We are visiting relatives in the area and 7 of us went to IHOP. I was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded menu. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and tres leches pancakes. It was fabulous. Karen was our server and she did not make us wait forever for requests like milk or mustard. She never missed a beat. We all were very happy with the food and super happy with her service. read more

I've dined at this IHOP in Ramsey, NJ several times, it's always hit & miss for me. Either there's something off with the food or service is slacking. Today the food and service were both better than average. Diana H was my server, very pleasant and cheerful. I ordered breakfast (pancakes, bacon & OJ), which was promptly served. Food was hot (as opposed to the usual warm food I received in the past). This was an improved experience over the last few times I've visited this location. Next time I'm in the area, I'll stop by again. read more

We had a wonderful waiter named Yahay, who had a great personality and was very attentive. We will be requesting him when we got back to IHOP. The food was particularly good too! read more

worst ihop food i have ever eaten...this place was remodeled recently but I guess they never replaced the cooks and the service was not so great, first thing I noticed when we was seated was that the floor must of not been clean since they reopened, when you stood on it your legs would slide apart...if you are lucky to read this beforehand DO NOT COME TO THIS IHOP WORST EVER My favorite ihop is in the Spring Valley mall best food and the servers are actually happy to help!! read more

IHOP - Breakfast time, at one of the last Ihops in the area. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Ramsey, New Jersey

3 stars, "A-Okay." Recently renovated, it looks warmer and modern, similar to a Marriott Courtyard. Now take that comment for what it is, it looks like the entrance lobby of that hotel chain. The service has been decent, where you order and you eat then you pay. The only warm greeting I've received is from the manager. It's just another drudge day at work for the wait staff. For a breakfast themed restaurant, I'd like a warm friendly welcome to start my day. The food is like any other IHOP in the chain, and I've ordered through a large swath of the gambit of choices. Consistency for this branch is there. This is a safe bet for an IHOP, where I've been to a few off color ones, and a few shining stars across the country. This branch is the safe middle ground. read more

This location is great, as long as you go at the right time. Midmorning on a saturday is my usual choice. There's usually not a wait and the service is decent. It doesn't take long for the food to arrive. My server didn't know what grapefruit juice was, he asked me what color? Yikes! Other than that, no complaints. I do wish they'd bring back the eggnog pancakes. They're superb! read more

Took an hour for us to get our pancakes, and both our coffee cups had lipstick stains from prior use... Waitress was very very nice and took care of us, but the management could care less. When we Tried to redeem our gift card, the waitress needed access to the computer that only her manager had access to, he was on the phone and couldn't help her, so in turn couldn't help us. It is clear that cooks, management, and wait staff are not working together at all. read more

Never had a problem here just the wait can be really long sometimes and there tables open but they don't have enough staff to cover the tables. I love IHOP and there pancakes are great I love coming here for there breakfast food specifically. read more

Every time I order for delivery and I get three pancakes all they send is one thing of syrup.

Just another regular crowded IHOP. Loved the pancakes As always. Staff is very courteous. Loved the ambience inside the restaurant. Plenty of parking space and I liked the fact that it's right on highway. read more

Came in today for the early morning special which I go mostly every week morning before 9am . This special is great service fresh & fast before I head to work, better part it's only $5.00... But only today I was refused by my server then the manager. When I asked why Manager why she stated they don't honor this special on Holidays. It's states that too on the menu, but in what American calendar today the 31st of December is not a holiday. Just wanted all to know this. read more

Went around 7:30-7:40PM on a Monday. They said they close at 8pm but the kitchen closed at 7:30 because its a rainy day. Saw other customers being turned away too. People still hungry when it rains, but I guess that's how these guys do it. read more

Have gone here for years, probably for a decade. It's time I write a review as I've gone several times in the past few months. There is still somewhat of a crowd on weekend mornings, but almost no wait during the week. There is a special now for $4.99 that gets you two strips of bacon, two eggs, hashbrowns, and two pancakes. I've gotten this the past few times, one time everything was a different temperature, but the other times it was fine, one time it was perfect. The consistency leaves a bit to be desired, but you can't really complain for the price. I always order the cracked eggs, and the quantity is a bit different each time. I've also had the waffles (plain) which are good, but my favorite by far is the French toast (plain). It's really good, in my opinion even better than "high end" places that are double in price. Plus they often will give a coupon for a short stack of pancakes during your next visit if you fill out a short survey. And I've actually mentioned a few things they could work on and they've "fixed" them the next time around. Can't go wrong for the price, and it's a pretty well run and enjoyable place. read more

The I Hop in Ramsey is a well oiled machine! The staff is organized, attentive and friendly. under the circumstances they are well staffed and the food is delicious. I have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. Thank you for starting my day "normal". read more

you kind of know what you can expect with any chain so don't think it is a 5 star restaurant in terms of food and service. having said this, if you want pancakes or eggs on the run it is worth the stop. Service was friendly and attentive, thanks Lori. Food is what you can expect, eggs were cooked to order and pancakes (I had double blueberry)! was served hot. Lori properly asked if we wanted coffee and once we did, asked if we preferred milk or half and half. Overall experience for this visit was ver nice, didn't smell anything negative as someone mentioned. Pretty packed today during lunch but didn't affect service or quality of the food. Like I mentioned don't expect more than what IHop is and you won't be disappointed. Still a good value for your money and if you wanted pancakes, eggs and waffles, you either go to a diner or IHop. I jsut felt like going to IHop today as you can select whichever syrup you want to try. read more

Good food and portions. Food served quickly but could be warmer.

I woke up having some heavy cravings and this place satisfied it. I got the strawberry and banana French toast and it was made with perfection! The French toast was very savory and fluffy and the strawberry syrup added a sweet after taste taste. The friendly atmosphere and speedy service enhanced the family dining experience. read more

Place never disappoints. Everyone is super nice and food is actually really good. Best part is that the prices are so much cheaper than a diner. Menu is huge and they do a great job with kids options. read more

IHOP still has the best pancakes around. The omelettes are great too. Our server, Michael S., was funny and efficient. Great meal.

This IHOP is so nice and clean! The food is always fresh and the staff are VERY pleasant and accommodating! Our waitress Karen took very good care of us ! There are several other IHOP locations that are closer to my house but I rather drive a little farther for better service ! read more

This place has really dropped the ball lately. I go here a lot for breakfast with the kiddos. This time I brought friends and their kids. The waiter was very abrupt and rude with a heavy Spanish accent and rushed us through ordering. When asking for more place settings or sour cream etc (things we needed) he would "yes" us and forget we asked. The place was not busy at all only two to three other tables at a time while we were there. The food as always been decent and pricing good and thats why we return. But the lack of customers in the place each time I go is very telling. read more

Appears to have new management. Restaurant is cleaner and better run. Now worth stopping at

Service is good but the food quality is inconsistent. Only been here a few times and want to keep it as that. Pancakes seem watered down and thin. An order of French toast my friend got was loaded with egg and not all that great. There are much better breakfast options in the area for Similar pricing. read more

For anybody avoiding salt, this might be the place. But I just had a very concerning experience. Had lunch with family this weekend and was disappointed with Cyndy, our server. Her fingernails were verrrry long that it was touching the food she was serving. Those long nails can be a hiding place for dirt and bacteria. My 4 y.o daughter asked me "why does she have claws?". When we asked for a glass of water, Cyndy was holding the top of the glass where customers would put their mouths. Is that the way to serve water? She just looked very untidy. Since iHop is in the food business and with the many health concerns especially food borne illnesses, managers or supervisors should emphasize cleanliness amongst their employees and retrain them on how to serve their customers the proper way. read more

Hadn't been here for many years but my wife and I thought we'd take advantage of a discount coupon promo. Cortney, our waitress, provided a warm smile and exceptionally attentive service. She even helped calculate out the best discount coupon to use (extraordinary to meet anyone under 25 yrs old able to actually think through a calculation, in her head no less). The setting was clean and the food was good. That said, we'd go back to simply to experience Cortney's service. read more

Great environment from the moment you walk in. Service is exceptional and food is fresh.

Mediocre at best. Prices r outrageous for what u get. The service was very slow and I saw a waiter yawn without covering his mouth in the dining area which is extremely rude, unsanitary, and unprofessional. The pancakes themselves were ok but I'd try a diner before a low class and overpriced chain restaurant. read more

I am a huge fan of IHOP, but this location is beyond terrible. I went with my dad for breakfast and we were seated right away. It took a little over 10 minutes for the waiter to come over and take our drink orders. He then disappeared for a good 15 minutes, and we placed our order when he came back with our coffee. After 30 minutes of waiting, we paid for the coffee and left. I will not be returning to this location. Do the population of Northern New Jersey a favor and just close your doors for good. read more

Worst experience ever. The manager at this location berated me in a room full of people for ordering take out and then requesting a seat, as my four year old autistic son and my five year old daughter decided that they wanted ice cream with their food. The manager made both my children cry and accused me of trying to cheat the system, and the threatened to throw my kid's meals out. On top of it, the manager was covered in sweat and was touching the food, extremely unsanitary and down right gross. As a forty year old woman, I felt harassed and discriminated against in a restuarant that should cater to children. read more

I don't even know where to begin but why oh why do their cups smell?? they smell like they were washed with stagnant water! The staff was just there waiting for the day to end just sitting around. The waitress that was supposed to be greeting guests up front was sitting at a table next to me just there texting and reading a book. The one waitress never even came back, we had to send someone to go get her. This is by far the worst Ihop I've been to. read more

Waited 45 minutes after given the standard 15 to 20 minute wait. Then AFTER finally sitting down we were told they were working only with one grill! So as a result the food could take 1 hour to come out! We were then told they should have told us after given our name.... We'll we were not! Got up to leave and asked to speak to the manager. We were told he was in the back and would be with us shortly. After 20 minutes we could not wait anymore , really hunger at this point and figured he or she was hiding in the back! Avoid this IHOP at all costs! read more
