My co-workers and I went to this location the other day and we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our food. We only get a half hour for lunch. Needless to say we were late getting back to work. We complain to the manager and he didn't charge us for our meals. Everyone sitting around us were upset too because they to had sat there forever waiting for their food. I like IHOP but I will not go to this location anymore. The Lexington location is always busy but the service and wait times are so much better. read more

My experience in one word: Horrendous. After dining at nearly every restaurant in the Richmond area, it was time to once again visit IHop. Based on the menu, it is next to impossible to decide what one may fancy. So I turned to our server for advice. With her extensive knowledge of the menu, she recommended the biscuit and gravy, and considering the great value that it was, I added a side to my meal. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the impending feast, I sipped my iced coffee for the better part of an hour. Finally, in a glorious parade, the food was delivered by 2 waitresses with the personality traits of a wheelbarrow full of gravel. The feast was served, and the waitresses quickly retreated to the peacefulness of the kitchen, not to be bothered by the requests of patrons. Back to the feast, my eggs, bacon, and hash browns were nothing to write home about but are also not the star of this review. My pancakes were cold disks of cardboard held together by a single glob of nearly frozen butter, that were only edible with the enhancement of high fructose corn syrup, disguised by the taste of maple syrup. As disappointed as a failing grad student, I held out hope that my biscuit and gravy would save the day. Eager to find out what the hype was all about, I plunged my fork into a fluffy biscuit dripping with gravy, and stuck it into my mouth. The mass of dough that was called a "biscuit" was soaked in "gravy" and served at a piping hot -37 degrees. Deeply saddened by the betrayal of my waitress, I asked for a new serving because mine was lackluster. Overwhelmed with concerned, my waitress quickly swept up our plates and ensured us that the microwave would save the day. After approximately the lifespan of a fruit fly, she returned to us with desert, our biscuit and gravy. This time, slightly warmed to just above freezing. After finishing my desert, I came to the conclusion that my waitress must not be from the "south" and that was the worst breakfast at 8:00 P.M. that I've ever had, in fact, worse than any breakfast at 8:00 A.M. that I've ever had. With deep sadness in my soul, I left IHop longing for a breakfast restaurant to cure my cravings at 8:00 P.M. with great service AND food. Next time, I will stay at home and eat Lucky Charms, wrapped in a swaddling blanket, and pursue my obsession of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Drives, and let Guy Fieri take me on a tour of Flavortown. read more

Wait staff was excellent checking on us and make sure we had refills. The wait time on the other hand was ridiculous. 2 hours for pancakes and chicken and waffles, is not acceptable. The restaurant wasn't overly busy. No reason was given for our wait time for food. I'm pretty sure the kitchen staff took a lunch break while we waited. We will not be returning. This place has been notorious for extremely slow service since it opened. Wait staff always bring drinks quickly, but often forget basic things like silverware and lids for kids drinks. Wait time from ordering of food to delivery is horrendous. Usually have to wait 30 to 45 min. The only reason this place is still open is because Bob Evans across the street closed. Our server was very sweet, but the actual service of ordering/getting our meals was terrible. We stopped in at a time when the restaurant was virtually empty, which makes it even more confusing as to why the service/food were so bad. The food was incredibly disgusting, unfortunately. Every single order (5 orders) was wrong. We were given food sides that we didn't order or want, and had to ask for the missing items, some that were never brought. My granddaughter's meal was supposed to be chicken nuggets and fries, but came out with corn instead of fries. The fries did not come out until everyone else was basically finished with their food. I ordered toast with my meal, got pancakes. Finally got toast, that unfortunately tasted like stale bread with oil drizzled over it, that I could not eat. My son's meal should've came with a 5-stack of pancakes, but he was given two. Two people at our table ordered hash browns with onions; we received 4 orders of undercooked, mushy hash browns - one of which had onions. My eggs were severely undercooked (runny, gooey whites), another person's at my table were so overcooked they were rubbery, both inedible. Left feeling sick from the food that I did manage to get down. This is the second bad experience we've had at this restaurant. We won't be going back. read more

I have always loved IHOP. I have grown up here eating Sunday brunches for for the last couple years. I called I to this IHOP because one of my friends is gluten intolerant. Savannah answered the phone with absolutely no care for the customer. I felt degraded and that my friends intolerance was not cared about. I think that Savannah is a terrible host. I tried to be forgiving in my original review since they had just opened. I have been here around 4 times since then, and there is no hope. The servers are always friendly and the place is clean, but the kitchen is terrible. Although friendly, our waitress rarely appeared at our table and was very slow. Leaving us without beverage refills and waiting for a half an hour for our bill. We recently went to ihop because we love pancakes. Granted a new restaurant is going to have hiccups, and we were wary to go based on what other people have told us. Our waitress seemed like she wasn't sure what she was doing. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes, and watching two tables that arrived considerably later than us getting their food before us, we left. We never recieved our food. I used to enjoy this IHOP, but now its just a joke, our service today was dreadful, the place was empty and it took over 40 minutes to get our food. My wife ordered cooked through eggs and crispy bacon, and when it came out the egg whites were runny and the bacon barely cooked. When we politely complained to a manager, she turns to my wife who is pregnant and asks her if her hormones were out of whack.... I basically paid money to be insulted and have a terrible experience. In the end another manager comped half our meal but honestly I got the feeling that they really didn't want to. Table of 5 on a Sunday evening. The server practiced her "stream of thought" coversation skills on us. I'm still surprised we could get our order in between her chattering. I hate to blame her....it was clear she had little to no training and obviously no supervision. She had never heard of the style of eggs I ordered and even made fun of the order. Then, she made fun of another customer for having the nerve to order their eggs differently, as well. Also, when my wife asked about a meal, she said it was gross and would never order it again. Thanks, I guess? And she said she couldn't make grits, but would find another server to make them. As for the food, it was mediocre. Their pancakes are good, but the other items are bland. I would much rather stick with the Waffle Houses here in Richmond. Yeah, they're old and dirty, but the servers are better and you don't feel like you just got ripped off when you leave (though suicidal thoughts are included at all greasy spoons). read more

I have ate at this IHOP several times and the quality of service always varies. It is a new location but either way I don't feel being new is an excuse for poor service. Yesterday I went in and was seated promptly however, we set for a good few mins before we realized man we have been waiting for a while just to take our drink order. So we started timing.. We waited an additional 4 mins past what seemed to be the first at least 3 mins. One waitress walked back and forth by us several times speaking to another waitress but never acknowledging us once. We got up and walked out. The hostess watched us walk out along with another employee and neither of them asked why we were leaving or even thanks for coming. Sad! I'm just SAD after eating in this restaurant! The waitress suggested the biscuits and gravy because "they are Sooo good" so we added them to our breakfast. When they arrived, the anticipated bite was cold and greasy...not much worse than cold and greasy gravy in my opinion! Everything we ordered was cold...the butter on the pancakes was hard as a rock and there was not enough heat to even begin to melt it. We sent the biscuits and gravy back because it was so bad! I hate to be a complainer and something has to be beyond horrible for me to say something about it! There was only 3 other tables with customers, yet our waitress never asked if we wanted refills. I know this restaurant has potential...but the way it is being ran now, I'm afraid it is doomed to fail. I've never spent over two hours in a restaurant in my life that I wasn't drinking beer! This place was horrible. My husband and I waited over 20 minutes just to get a server to take our drink order. Which were water and tea. That took another 15 minutes for them to bring out. We had at least 4 different servers. The two omelets were definitely NOT worth over $25. We couldn't even take a bite for another worker coming over to see if things were ok, or if we needed something else or if we wanted more drinks. But when we actually did need drinks the floor was completely void of workers. We had so many servers we didn't even know who to tip. Also we had to listen to the manager belittle and scold every single employee she came in contact with. She was rude and unprofessional and I have since learned she was fired. It was beyond ridiculous. We will definitely never be back there. Just go to Cracker Barrel! Much cheaper and better atmosphere by far. I honestly give this place no stars read more

Worst experience we've had in a LONG time! Arrived at 7:50; shown to table and asked what we wanted to drink. At 8:05, water came; At 8:10, server took our orders. I asked for coffee because I could see they were SLOW. At 8:20 coffee came and was poured; no cream; Server said she'd be right back, went to another table and took orders; tasted coffee, it's cold; flagged server at other table; At 8:25, came back with coffee (hot and with cream this time) and husband's salad (no crackers, etc.) wrong dressing Ranch instead of French. He's diabetic and had taken his meds so he ate it anyway. Three other tables that arrived after us were served (two by our server). Husband getting sick now and I tried to flag someone down to find out if he could have crackers or something. No one available. At 8:55, server came to apologize because "printer" malfunctioned, our order was lost, but he was cooking it now and was paying for our meal. Too late for husband who has to eat within 15 minutes of meds. We left and won't be back. Big issue with server not noticing we didn't have food; Big issue with manager not coming to the table with the news, but sending the server. read more

Went to the IHOP in Richmond, KY for the first time yesterday--never again! The waitress was training in a waitress (who looked shell-shocked and very awkward). The food was cold when it arrived and my bacon looked like it had been dropped in the deep fryer to be cooked (and burned). The toast was dry (without butter). After we finished the food that was edible, the waitress asked what was wrong with my bacon. I told her it had been assassinated. She offered to get me some replacement bacon. They must have fixed the issues everyone complained about because we had a great dining experience at this IHOP. My husband and I were seated right away and our order arrived quicker than we thought possible. Food was what you would expect (eggs, bacon, pancakes----not much you can get wrong there). We enjoyed the atmosphere and decorations for Christmas. Our waitress was great and very friendly. I gave it a 4 b/c I think the food is a bit pricey.....almost $25 for two people. We didn't realize you have to specify if you only want one cup of coffee so we ended up paying for constant carafes we didn't want or need........oh well. You learn! Will return. read more
