Caprese Salad with Filet, side of Mac
    Bethany L.

Think upscale sports bar! As a solo diner I had the option to sit at the bar, but requested a small table and was seated at a half booth, which was perfect for me. It was slow on a Wed evening and I felt relaxed to enjoy my dinner and book. Service was attentive and efficient, while mindful that I was clearly in no rush. Highly recommend the Old Fashioned - it was perfection. Added filet to my salad and ordered a side of Mac & enjoyed every bite!

We found Millstone Social as an online suggestion. The restaurants is an upscale sports bar. It is very clean and spacious. We were immediately greeted by a server to take the drink order..NOTE- Get The Lemonade!!! It is freshly squeezed and the best we've had in some. Our server, Dana, was the best. Great attitude, very knowledgeable and provided excellent service. We ordered the deviled egg flight- pretty odd- but definitely worth it. We never knew that deviled eggs could be kicked up like that. The avacado & pico da gallo eggs are incredible. We both ordered caprese salads with a filet & blue cheese and a caprese with shrimp. Simply excellent. Looking forward to going back.. Thanks Dana..you rock..

I had such high hopes for this place. It looks like it would be somewhere we could hang out, watch sports and have some drinks and food. We came in today for brunch with a large group of 18 and had called ahead to make sure they could accommodate us. Including our group, there were probably 40-50 people in the restaurant. Our waitress took all our order at the same time and stopped by our table several times to let us know our food was coming. The food came out in waves. My food was the first to arrive, 50 minutes after our order was placed. The last people in our group didn't get their food for an hour and twenty minutes. I had shrimp and grits. It was barely warm when it arrived. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, a side of sliced tomatoes and a side of bacon. Our daughter got the plain golden pancakes and scrambled eggs. Neither of them got her scrambled eggs and we canceled the order after an hour and 20 minutes. The highlight of my meal was the Ruh Roh Shaggy Bloody Mary. We heard other tables complaining about wait times on their food and the waitresses were blaming our large group for the log jam in the kitchen. They will need to fix their kitchen issues if they want this place to succeed.

I can't believe Richmond has a spot like this! The service is phenomenal! We came with a group of almost 20 and not only was our server great but the general manager Keith made sure we were taken care of as well. The food was very good. My favorites were the Reuben sandwich and the Pork Tenderloins. Everyone in our party liked their food so honestly you can't go wrong! Main dining room has plenty of seating and I appreciate that it didn't get very loud with nearly full capacity seating on a Friday night. Keith, the manager, told us about the upstairs speakeasy that you can get a membership for or rent out the room for events. It has its own bar & bartender up there. They also have a golf simulator at the front of the restaurant you can reserve by the hour which I thought was neat. Honestly this is a great place for Richmond I'm so excited to go back!

    The Hill Old Fashioned
    Fat Man Reviews K.

The food scene in Madison County is growing every year, and new concept sit-down restaurants are always welcome. One such new restaurant is Millstone Social. Millstone is an elevated sports bar serving upscale bar food while offering drinks, TVs, and a golf simulator. So, the Fat Man and his wife headed downtown to see what this place had to offer. I started with The Hill Old Fashioned, which is made with Buffalo Trace, muddled dark cherries, orange, simple syrup, and soda. This drink was heavy on bourbon; the simple syrup is hidden, as is the soda. When it does come through, the background is very muted. We tried the Boneless Buffalo Wings as our appetizer. This dish consisted of breaded chicken tenders in Buffalo sauce, with celery, carrots, Bleu cheese, and ranch. The wings were juicy, tender, and completely covered in sauce. They were good size and had a nice crunch from the breading. The Buffalo sauce is salty and warming on the front but kicks up the heat on the back end. The ranch is buttermilk and made in-house, while the bleu cheese is out of a bottle but a chunky variety. My wife had the Reuben with Millstone Mac Cheese. The Reuben comes with thinly sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, and housemade thousand island on rye bread. The noodles were cooked spot on, the salt level was great, and the cheese was creamy, ooey gooey, with a little crunch from two different kinds of cheese on top. The bread was lightly toasted, not greasy, and had a good crunch in the bite. The kraut had a good crunch and texture, and the vinegar helped cut through the sandwich. The Swiss was melted well, offering salt and a creaminess to each bite. The corned beef was tender, had a bit of a chew, and had a great flavor. I had the Kentucky Hot Brown with onion rings. This entree came with roasted turkey and ham, cheese sauce, sourdough bread, tomato slices, and bacon. The onion rings had a good level of breading and slight crunch but could have used just another 30 seconds in the fryer because they had a slight mushiness, but the flavor was delicious. The bread on the bottom and top holds up and gives a chew. The ham is salty and not too thick, while the turkey offers a slight sweetness and is sliced about the same. The American cheese sauce was bubbly, salty, creamy, and had great ooey goodness, with shaved Parmesan offering a nutty finish. The bacon was medium thick with good crunch and saltiness. The tomato offered some juiciness to break up the sauce and saltiness. The toast points outside give some nice texture and a different spin on the dish. Millstone Social offers starters, sandwiches, salads, mains, desserts, and brunch on the weekends. They have several TVs and a golf simulator for those interested. The Fat Man Says that Millstone Social is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Hot Brown with an Amaretto Sour Mocktail

Y'all, if you haven't checked out Millstone Social in Richmond yet, you're seriously missing out. Incredible food, a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, a full swing golf simulator, and--wait for it--a hidden members only speakeasy upstairs. Yes, really. My family spent Mother's Day brunch there, and out of a table of 10, every single person raved about their meal. We had a spread of favorites--creamy shrimp and grits, fluffy biscuits smothered in rich, savory gravy, and a next-level hot brown that was pure comfort on a plate. We sipped on Mimosas and Amaretto Sour mocktails that were absolutely delicious. It's the perfect mix of elevated and unexpected. What's not to love?

    Panini and tator tots

I had a great lunch experience at the new Millstone Social. The restaurant was previously a night bar and has a lot of room for the restaurant now. It was nicely decorated and had a welcoming atmosphere. I had one of the paninis and tator tots. It was a good amount of food for a good price. The service was great and I would definitely come back when in Richmond.

    Burger house chips

Friendly staff but this place is overhyped. Burger was super charred in a way that made it taste bitter and unseasoned. House chips are such a weird choice for anyone to eat anywhere because theyre literally just fried potato slices you can't comfortably dip in ketchup. I see no reason to return.

The meat was super tender and tasty. The best part was the sauce they bring out to the table in little squirt bottles. The red sauce was a chipotle flavored salsa and the green was just as amazing, maybe even more so. Prices were really reasonable, $1.75 per taco and other menu items were under $10. The only downside was that it took a little while (about 20 minutes) for it to be made. Of course, that means it was cooked fresh! I can't wait to come back!

The menu is not extensive, tacos, burritos, soup (posole on the weekends) sandwiches, and quesadillas but who needs an extensive menu? We are really here for the tacos, right? So, let's talk about the tacos. I'm a huge fan of tripas (tripe) tacos. Growing up in East Tennessee I would never have imagined myself willingly eating the intestines of any animal but here I am, longing for those delectable morsels of deliciousness on a good tortilla with lime and a fiery green salsa. Taqueria Hidalgo delivers. The tripe tacos (order it cooked crispy) are delicious. The owner tells me they sell a huge amount of the tripe tacos and I see why - each crispy little piece of tripe is an earthy, porky, bite of heaven. Add the standard onions, cilantro, and lime along with some of the homemade green salsa and it's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. For the less advanced taco connoisseurs, they also have chicken, steak, marinated pork, etc. but be aware these are Mexican style street tacos - no cheese and served on soft corn tortillas. I'm so happy we have this family run business in Richmond. It is an asset to the community. Check it out!

My friend ordered the molcajete and everything was super tender and it came with a house sauce at the bottom of it to give it extra flavor. It has a variety of meats and fried cheese and a cactus piece on it. Definitely big enough for two and unique! I ordered the carne asada, my piece came with more fat than I'm used to. Although the flavor was great. I paired it with a michelada and it came out a little spicy. The service was great they were on top of it. I judge every trip to a new Mexican place by their version of the Speedy Gonzalez. This is a taco, an enchilada bean or rice. I had the beef version of this here, while it was solid, it did not blow my socks off. Beef was seasoned well, everything was piping hot and the taste was pretty bland overall. The refried beans were very tasty and the little bit of cheese on top was a great touch! I did not care for the salsa and chips. It didn't have much zip to it or any onion or cilantro flavors that I like. Chips were thick but warm and sprinkled with salt. I was there in the middle of the day and the place seemed a little dark. Service was fast and friendly. I will give it another whirl and try something different. But there are other Mexican places I will try before I go back to this one.
