Hall's cheeseburger

The food was really delicious and the atmosphere is really nice, but the service was awful. We had to ask for our waitress twice first time for refills the second time for the check.. and then a couple actually got up and left because they were never waited on awful awful service

We ate most of it. It didn't have enough beer cheese.

We really enjoyed this meal. We have come here off and on over the last 25 years and not as much in the last 5 years but the last two times that we have come, we have really enjoyed it. I love the fried catfish dinner! The Shrimp and Grits are awesome too! The service is a bit lacking. They brought out the salad just a few minutes before all of the entrees and I believe there is no excuse for that. We really like the atmosphere and food is good. We started with the Beer Cheese Platter with Hot Pretzels and it was absolutely delicious. We will come back again soon.

The Fish & Chips Dinner

We stopped on a whim because the last time we ate at Hall's was long before the flood of '21. The River House feel was not lost in the renovations. If you are looking to eat at a true Kentucky landmark, you won't be disappointed. The wait staff worked hard to make sure we were satisfied with our meals and in today's market, that means a lot to me. My fish and chips dinner was a nice change of pace for me. The fish was a dark golden color that tasted great. My wife had the catfish and it was better than my meal! The breading on her fish was perfect! Not too salty, a perfect light golden hue. I like my tartar sauce a little tangier than theirs but we had a great meal and great service. We will be back!

Food was delicious. We left absolutely full! We ordered Fish and Chips, Chicken Alfredo and an order of Crab Cakes for our entrees. For drinks we had the Georgia Peach alcoholic beverage and sweet tea. For dessert we got the brownie a la mode and cheesecake with Carmel sauce and one with caramel, chocolate and raspberry sauces. We also had appetizers of mozzarella sticks and fried green tomatoes.

My wife and I stayed at the Fort Boonsboro State Park for 12 days. There's not a lot in the meeting area, but we found this place to be fairly good. We had the same waitress and bartender on two of our four visits. The staff as a whole were very friendly and polite. The food was pretty good as well. The fried green tomatoes were yummy! I really enjoyed the beer cheese soup. The most spectacular dish was the banana pepper brined chicken wings. They were had a tempura batter as well. So yummy! They do have Wi-Fi, which makes it a bonus. We thought the decor was spot on for the area. Also thought the water level indicator of previous floodings was amazing! You won't go wrong if you come here.

It's one reason I don't go out for breakfast ~ I can make a pretty good breakfast at home. No use paying someone to do something I can do. So, going into Jackson's restaurant, a mom and pop restaurant specializing in home cooked style food, I had my doubts. Walking up to what resembled a school cafeteria lunch line only furthered my doubts. And, seeing the sheer number of different options sitting out behind the glass window only furthered my suspicions. Look, I was wrong. The food here is really good. The service is super friendly and helpful. I was so overwhelmed by all the choices I just told the lady behind the glass counter to pick me something. She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. But I'd say that even if you're remotely close, it's worth a visit. Don't, as I did, judge a book by its cover.

My wife had the Mae Elizabeth Salda also served with the Italian vinaigrette, consisted of salad greens, sweet onions, peppers, baby tomatos cumcber, carrots, ham, turkey, topped with provolone. The Lavender lemonade is a excellent combination. The service was oustanding and they are very attentive to the needs of the customers. Will return again.

The moment I walked in, I loved the setup--bright, open dining areas with huge windows overlooking the hills. It has a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe but still feels clean, organized, and welcoming. Perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a good meal without feeling rushed. I ordered the chicken tenders with onion rings and green beans, and you can truly taste the homemade quality. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the onion rings were perfectly crispy, and the green beans had that classic Kentucky taste with bacon and onions. My dining partner got the BLT with homemade chips, and the portion was impressive--thick-cut bacon, fresh veggies, and crunchy chips that were obviously made in-house. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. If you're anywhere near Mt. Vernon or passing through on a trip, make time to stop here. It's one of those local spots where the food is great, the views are beautiful, and the service makes you want to come back again. Finding Mediterranean cuisine anywhere can be difficult, but having such fine Mediterranean food…read moreright in the heart of Lancaster is nearly unbelievable. This place has a name and an exterior that hides what it really is--an understated place with massive Mediterranean flavor and quality. Tonight my wife and I came in around 7 or so on a Saturday night, an hour before they closed and with a show going on at the Lancaster Grand across the street. We were their second to last customer for the night. The place was packed when we got in, with close to 10 parties seated. One was a very large group. Working was the owner at the grill, his wife on apps and plating, and one young man waiting tables and bussing. We overheard that their second waiter had called in that night--naturally your help calls in on your busiest nights. It is likely for this reason that the lady below left her unsavory review about the wait time. She was probably hungry and they probably had somebody call in, and they went to their show hungry so she took it out on this restaurant's page on Yelp. I'd say that blame falls on her lacking perspective more than this restaurant lacking quality. Some folks from the area may not be accustomed to food like this, and it may not hit them right. But folks who know good food will love this place, as we heard multiple other patrons raving about how good their food was. Ours was no exception. I got the three kabob shawarma platter which was excellent (though the "market price" for it ended up being an astounding $46. The idea must be to share it among two or three folks.) My wife really enjoyed her hummus with chopped up chicken shawarma and roasted almonds, just superb with the pita chips and pita bread served alongside. Y'all, the hummus is special here. The food options in Lancaster are limited. You've got your standard bbq spots, the little pasta place around the corner in the Lancaster square which I've reviewed separately, your token Mexican restaurant, and then your fast food chains. This spot is a real hole in the wall that outshines all of them when it comes to flavor, while putting on no airs. Just be prepared to sit back, wait patiently to be served, and maybe inquire as to what the "market price" is if you (like me) weren't intending to come away spending $75 after tip (having ordered waters to drink).

We saw a man and a woman fixing food and three wait staff in the restaurant. The place seemed pretty busy, too, which we took as a good sign. We placed an order for two shawarma plates and a hummus appetizer. Then we sat. We heard a man sitting at the bar say he had been waiting for his food for over half an hour. Uh oh. We heard the lady behind the counter fixing food yelling at the wait staff for the back up of orders. We asked about our appetizer two times when the staff came to check on us. We had been there over half an hour, and once we heard the lady tell them she would fix it but she never did. As we had plans to catch a show at Grand, we finally got up and left after sitting there for about an hour with no food coming out to us. Unfortunately, no matter how good the food might be, with service like this we do not plan to visit again.
