We finally decided to give IHOP here in Springfield another try, and had a MUCH better experience!! Of course, like most breakfast/brunch spots, the secret here is to come during "off" hours, or to beat the rush. I think we got very lucky and beat the rush on a recent rainy Saturday morning, and we were MUCH happier than after our first (aborted) visit!! We were seated quickly, got our coffee and orders taken quickly, and got service with a smile, even as the place started filling up over the course of our visit. I ordered some sort of pancake sliders-- an egg and sausage sandwiched between two pancakes and the Mr. got a steak omelet. Both looked good, though if I got those sliders again, I'd ask them not to pre-douse them with syrup; it was just a bit too much. Good service, fresh coffee and good, reasonably-priced food, no complaints!! IHOP, keep up the good work and welcome to Springfield!!

Got together with in laws and the six of us went to breakfast on a Monday morning. We were seated quickly. Service was excellent, waitress was attentive brought coffee pot refills before they were empty. The food was great, it all came out at the same time and was hot and prepared as ordered. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and I will be back.

Good prices and good food. Love this store when they have enough workers. In the past it was slow, but has gotten better.

Service is very friendly and attentive. Servers know the menu and can make recommendations. Ambiance is county style kitchen. An area for improvement would be the cleanliness. Plenty of parking including several handicap spaces. Speaking solely for the (all day) breakfast, food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Over easy eggs were wonderfully runny, toast had the perfect amount of butter, the bacon done exactly right, slightly crispy but soft enough to be comfortingly chewy. And a generous amount too. Turkey sausage links were as anticipated, mild in flavor, and the silver dollar pancakes were actually pretty large and quite tasty. Coffee was okay, served in a large mug. If you want milk or cream (which is probably the fake stuff) in your coffee speak up when you order, as we were not asked. Service started out somewhat shaky but improved as time went on. You pay your tab at a register on the way out, and they have envelopes for each server if you want to leave a cash tip. They have a shelf of local jams, jellies, and honey for sale. The dessert list on the chalkboard indicated some delightful sounding pies, but I'm saving my calories at present so had to pass. I see they have two other locations, so hope to try one of the others as well next time we're between Urbana and Eaton.

Music and art on the walls making for a great dining-in experience when what we mostly get back home is take-out. They had a menu covering breakfast and lunch so we started with a fried patty with chicken from the breakfast selection. We're used to generous plates with Haitian cuisine and Rose Goute didn't disappoint. The legim was smooth and rich, deep complex flavors with some heat but by no means overhwhelming. Perfectly balanced with the diri djondjon mushroom rice. We also had a chicken plate and griot (pork.) Rose Goute has made our list for "whenever we're in town." Looking forward to Soup Joumou or spaghetti from the breakfast menu. THANK YOU!

The baked patties I tried were fish, and were extremely similar to a tuna melt and far larger than I expected as I was used to fried patties. The space was designed for efficiency and the moment I completed my patties the main course I had ordered of Goute was ready, realizing I had asked for way too much food for one sitting I asked for a box and the chef quickly brought one and boxed it herself for me to ensure everything travelled and reheated well. The pork (goute) was crisp and refreshing, served with plantains, Russian salad, spicy coleslaw, and some type of noodle dish. I was really impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and how everything just worked together in completely unexpected ways.

We ordered and I asked for French toast, and she ordered eggs, hotcakes & bacon. My toast came and it was absolutely not cooked! I just stared at white bread with some white egg on it! The waitress immediately saw my reaction and said, oh I'm taking this back! That's not done well and I'll take them back to be replaced. I couldn't argue because they were truly inedible. Of course it took a little time. My granddaughter almost finished her meal and the waitress returned with a much more appetizing plate. They were delicious and it was appreciated. Heres the part that was above and beyond- she not only took it off but the entire bill was only a little over $5, so they must've credited my granddaughters meal somewhat AND this young waitress, Kira, brought us a paper bag with a full banana nut bread apologizing again! Wow! Not expected and I never responded I was upset so I feel like she had truly done everything she could to make certain we left in a positive light. This restaurant picked the right staff to represent them. I hope they realize that these gestures left us willing to return and to make sure we pass on how much they did to resolve a problem and turn it around. Thank you Kira!
