. read more

I travel to western Indiana about once a month on business so I've eaten at a fair number of restaurants in Terre Haute. I really haven't been to Red Lobster in years and figured I'd give it a try since I didn't really want another Longhorn steak. This trip will probably cure me if wanting Red Lobster until my memory fades of this trip fades enough so that I forget how miserable this trip was. Since I really wasn't sure what I wanted I got some kind of combo that included a variety of fried seafood. I always thought Red Lobster served good fried shrimp and this is still basically true, but it seems the size of the shrimp has shrunk substantially. Unfortunately, the shrimp was the only portion of the meal that was worth a dam. The scallops and clam strips were so small and overcooked they were more like the extra fried batter you get with Long John Silvers fish. The breading on the fish filet was actually thicker than the filet, itself. Even the famous cheesy biscuits were undercooked and doughy. This was some of the worst seafood I've ever had. I would have been much better going to the Longhorn or even Long John Silvers. read more

I would like to preface this review with the fact that this is my second visit to a Red Lobster - ever. Maybe it's one of those places that grows on you because you've gone there your entire life and have fond memories of. For me, it was just a place to grab lunch. We had a large party so we made a reservation a week ahead. Showed up only to find out no one put it in the system (minus one star). We had the name of the person who was on the phone and everything but things happen I guess. I got the make your own lunch special with fried scallops and garlic shrimp scampi. I liked the seasoning of the scampi but there were like five shrimps on the plate. The quantity of the scallops were more but the quality was less (minus one star). Honestly it just looked sad sitting on my plate. I think the portions were really small - even for my coworkers who had different items. The only plate that looked filling was the bourbon glaze shrimp skewers. Overall, if this place is nostalgic then go for it. If not, I'd say skip it and try some other place. The three stars are really for our fantastic waiter. read more

We are there tonight. Service was a joke. Our food arrived server's gave it to the table beside us. So some of us had cold food others did not have any food the whole meal was a shitshow. One manager was totally aware how our meal was. Then we paid explained all of the problems to another manager. We assumed he would give us some kind of a discount nothing. I have never had such bad service at a restaurant. Those two managers do not worry about people returning. Evidently. Because I know 4 people who are very unhappy. On top of it we had a baby with us who had to wait all that time. Our meal probably took 3 hrs. It was disgusting food was cold. When u pay that much for meals that is very unacceptable. Horrible. I called Friday and specifically asked if they took reservations and was told yes. Set an RSVP for 4pm on Sunday. After 25 minutes of waiting today. I inquired how much longer as our RSVP was at 4pm. We were then informed that it was NOT an RSVP but just a call in. It's Mother's Day so I was specifically trying to find a place with reservations as my mother can't stand long. Be honest. Don't lie! Even explained our situation and was looked at like "who cares". Went with the family to enjoy endless shrimp. We have been doing this for a number of years. We looked at the offerings and noticed that Coconut shrimp was not listed? I explained to my family that it wasn't offered last year either but you could get it anyway. I would love to post a picture of our food, but we never got that far. Yes, it is a chain and you are supposed to know what to expect. We were close and thought we would eat here, because we were hungry. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait which was acceptable. We watched many waitstaff hovering around the hostess station discussing problems. The manager appeared and asked one coming on to shift to clock in and help early. Evidently that isn't allowed unless the manager overrides the early clock in? I shouldn't know this or other problems that were discussed with as many as 6 waitstaff hovering over the hostess station at times.After 25 minutes of waiting, we realized everyone who had come in after us had been seated. I went up and asked how long it would be for us to get a table. The hostess said, "Give us a minute." I sat down and waited again for about 3 minutes as she and another person hovered over their screen. (The manager bumped into me three times as she passed us seated to the side of the hostess stand the entire time we were waiting. She did apologize once). The hostess looked at me several times in those three minutes since I asked her how long our wait would be. She then came and asked our name again. I gave it to her. She picked up 2 menus and walked us to a table. She said, "There has been so much going on at once I couldn't keep everyone straight." We finally got a table! We were hungry! After 10 minutes of sitting at the table with our menus, no waitstaff had even acknowledged us. We got up and left and no one noticed. We have eaten here many times over the years. We actually questioned going here this afternoon because of lagging service in the past. This afternoon was the worst. It was 4:15 on a Saturday. Not the busiest time I would think. I've only been to Red Lobster a few times, so I can't say if this was a problem with this restaurant or the chain. My companion and I both ordered the surf and turf (steak and lobster). They both came with two sides and a salad... way too much food. Maybe we wouldn't have spent over $100 if they didn't give you more than you could eat. We were quite disappointed in the quality of the food. Our lobsters were dry and chewy, my steak was a terrible cut and was so mangled it looked like a dried out hamburger, and the "fresh" vegetables were shriveled up and dried up. I couldn't believe how lacking this food was for the price. I will say that our server, Paige, was fantastic. She was obviously very busy but still got us everything in a timely manner and was very polite - checked up on us regularly. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks. The sangria was very good, no complaints there. But my companion had the margarita which was $10 First of all! It didn't come with salt or sugar on the rim, and it tasted like a Speedway Freeze. It was so sweet and syrup loaded and didn't seem to have any alcohol in it. He couldn't even drink it so it was wasted. It was disgusting, much like our meal. just went to Red Lobster this week, is one of my favorites for sure,and I have visited many locations around the country. taking that in consideration, I must see, food is always good. always had good friendly staff working. prices are higher than most chain restaurants,so we dont go there as often as I would like, and the nearest branch to our home its over an hour away. ( 62401) but, going there through the years its kind of hard to watch the branches never being updated. the carpets always dirty and old.the smell of old grease impregnated everywhere. they been looking dingier and dingier through the years. This was the first time going to this location. The food at Red Lobster is always fantastic. No matter witch location you go to. This one has the best service. The chick who waited on my wife and I was very nice and she also got us containers for our left over without us even asking. There cheddar biscuits are to die for. They are so good. This was a great experience at any restaurant I have been to. BTW idk why other people haven't given 5 stars but I see nothing but good things about the food here and service. We will be going again. Normally a good experience, however things just did not go well tonight. My wife's salad was missing one of the dressings, and her order for endless shrimp was not correct. She cannot do heat, and had ordered plain breaded. They have her the new Nashville hit shrimp. Which was good, but way to spicy for her. They corrected this promptly, and my wife ordered the linguine. This came out as a plate of gritty buttered noodles, with some shrimp thrown in it. All in all, not a good dinner for her to say the least. We had one of the roving managers ask about out meal, and we mentioned what was wrong. I would have him to at least comped us our sodas, or may be the mac and cheese for our two and a half year old, but when the check came... nothing take off.
